Saw them a few times in the 90s, and actually met Michael Hutchence a couple of times. I was part of a fan-composed “lighting crew” on stage for a song during the Full Moon Dirty Hearts tour. He was such a shy, sweet man when we chatted backstage, in stark contrast to the audacious swagger he exhibited onstage. On this song in particular, he’s got this way of tricking you into not realizing he’s singing as high as he actually is, especially considering he’s a natural baritone. He hits an A on the “love, baby, love” line at the end, but his voice is so rich and thick it feels like he’s still in his lower register. Bono of U2 said he had one of the best voices he’s ever heard. And if you saw them live, in person, you saw it on full display. Amazing

I went to a concert in 1983 to see Men at Work in a smaller (10,000 seat) venue. We had no idea who "INXS", the opening act, was! They did have a hit already with "Don't Change" but weren't really well known. They totally rocked and, needless to say, it wasn't long before they completely blew up! "Don't Change" would make a great reaction, Biss!

There's a reason this band was known for being one of the greatest live acts of the day. Looking back at this show, I would go as far as to say they were one of the greatest live acts EVER. PLEASE do more from this performance. Suicide Blonde, What You Need, Original Sin, Lately, Bitter Tears. I mean, you really cannot make a poor choice. Heads up, be careful if you choose the live version of Never Tear Us Apart. One of them is an album dub of the live performance. Only one is truly live.

Hello Bisscute, what an incredible testimony you have presented to us, of this great interpretation of New Sensation. Furthermore, it is impressive that someone with that great voice, that interpretive ability, with that charisma, sensuality and enigmatic personality, ended his days in such a sad way, which began when he hit his head against the pavement in a street fight, causing him a fissure in the skull, among other damages, which apparently was the origin of a change in his personality, which added to his consumption of cocaine, alcohol, heroin and antidepressants, led him to have a progressive deterioration in his behavior, until day of his suicide in his hotel room. The INXS group was no longer the same and ended up dissolving in 2012 after 35 years of activity. Both the great performance and the title of the song itself, New Sensation, undoubtedly portray the hedonistic philosophy of the unforgettable Michael Hutchence, but he and INXS will survive his great work, for the pleasure of us all. I suggest for a future reaction to the group Fleetwood Mac performing Dreams. Greetings and a big hug from Mexico City.

There are so many songs from that concert I could recommend. Probably the best live performance ever recorded. Depends on you're mood. Devil Inside is the last song of the night and man do they go out with a bang. If you you want something more romantic By My Side or The Loved One. You can't go wrong really. Still a massive fan base around the world and especially in South America and Australia of course.

Clips like this remind you it was like another band member in the best concerts - the way it added so much to the atmosphere! "New Sensation" wasn't one of my favourite InXS songs, but it was probably their most internationally famous and it's a classic which is guaranteed to get people moving.

INXS are so good because they honed their craft playing the pub circuit in Australia, paid peanuts, night after night playing in dingy smoke filled pubs with sticky carpets. You didn't survive if you didn't pull the patrons in, and if you were good enough you got a contract to cut an album and your music was promoted. Unfortunately I think today the marketing comes before the music and you end up with a few marketers driving the creativity (or lack of) and everything sounding the same.
