We are incredibly excited to announce the launch of Critical Role Foundation! CRF is our 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the mission of leaving the world better than we found it.
CRF partners with other non-profits on campaigns supporting causes that mean a lot to us. Additionally, 10% of every donation, across every campaign, goes toward an emergency relief fund giving CRF the ability to provide donations in the event of a natural disaster or other instance that requires immediate humanitarian aid.

That's such a mood. My health has been crap these last few years & besides the love of my family & the few friends i have, the thing that kept me going? This group of nerdy ass voice actors. Being able to watch them play this game & see their friendship makes me feel like I'm their friend too, even though obviously they wouldn't know me from a bar of soap. Being able to watch them keeps me going. Which reminds me, i need to finish 110.

It's by his choice as well as theirs that he isn't a part of things like that. BUT, I will admit, this is partially assumption on my part since information about that break up is Not Talked About.

5% Operating Costs is an _outstanding_ percentage. I've seen plenty that get up to 20%. The rest of the breakdown is 85% to ongoing charities and 10% to an emergency fund. While I don't want to shortchange the regular charities, given the state of the world right now, I wouldn't mind a 5% shift towards the Emergency Fund... Give them a larger pool to throw into emergencies, especially given how much I trust them to send it where it needs to go.

To save me from researching, so you're saying that in this charity 85% goes towards the charities mentioned and another 10% is set aside for things FEMA should handle(but often can fail to do because of politics)? This is definitely better than many non-profits out there, but it still seems like it's adding a middleman between our dollars(or whatever currency) and the charities themselves.

Except that 85% goes to other charities that have their own operating costs. So you are losing out on more impact than if you had just donated directly to the other charity to begin with.

Right now I fail to see the benefit to donating here over simply donating to the specific Charities that I support. In addition, what if somewhere down the line This Foundation supports a charity that for whatever reason I don't agree. I just don't think it's worth any extra trouble

These are all good points. As with any (genuine) charitable effort, your money would be most effective going directly to the cause. But often the mental overhead and management of that makes a lot of people stall. This is something for those that always feel like they should be giving more, or anything at all, but don't have the follow through to find out where they are happy to put that money.

This. I've found that CR has made me aware of charities that I would like to support but haven't known about. I tend to fall back on my core set of charities as a default, and these guys have introduced me to some I was happy to support.

Outstanding! I can only make a small monthly donation, but the current campaign is one that is very meaningful to me. Also, as Veteran, I appreciate the partnerships you've chosen. You folks have really breathed life into what has become a weekly activity I didn't realize I needed so badly. I started watching CR out of curiosity one day, as I've always enjoyed the game but hadn't played in many years. It wasn't long after that I started DMing games for my kids, which has become our Sunday routine. It's very meaningful to me because my kids are now all adults and starting their own lives. I was not doing well with the nest emptying (I'm a squishy dad), so our Sunday Zoom games have given me time to share with them and their friends. It's what I live for every week. So yeah, I'm happy to help out any way I can.

Ryujin Yeah. I actually made a custom feat for one of my campaigns. It’s basically the same as the elvish “only needs 4 hours of meditation/can’t be put to sleep magically” trait.

I cant tell you how happy this makes me. Being an OG Critter (watching this show back befor they found Lady Kima in the Underdark) and remembering the Critmas eps. where people would donate to good charities, I love that they would do somthing like this. Im glad that years later they are still those humble (well mostly...Sam) people that want to help be a light in the world. After surviving a hurrican and suffering 2nd degree burns to the face (two separate incidences...its been a FUN 7 days ) I am really looking forward to tonights Ep. But this just made me happy. That or the painkillers. God bless you everybody. Be good to one another, and dont forget to make your dex save against fireballs.
