Hey Evelyn, just started intuitive eating,after I fell into the eating healthy diet mentality, I'm 65 years young and I love to cook and bake from scratch,I just had a homemade hamburger bun with my adult kids,I stopped eating bread for almost 5cyears already listening to people on youtube telling how bad bread is,I have stopped listening to those videos,and feel like I'm on my way to recovery, how long does it take? I'm still fighting to eat whatever my body wants,and find myself trying to go back,but I am a fighter and by god I'm gonna fight back to get my health back on track,thank you for your videos they are so inspiring 🥰

So grateful to have found this. I've been on many diets and am overweight/obese. it's kind of scary not to have rules and i don't trust myself yet. I had been suppressing those natural eating impulses for years - i'd see fresh green beans in the grocery store and crave them but not buy them! i need to get the weight off as i feel it is really a drag on my health. recently my youngest cat died quiet unexpectedly and i lost my appetite. It's not good not to eat so i started to buy prepared food - not the best but still food. i bought a roasted chicken at the grocery store and i wolfed it down - didn't even bother to sit down for dinner! so no more diets - this time doing strength exercise and acv and trying intuitive eating. today i ate an omlette for the first time in weeks as i wanted high quality protein and i've been enjoying it and thinking about it all day - how good it was and yes was satisfying. And I'm not a huge "egg person."

Wow at 65 i can finally eat whatever i want 😋 and not feel bad about it....its high time and i feel sooooo darn good about it!! No more wasted time and years....living FREE

Such a good point about the pandemic. I started eating disorder treatment recently and we've only just had a major COVID scare here - I found my emotions really rising up and I was having to face them as part of what I've been working on. I had that experience of making food for the family and sitting down to eat it but then just feeling nauseated at the idea because I was experiencing so many rolling emotions at that time. And then of course I had to deal with my anxieties over leftovers/waste. It's nice to think more compassionately toward myself and remember that working toward recovery right now is probably harder than it would have been 2 years ago!
