Harris has been a huge influence to my choice of microphone, and for 3 weeks of using, the wave 3 is the best bang for buck imo, Thanks Elgato and Thankyou Harris
Just gonna join the chorus of people asking for a standalone version of the software. It's not worth giving up my XLR mic for but I would buy the software in a heartbeat if I could.
This supports XLR Mic. But yes you would still need this mic running to turn on the app. Run your XLR through your mixer and add your mixer as a profile in the wave link app. Then mute your wave link mic so there won't be a echo in your recordings. Then in OBS, add another wave link device that's set to the mixer profile. Make sure the wave link mic is also muted in obs. Then it should work in your recordings.
@@foufouthksefouskwth2771 Voicemeeter isn‘t free, it is donationware. The Potatoe version with 3 in and outputs is about 50 dollars for commercial use. After some test period, you get a countdown screen every 6 hours, that deactivates the software and says: Hey, you have to pay for further use. The duration of the countdown gets even longer over the time, so I deinstalled it (because it was ok for free, but I personally would put more likely the 50 bucks or even more for a better hard- or software solution). I would totally prefer to buy this one for the price but I am not going to downgrade from my Procaster to this mic. :( And „just plug it in to use the software“ isn‘t the way I want to go. The great plus over Voicemeeter here is also that you can have acces to it from an elgato streamdeck.
Dude. Who decided it was a good idea to hard-lock this software to only work when one of your mics are connected? The money you hoped to earn from coercing people to buy microphones this way CANNOT be more than what you'd earn by selling the software standalone? What am I missing here?
@@DJ_Shadow They built their software to actually use hardware in the mic. Go get VoiceMeeter and fumble your way through it if you want to keep your Yeti.
Great move by elgato. Canceled my Samson mic order, pre-ordered this one. Was thinking about the GOXLR... but can now focus on a stream deck. WHAT A MOVE! competitors must hate you guys right now. The idea of having one less hardware component to deal with is superb.
Mhh Voicemeter Banana is for free and outputs 3 (5 if you pay) separate audio channels. And you also can change the audio level for Monitoring and Stream separately. So why should I get this software?

Wave Link is powered by Wave:1 and Wave:3 so it does require a Wave mic connected in order to work. You can add another microphone to Wave Link but you need to have a Wave:1 or Wave:3 connected first.

Help ... the Wavelink Plugin is not working for me at all. It doesn't show up in my list! It says it's installed and I can't uninstall it. I have upgraded to the latest versions of the Elgato software and I'm on Mac Ventura 13.4. I'm stuck because the Wavelink plugin doesn't even show up in my listing for me to control my Stream Deck +!!!
I cannot route ARK Survival evolved game audio through Wave Link. I know the usual steps since I have been using their software with other games for years without any problems.

Lol I can't even download this easy step, I don't get why this mic needs an app. I download it and It says "will you like to let this make changes to your device" and it doesn't work every time I press it. It says "driver installation failed please reboot the download" lol I though this mic was easy to set up but no, everything is complicated
Because they actually have hardware in the mic itself that their software was built to depend on. Yeah, you could go get VoiceMeeter. I've been using VoiceMeeter. It's passable, so long as you have an engine reset button set up for when it glitches the fuck out 12 times a stream, and don't mind that it simply doesn't do everything this does, while weighed down by all sorts of features for its intended purpose that you're never going to use that take up like half of the window, which for no apparent reason can't be resized. I bought a Wave 3 and can't fucking wait to delete VoiceMeeter.
Software is broken and glitched. I literally have to change my wavelink folder name everytime I reset my computer just so my sounds will output to my capture card. Hope they fix because I've spent a lot of money on elgato products
Okay, I just cannot find a solution for my problem - am I really the only one having it? I don’t want anything special. I got the rode procaster and the Elgato wave xlr. All I want is to use wave link to apply some audio treatment in order to make my voice sound better and to remove unwanted noise. Then I only want to use this improved voice sound in applications such as discord, for example. So I just got one single channel (the microphone, via wave xlr), applied some VSTs and this is it. Now I got two questions: 1. Now that I applied the audio treatment, I just want to hear how I sound like, UPON the application of these VSTs, of course. How do I do that? Or is this exactly what you are using applications such as Audacity for..? And if this is the case: what exactly is the monitoring output even for? If not for listening to how one sounds like with the VSTs put on? 2. in discord, what channel do I have to select as „input“? „wave xlr mic in“ or „wave link stream“?
For some reason i can't get it to work properly w/ OBS and an Elgato HD60S. My capture card's audio comes thru the wave 3/mix aux box in OBS, not the elgato box in OBS.....and the mic itself, can't hear myself speak into it.
How to use the Stream Deck+ and Wave Link to do something basic - like being in middle of game and wanting to increase/decrease the volume of teammate mic without going out of game - as far as I can see this is impossible... as is using these to listen to a game normally using headphones without having a 1 second delay in game audio??? What is point or use of "monitoring" mix if all it does is play back game audio and my own microphone voice input with a delay?? How am I supposed to play game with audio delay... how am I supposed to speak with an echo of myself playing back through my headset? I don't get WTF this software/hardware combination solves exactly?
Can Anyone tell me how i can get audio into my headset. I have a Astro A40 With the mix amp. Got everything setup, Changed monitor mix to Astro Mix amp pro Game, But the bars are moving to state i am getting sound but can't hear anything in my headset. But once i plug headset into wave 3 mic And change monitor mix to headphones Wave 3 i get sound. So when i Unplug the mic or even delete the wave link software and plug headset back into mixamp pro. I get sound. What could be the issue. Only had mic a week now and been trying ever since to figure away around.
Wavelink software disconnects randomly cause audio issues, been a well known bug for over a year... they've pushed numerous updates but wont address the issue at hand. Uninstall/Re-install is their only solution given by tech support and it still doesn't resolve the issue.
when, for example, adding the browser audio channel and changing the output to wave link browser, it's makes it so that I can't hear the browser anymore. How do I fix that?
So taking the monitor mix / stream mix feature out of the equation, what is the software doing that I couldn't be done in the App volume and device preferences settings in Windows directly?
There is only 1 channel and my mic is not added when I open the app? I made sure to set the correct default input and outputs in windows sound settings before downloading. Is this a bug? Orrrrr
THANK YOU ELGATO for WaveLink. I'm a Mac user and for 10 years I've been looking for a solution like this. I've struggled with VB-Cable, Soundflower, Capto, etc, etc. I usually got what I needed, but the effort and aggravation often made me regret having to do the project at all, not to mention the fear of not being able to repeat the solution for other workstations. It took about 20 minutes for me to realize that I'd be removing all of those patched methods from my workflow forever. It would have taken 5, but I had to realize I couldn't run Wave:3 though a USB hub. Great work. Really, really great work.

Hi guys need help badly after my purchase today of the wave 1, and using on my stream tonight turned into a nightmare..so hopefully someone can either help, or point me to videos. i will say this could be a bit long . So first, my regular set up prior to wave 1. OBS, streaming PS5 content 99% of the time, i used a chat link cable, plugged into my Elgato HD60s+, into my PS5 controller. separate Yeti mic for the chat audio. (this all worked flawlessly, other than constantly messing with mic/game sliders to make everyone happy. So what i did tonight was probably a bit hasty, that's why it didn't work anywhere near how i wanted, in fact i just added a source of the Wave 1 to just use mic, didn't or couldn't get any of the wave software to work. I also had to have the chat link connected in its usual way into the controller.(only way to get ps5 audio to push to my stream and me) So i will now explain what i did tonight and were i think the problems lies, and hopefully you guys can help me in some way. Disconnected old Yeti, removed from OBS. Connected Wave 1, and followed introductory video, to get my main OBS settings to output the mic to wave1, and i indeed got the mic/aux to show up in OBS, and i could hear my voice perfectly through the headphones. (ONLY when plugged into wave 1,as i was testing, don't forget I'm going to need to plug headphones into PS5 controller for me and audience to get game sound, unless the channels can help in some way) So here is were i think the first major problems started. I don't or didn't understand what main windows audio settings i needed for my set up, especially the main input/output section at the top as the wavelink intro video shows you. In the end i ended up just using the wave in OBS as a source, and was back to how i used my yeti.(not what i want obviously haven't spent this much on the wave 1) So here is were i need help with, probably all of it tbh, but ill do a list.... 1. what main windows settings do i need for input/output when going through the wave software to windows audio. 2. how do i now get my PS5 audio to broadcast to me and my audience?? through wavelink 3. how do i now add channels within wave software to set my system up so i can use the software as intended, and hopefully have a way of controlling all my game and audio levels to audience and me.
Booting up WaveLink causes static and sometimes stuttered/corrupted audio system wide. It goes away when I close the program, but as long as it's up, it causes this to whatever output I choose. Idk what's happening here??
For people who have mics already, this software should be able to be bought and used for any one. It’s silly that you can’t use this software with other mics. Bad move on elgato’s part... selling the software would bring in more revenue than the mic itself
Dudes.. Dudettes.. This is some corporation BS! A company releases “an amazing” program that will make your content easier to handle! Instead of competing with other Freeware/ Donationware they say, “no, no, no, if you don’t have our mic it won’t load, load, load.” So, basically you need to spend $100’s of dollars for a program. The mic isn’t that great, it won’t beat a decent (and up) XLR mic so a lot of people won’t switch. Also, the Blue Yeti is one of the most popular mic’s for new and upcoming streamers (and pro’s) and ones who care have already made their streams sound amazing. Voicemeeter Banana kicks ass (I know it can be difficult to learn) and an external mixer will be the best thing; hardware beats software. Obviously there are arguments for either side but you don’t see professional DJ’s, artists and performers using Voicemeeter Banana or a GoXLR. Dr Dre doesn’t use Fruity Loops! Even electronic synth wave music is created on hardware and tweaked via software. I’m annoyed that a company makes this seem so amazing with the “if you don’t have our mic it won’t work” attitude acting like anybody and everybody can just get this new mic. Most people, look at the Elgato videos about their new mic, are talking about the software not the mic. It also annoys me that Elgato has been out of stock on products since the beginning of the year, since before COVID and instead of talking about that or how they’re going to fix that they release a new product. I bet the software will cost $49.99 when and if it’s released as a lone product. Elgato makes good products for content creators but greed (and Corsair) has made this company about profit, not the creator. Congrats on the new product, if newcomers need a mic and don’t have the other equipment, than this is a good buy. But dang nabbit, you didn’t do shit for the loyal Elgato fans who don’t need a mic but could use software like this. Dudes and dudettes, have a good’n!
I don't have a Wave Mic but I have a Stream Deck+ and it seems Wave Link can be used with just this. Not sure what that means? Does it mean the mixing hardware that used to be in the Wave Mic is also now in the Stream Deck+? Do I need to plug the Stream Deck+ into a USB3 (red) port? I currently have it in a USB2 (blue) port and it seems to be working??
I know this video says that wireless headphones work with the Wave Link software, but I've been having so much trouble trying to get my Arctis Pro wireless headset working with Wave Link. There are no videos on youtube that cover this and I can't find anything about why this headset in particular with the DAC attached doesn't work with the Wave Link software. I can find the Arctis Wireless Pro Game and Chat sources in Wave Link but when I connect them no audio goes through my headset at all no matter what. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
Hi I just got my Wave 3 but I have this issue where my stream mix is just not working. Theres no sound or output going out through the stream mix. I checked every source and none of them is muted. How do I fix it? Also I can't click on the 'ear' icon to monitor it or the 'sound' icon doesnt have any lines (?) please help idk what to do..
you actually can if you put a aux cable 3.5 mm cable from output on the mic to line input on other pc but i would add a hum destroyer filter between mic and other pc
Be really cool if this thing didnt pick up sounds from 2 houses away. Also, Lowcut filter seemingly does nothing for my PC fans that are 3 feet away. So far this is a $150 piece of crap lol
That's only if you have the gain all the way up on the microphone. From 0 to 100,I have mine on 38 and it's perfect. Keep in mind I live in a noisy neighborhood and I actually just got this mic yesterday.
Im having issues with the audio, im trying to use a USB headset that its connected to my PC but i cant hear anything, i can only listen if i connect my headphones to the back of the microphone (Wave 3). Can i please get some assistance?
Hi, looks great!. But what about noises in the background? I'm doing sim racing and my Shifter is very loud (magnet Shifter). It's not usable as a Directional microphone,I isn't it?
I recommend using RTX Voice as a noise removal layer if you have an NVIDIA card from the last 6 years. even a GTX 1050TI can run it now that they put out an official version for GTX cards
Hello! I have a problem with WaveLink. Small but annoying. I configured the Wave 3 microphone with Windows 10 as recommended. Everything works fine except the effects. When I make voice settings on the Elgato EQ, I can't hear them in the headphones. As if they are not turned on at all, but the effect icon indicates that it is turned on. The same goes for other effects. The same effects enabled in Audacity works fine. What is the reason for this? I will be grateful for any help.
Is there a way i can control it physicaly, i dont want to have to open the software mid stream, it would be nice to have something like the goxlr but just 6 faders but if you click a button itll switch to the broadcast symble or the headset symble, and can mute it or unmute and can link then or unlink, if you can that would be nice because from what i know there is nothing that can do that
just make the software without microphone lock lol .. it will be a great pr for you , everybody will hear your name and praise you as a good company who cares.
How do you hide the default channels from the windows sound mixer? Anytime I open my sound mixer it shows system, game, etc even though I don't use them
