Better still, a new knobs, pots and front panel set, so that every time they release a new synth, just unbolt the front panel and shove new knobs on, and it’s all new!
May I ask what drum machine you used in the intro ? ( In the beginning in the lower left corner it says - all sounds by Behronher Cat except drum sounds ) So it'd be nice if you could shade some light what drum machine you used. Thanks and greetings.✌🏽👍🏽
I have a non working version (got it in 1982) and all the knobs and sliders were black and white. It looked much cooler. But behringer certainly did a good job and the patch sockets in the top right interest me.
@@Paradroidx Could be ,but the prices makes it possible to buy more without dropping other gear ,oh yes, i´m a synth hoarder, don´t want to be cured, and now i want a new pet!
A college friend and I joint-purchased an original of these back in 1980, agreeing to have our half-ownership every other year - he had first dibs. That was 40 years ago - we lost contact and I'm still awaiting my turn....
A masterpiece of re-engineering! Thank you for making my birthday an awesome day! Thank you so much and Happy New Year MusicTribe team! ...and have a Happy New Year to all you other Synth-heads out there!
When the first rumors emerged of Behringer planning to clone vintage analog synths, many folks were skeptical, including myself. But you folks at Behringer went ahead & delivered! The best of all is that we get to enjoy near to perfect clones with the advantage of modern day DSP on top of near to identical sounding clones! Way to go & all the best for the coming decade; Behringer!
I looked at "a lot" of synths and synth modules this year. This one was shipped to me as a Christmas present and I am really happy to be able to use it on an upcoming album for 2021 release. There is something about this one.. that just sounds "awesome" to me.. it's got that "old school" late 70's/early 80's sound to it, and I am really happy to be getting this. Happy Holidays and Season Greetings! - "So says MrTom... and so it was written.."
For the first time last night I spent quality time with my RD8; and I'm in punch drunk love with it... Now I can't stop thinking about adding a Wasp and TD3 and you come up with this? Have mercy.
I'm not getting these modules, why? Because my guts say they will release these modules with a keyboard, just as what they did with the Model D. That one was very unexpected but damn I can't keep up with them. The drums in the demo sound like a Linndrum, it could be a tease you never know with Behringer.
@@padmad3k63 This is precisely my thinking. I really want to get this module but part of me suspects that a keyboard unit will be on its way, which I'd prefer. But who knows? Selling a module however far down the line wouldn't be so bad. And there isn't any guarantee that a keyboard unit is coming
@@AndrewThacker The Poly D got preordered 10 000 times right when you could preorder it. I read somewhere that Uli was surprised about this fact, so my guess is they'll release the modules with a keyboard but they won't tease it so much just like how they did with the Poly D. The problem I had with the Model D module was that there wasn't much space between some of the knobs. I haven't bought any of their modules anymore but if they release their modules with a keyboard it will be an instant buy for me.
Sweet heavens man; don't encourage them! I just rearranged my studio to accommodate the RD8 and can't stop thinking about the TD3 and the Wasp, now this!
They've hinted they're working on it little before 3 minutes in to the Michael Jackson Video cover video in July edit for link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-oVxZ1Lrspck.html&t=172
This is so BEAUTIFUL OMG - for many years my dad's Octave Cat from 78 has been in my rig - added to that, a Deepmind 12 since 2018 - so *HOLY SH*T* THAAAAAANK YOU.
@@josephwright5921 I didn't say anything negative about that. I love what they are doing. Just making a point that it isn't like they are developing synths at that rate. That's all.
I'd love to see some clones of old USSR synths. They're so expensive and rare, and you can't really service them, so a Behringer clone would be absolutely ideal
Dear Uli & the whole Behringer team, have a blessed 2020. Much love from Amsterdam. If you are ever doing an accurate LinnDrum and an LM-1 version (or a unit combining both or at least combining features of both) and have Roger Linn involved, that would be another priceless moment in drum machine history
Behringer is killing it right about now. Well done Uri - a true pioneer in reverse engineering! I can see Behringer being the top of the tree. All the best for 2020 and beyond.
This dude is cool, and so is this video you guys are killing it, love it . My dream synth from you would be a Behringer super analog poly, multiple osc and filter flavors , multi timbral, cross mod and ringmod, something feature rich and on par with VA synths capabilities. But dont get me wrong i love all these mono synths too, im going to get this one. Wonder if you guys are going to do an odyssey in this format ? Happy New Year !!!
Wow, nice sounds. The beauty of this beast is you have great way of modulate the sound, because midi can lagg if your tweaking more than 1 parameter simultaniously, also nice with tactile controls like this.
I would suggest starting with the Pro One. I have an MS 20 already and a Neutron. I think the Pro One has the most diverse range of useful sounds from sweet to strange.
Denis T Just get Model D used for cheap and then worry about comparing the other models. A lot of people bought the D and don’t get what it’s for and how it’s used, selling them for even cheaper than they go for already.
No kidding. That synth was designed by the guy who built the EDP Wasp which Behringer just released. I had two wasps. Never got to hear the OSCar, but I remember wanting one.
I had one in around '87 - a mate got one new in the firesale when they went under .It ended up being mine. Sounded amazing but I had no clue what I was doing with it and sold it after a year.
You guys should bring back the MPC1000. A lot of people will buy it, including myself ! If you are all killing it with synths you definitely must try vintage samplers too !
I remember the days when people used to say like: "Oh yeah, well right... Behringer... THAT stuff". But mannnn... what an excellent progression have they gone through in the years, coming up with more and more awesome machines. Keep it up Behringer! Love it.
Love THIS.. it looks like the "Octave Cat". I got the "BEHRINGER Crave" for Christmas. I may have to pick this one up for my birthday in 2020 ! Happy New Year BEHRINGER ! Thank You for setting the pace and blazing the trail for 2020! - "So says MrTom, and so it was written..."
@@padmad3k63 LOL, when you are as vernerble as I am... you keep going forward with new gear. A lot of people don't know me, but I'm actually a first gen' synth player. I actually co-written music with some of the "original creators" of New Wave, Ambient and Alternative/Industrial genres. I record mainly commercially licensed music as a composer under professional rights organization BMI, Inc. And some for retail sale. And oh.. The Crave is not warm, it HOT synth. @@MrTom-Songwriter-Composer Nice track reminds me of an AMIGA, gave you a thumbs up. I love 80s music however in Europe Synthwave isn't that popular, I'm not a big fan of Synthwave it's rare to find great Synthwave songs. I like Euro Disco and Space way more. They should release a keyboard version of all their modules, Poly Crave, Poly One, Poly Neutron, Poly K2. Poly WASP, Poly Cat kinda like what they did with the Poly D.
@@padmad3k63 Thanks, with the square wave on the Crave, to me it can sound like the good old Commodore 64 SID chip. I totally agree with you that making a poly version of all the monophonic versions / modules with a full size keyboard. Have a great upcoming weekend.
I think announcing is a more accurate way to describe Behringer, a lot of these dont ship (launch) for months or even years after. There are exceptions of course but for the majority it's just hype and disappointment when you cant get the products. Very frustrating tbh
Any one else in debt because of this company!!! HAHAHA...Love it. You guys continue to blow my flippin' sizzlin' synth mind! Now we just need a Behringer Model P6 (I think everyone in this thread get's the reference) and my synthwave dream list is complete...well probably not. I never thought i'd live in a world where I get to be a part of such wonderful and inclusive wave of synths that so many of us have dreamed of and can actually afford!!! Currently own the Deepmind, Odessey, Model D, MS-1, Rd-8 and have the Poly-D and TD-3 on pre-order. Now I need this ...AHHHH!!!
It's cool you're making new mono synths all the time but can you finish/give a release date for the 909 clone? It's the only product of yours I actually want, because I don't need a 3rd mono synth.
NoAiceeee:) will buy! Dream of a DX7 with stereo 12bitDAC in THIS FORMAT and more control plus analog filters from the OBX,ARP and Pro 1 hehehe or 2 of them. with an illuminated logo (BX7) and the sliders of the odessey with green lighting. Weirs that can be controlled via midi are also nice. And of course more waveforms than the original. Thx that you are there❤️
I’d love to see you guys make a semi modular wavetable synth! With a mini SD card slot to load new tables. Or a two oscillator semi modular one that’s sampler/granular the other wavetable :D
That would be amazing!!!!!!! That’s what I want, sure analog is great, but the textures from something with wavetables and granular would be just what I want!!!
Maybe a proper DX7 clone (not like the crippled Korg volca), with onboard effects, perhaps in a DeepMind style package??? Or DX11, or SY77. I guess I could get a MODX, but I hate the user interface. Sounds great, but every time I’m in front of one, the panel is overwhelming.
Roboprogs I agree, the MODX is powerful, but it comes in the form factor of a performance/workstation which I’d like for touring, but not for sound designing. So you’re spot on, blending many under-appreciated types of synthesis together in one knobby interface would just be what I’d want honestly!
Noir Et Blanc Vie I guess the irony for me is that I program computers for a living, and only do music as a hobby - local open mic sort of thing. I don’t want recreational gear that looks like a programming puzzle, lol. Yamaha makes great sounding stuff, but the panels are always undifferentiated masses of chicklet buttons. In contrast, my Roland Juno DS, while not quite as nice sounding as say an MX61, has a panel that makes sense without memorizing a manual: performance knobs and sliders grouped on the left, patch / category selection and set editing menu in the center, rhythm/pattern/backing track control on the right. Each controls group has distinctive, well labeled, appropriate, controls. Hoping to find a nice entry/mid level FM synth some time, but Yamaha’s latest doesn’t look fun to work with, as well as the extra PCM features adding to the cost.
I've given up on trying to stop myself from buying more monosynths. I'll just layer them all together to make a bastardized poly sound. The Cat sounds so awesome, it's an obvious must-have for me. Can you guys make Moog Minitaur? I think it's a real stand-out.
Noob here - how exactly does this work? Did the patents for all these old circuit designs expire or something and now Behringer can just reproduce them?
i think for a circuit design to be patentable, it has to be novel. that's also why yamaha used FM but roland used LA, iirc? these old synth are standard enough to the point where you can copy the circuitry, but obviously not the name and the design. see the odyssey; despite korg just having re-released it as the "ARP Odyssey", there's nothing stopping Behringer from making a clone of the circuitry, as long as it doesn't infringe on the "ARP ODYSSEY" trademark that korg owns
Hello everyone. My name is Tom. I am here at this A.A. ( Analogue Anonymous) meeting today. I accept this thing I cannot change, but with the help of the Deep Mind 12 step program......
I just purchased the Behringer CAT and the Pro 1. I’m excited to create music with these beautiful machines as well I own the Behringer Wasp and Neutron. Thank you Behringer for such an amazing experience in creating music. 🦇🦇🦇
So i pulled the trigger on it and i like it so far. I am just a bit disappointed that there is no retrigger or legato option. Apart from that, having fun, trying to come up with nice patches and taking pictures. It is my first No Save synth! Do you first tune the synth to A using Oscillator 2 Fine Tune? I would assume Osc 2 stays as the reference since Osc 1 syncs to Osc 2. You can check a couple of patches such as @ for more traditional sound. Cats can meow and blow too.
It's way too small to play anything serious on it, the Waldorf KB37 would be a better option. Or even better if they released them in the same format as the Poly D.
BEHRINGER reminds me of the same thing that Samsung went through years ago. Terrible, budget friendly product for years.......come out with a couple of solid winners, and then finally an onslaught of goodness. Well done Behringer! I was one of your younger customers (2000) with the $79 Euro mixer and it's been fun following this journey with you. (X32 + Stagebox owner now)
