Yeah, as it stands I don't need this at all, can get similar sounds by quite a few synths, but the footpedal would definitely make it an instant purchase for live use. I know, you can get midi pedals separately - but having it actually all in one would be great and simplify the setup.
I refuse to get excited until you can actually order one. I've been waiting over a year for the Edge and there hasn't been a whisper since the announce video.
I would definitely not say Dreamtheater are "underrated", as they are most definitely the most famous prog band of their generation (with Porcupine Tree maybe), it's Just that prog metal never enjoyed the kind of popularity that prog rock did in the early 70s, when Yes, King Crimson, Genesis etc. were in their heyday. And Rush kind of bridged into the eighties by having a more accessible sound, while keeping some prog antics.
Exactly! I've got a dozen apps on my iPad that can make this sound and my Model D can do this and so much more. It's the pedals that made the Taurus what it is. Without those, I just don't see the point here.
After a long time absence of synths I've started with Behringer synths again 3 years ago. Deepmind 12, Model D, Pro 1 and Poly D those were on my desk. Very good and affordable synths and I'm not bashing the brand. BUT ... in the meanwhile Behringer is only announcing new synths, they are´nt available on market. Exciting clones of the CS80, the PPG, the Oberheim ... just vapourware. I think it´s ok to announce new models a certain time before a model will come to market. But an announcement without a product,. Behringer, that's not how it should be.
If only these products that you so ostentatiously and shamelessly peddle were actually made available for purchase. That'd be great. How about you release one of these things once in a while?
Especially since the octave limit is lifted. I don't know if it's possible on the Minitaur now but back when it was new on the market you could only use 2 or 3 octaves and not use it as lead synth.
@@derkernspalter Minitaur goes up to C5, but then you have the special edition Moog Sirin that is like a minitaur without the limitations - and some internal differences as well. Minitaur is 350 used and Sirin is like 1000. So you pay a lot for those extra octaves.
I think $149 is a bit unrealistic in this day and age. Analog = more components = more r&d to fit it into the eurorack/ desktop format. Plus it’s a slightly niche product, so yeah, not surprised it’s priced at $349. It’ll get a bit cheaper as retailers try and undercut each other but not by much I fancy, unlike the korg state , hydrasynth, Arturias etc. it’s one for the purists.
I can get these sounds from the plethora of Behringer synths I currently have,as a matter of fact any of the Behringer synths with a 3340 chip . Nice reproduction though .
THANKS Behringer for all of your great products. Now Behringer needs to start Creating Rackmount Units, like reverb, delay, equalizers, compressors, gates, digital and analog synthetic with all instrument sounds including drums etc... We need all of that to be created asap because people are starting to go back to an All Analog Studio Setup.. Peace Fam.. K.N. 2023
It's for people who wanted the original. There's a lot to be said for the UI & *NOT* having all the options the other Synths do. Workflow is a largely Psychological experience. Sometimes you get completely different results from 2 Synths, which by all logic should be capable of producing the exact same sounds. There's more to it than Transistors & Capacitors. How do you feel using it?
@@MrOuija-rr8kq Having as little between the Sound in my Head & making it happen, is what makes a Synth enjoyable. Some people almost seem to regard it as a selling point if a Device is esoteric & complicated. I think I already asked you this before, but you don't paint Trains, do you?

This to me sounds exactly like my Behringer Model D and I wonder if that's proper. Because afaih the Taurus sounds different than the Minimoog. But when I'm right, what's the point of this over the Model D which could do this plus more?
"Any Third Party Pedal Board" Third Party Pedal Boards start at $500. I heard you guys said you don't have plans to make your own. That's a huge missed opportunity in my opinion. I would buy this if I could also buy a Behringer midi pedal board to go along with it.
@@stefanoberli5920 The FCB1010 is cool but it's both too much floor space for my room and a bit more then I really need out of a midi foot controller. I really just want some simple Organ style midi pedals.
@@ooktar some people have chopped off the expression pedals to make the fcb1010 smaller. But yeah, its a shame they didnt include the pedals like in the original.
I have a minitaur which I love but I am glad they have released this as Moog never opened up the range of these oscillators instead choosing to release a limited edition Sirin for which prices have been ridiculous and this product now solves that issue.
Am I the only one listening to this and seeing the simplest rudimentary synth with minimalist controls and almost no real features. It's a synth with simple parameters. I have made these sounds myself on my FA06, it took about 10 minutes. Or just take the free Viking VST synth and boom, you have a Toro. It it leaves the icing off the cake...no foot controls. I'm a huge Rush and Genesis fan but these sounds are duplicated easily on any basic synth.
Considering it’s technically competing with the Minitaur, my guess is that this will be under $400-$500, and THAT is pretty exciting! Love the Taurus tones, so this is basically an insta-buy for me.
What year is this coming out ?it’s getting tiresome how your showcasing these synths yet it’s years until they hit stores.. Where are the mini budget synths you announced ages ago?
I wish he hadn’t played the three original presets legato. I wanted to hear the full release envelope of the “Toro” preset. Back in the day, no one played the Taurus 1 pedals legato!
I can't believe what a wonderful job you guys are doing for music, and these prices, wonderful instruments available to everyone. I love you Behringer.
Add this to the list of vaporware synths that Behringer keeps announcing that don't seem to exist anywhere except in promo material. Maybe Behringer should announce this stuff when it actually becomes available, instead of after the first prototype. If it can't be purchased, it's fictitious.
Guys you have to release an organ pedal. And you should design it so that it can either interface directly with this synth with a space meant to hold it, or an accessories that connects them together and makes them work and act like a real Taurus.
If item is priced affordable then yup I'm in! If it's over $400 forget it. Their are similar sounds available at low cost. I hope they keep it comin at affordable pricing with all remakes.
How many instruments do they show and have never released? Anyone have a count? It needs to be like a weather app with graphs of hype vs actually released

Agreed. If this was full sized (looks about 3/4 size is the original Taurus) and buttons and stuff we're actually rugged enough to be used by your feet.... That would be one thing. But this is like.... Unsure if it was to be a Taurus or a minitaur, and in doing so is more limited than their own Model D.
if this sounds like the minotaur then it is distinctly different than the model d. I have both a minotaur and a model d and they are not the same at all.
The biggest difference (Among many) is that you get 3 fat oscillators on Model D instead of just 2. The filter seems to sound exactly the same (And probably is exactly the same ladder filter). So how on earth can a 2 oscillator Moog with the same filter even come near to a Model D? The slight differences can't make up for an additional oscillator, can it?
