I agree it's a little clunky in the ioniq6 although after having a Model 3 for a few years it's great to get into a vehicle that doesn't feel like an appliance. This is really the only thing that have had issues with apart from so many beta feeling things in the Tesla. (not that many admit like you saying this)

Entire point is criticism of software against competitors and ease of use. It may be easy for you, but if it could be easier for others that’s valuable.

The app does everything the Tesla app does however the Tesla app has a better UI. One click per function instead of three and live status (realtime) on one screen. I agree with the review from Chris in that this app is a good attempt however needs a lot more investment particularly when it is being shared across multiple brands / platforms, even more reason to get it perfect for the best user experience. The good news is Hyundai / Kia can make these changes in the background and roll out a fresh UI for consumers.

I just try and tell it like it is. The Tesla and Polestar apps make this look really bad, so I could have been even more critical if I did side by side video. Hyundai Australia are aware of the video and hopefully they'll take some of my constructive critism onboard and improve it for everyone. IONIQ 6 review out this Saturday.

@@chrisvanderstock even Tesla can do much better. Gone are the days of static cars. If my fridge can get new features so should our cars.

Not sure what phone you are using but the app opens in less than 3 seconds for me.

In Germany, you don't get access to the vehicle's camera. I would guess, that's connected to our strict privacy laws.

I thought Bluelink is based on Bluetooth which means that you need to be in the range of the car for you to control it. Has this changed?

It's definitely connected to the cloud. I was frequently doing remote climate starts when away from the car, home and/or wifi. The IONIQ 6 has 5 years of data connectivity.

I saw the following video which is 1 year old where a Hyundai employee proudly explains that it is based off Bluetooth technology and provides a faster response because it doesn't connect to a server in the cloud.
