NOTE: I need to update this video but since I've recorded this I've changed my recommendation for Iodine dosage. All you need is 1 mg Iodine or less per day. Any more than that can be toxic.
Hey, David. Thanks so much for being a blessing with your expertise. You are much appreciated from so many people. We are all afraid of taking too much. David, you said to post and you would get back to us on an answer, so I am taking you up on that with MUCH appreciation! David, I have Alzheimer’s AND Parkinson’s disease. I take Lion’s Mane 3 times a day along with other herbs and supplements. My question is you said if we had a particular illness we might need more than a normal amount of iodine. Lugol’s directions says to take 3 drops. Listening today to you that sounds like way too much to take. Hope you can get back to me on how much iodine to take. Thanks, David.
Every study I read these days shows we need less than 1 mg Iodine per day. That would mean one drop of Lugol's 2% every second day. Please see my video on Parkinson's Disease on this channel: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-EBO2syZc15U.html And I have a section on Alzheimer's in this video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-s2OBsI4qtxo.html
Thanks so much, David, for getting back to me about correct dosage of iodine. I was feeling fear about using too much iodine. You gave me the information I need and I will follow your directions explicitly. Thanks again, David!
Good day sir, Thank you for the information about iodine, you mentioned that it is "fat soluble" and want to make sure if that's an unintentional mistake, everywhere I read it is said that iodine is water soluble. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you❤
Iodine is technically water soluble but does not dissolve easily in water. Best to take it with a healthy fat or oil or with a meal to make sure it gets into your system.
I have J. Crow's 2% and 5% iodine. How many drops should I take daily? Thank you for an informative video. I have a chronic inflammation (arthritis) and need a good memory to pass the CA bar exam.
I recently had a blood panel done, which included TSH / T4, the markers showed they were in healthy range, but I've been struggling with low mood/anxiety/lack of sleep/brain fog etc and tried a few drops of lugols iodine the last few days and feel a good bit better. Not sure why it's helping as my TSH/T4 seemed ok? Thyroid problems and iodine seeme to be all I read about, but I think it must help other stuff as well.
Andrew, TSH and T4 do NOT indicate thyroid health. They are useless measurements. You need Free T3, Free T4, and Reverse T3. Free T3 is the thyroid found in everyone of your cells body and brain. I suggest checking out the website Stop the Thyroid Madness and look for her page on how to read your own labs. Because if you had that short term success with iodine it sounds like you are hypothyroid. And will not get relief from low mood/anxiety/sleep/brain fog until you get your thyroid levels optimal.
