Really not enough to have an opinion on Apple Intelligence. It’s just summaries and text suggestions. It’s convenient, but far from a reason to upgrade. Glad my 15 Pro has it.
To be honest, I just really like the new Siri animation. Why I updated to beta, two days ago. I waited as long as I could for battery purposes. Had a bad experience with ios17 beta on 13 pm.
Oh my, I took the test and had a 32db hearing loss, and I had no idea. I'm almost choked up to how much better I can hear right now. I am hearing so much better and things I haven't heard for probably decades. (Just turned 50)
That’s because most apps finally now support it. Using Amazon in earlier builds would transform my 15 pro into a George Foreman Grill. 99% of battery issues out there are due to unoptimized apps. Betas are betas for a reason.
@@chezchezchezchez The rear camera assembly, flatter edges, Dynamic Island, and material changes are pretty substantial when added together. The iPhone X and iPhone 16 Pro look *completely* different.

do you face any issues on ios 18.0.1? i have this kinda battery drain. but fr ios 18 battery backup was good and this latest ios version ruined it. hope to get the good battery backup again on ios 18.1
People are not changing iPhones the way they used to. Mine for example is 4Y old and have no intention to go for 16. Point is, need slightly more emphasis on older phones as far as adaptability with new developments is concerned. Great piece Aaron, as always. God bless
I do the odd years now. Used to do them (mostly all) until the X..then the 11Pro, 13Pro and now 15Pro. Hopefully the 17Pro is decent.....but I wont hold my breath.....
For real. My previous iPhone was 8 Plus, which has been serving since 2017. And not only that, my phone had 4 owners before me. I used it since 2020 and still it’s working,but the capacity is 76% and starting to be laggy. Now I am using 15 pro, so waiting for another 5-6 years👍🏿
I am gonna stay on 17.7. I realised using a phone without/minimal bugs and good battery life is better than seeing OS version increase with 0 visual experience enhancement and tons of bugs with shitty battery life.
I had a problem with my iPhone 16 pro max when taking selfies where I would get a tiny thumbnail image when reviewing the photo I took. I have read about others with the same problem. This seems to have been fixed in this update as I can’t replicate it now. 👍
@zollotech I updated to 18.1 Beta 7 and my Siri reverted to the old one. Apple intelligence is turned on. No fancy lights around the edge or double tap at the bottom. What gives? iPhone 16pro max
Hi Aaron! Just finished installing this version and am now watching your vid to see what's new. I do not have the RCS Business Messages option on mine, and I'm wondering if it's due to my provider (Straight Talk/Trac Phone Wireless on the Verizon network). I would think if they didn't support it that I just wouldn't be able to turn it on, but the option just isn't there.
Yes, it’s typically the larger carriers that have support for that even though the smaller MVNO carriers are using things like Verizon, they still don’t have it
Has no one experienced major problems with Apple Music? Since updating to IOS 18 newly added songs to playlists will appear at the bottom no matter filter for orientation. Also, airplaying to a speaker will sometimes just lose audio for a whole song while still appearing to play. Additionally, when trying to move the songs from the bottom of playlists to the top after addition the whole app crashes. This typically happens after having moved one song and trying on a second
Same issue here with me I’m with 18.1 RC, the proper FW on the AirPods and my language is Spanish, I’m in Europe , and the region is set to USA. My AirPods Pro 2 are lightning.
Apart from launching the camera, the camera button is totally useless. It takes you longer to navigate the menu than it would do just to use the button on the screen. I moved from a 14pro max to the 16 pro max I definitely wouldn’t call it an upgrade.
Reporting my IP15 PM on 18.1 has a Bluetooth bug impacting my car key which is a huge impact to me and I will be backing off early updates for this reason.
I downloaded IPSW 18.1 and installed it on 16PM using iTunes and the emojis are not broken here, but note that the phone seems a bit smoother than when I was using 18.0.1.
my apple intelligence is not working, apparently it seems like its still loading something, not sure. I have to turn intelligence off to get the regular siri to respond.
still have bugs in control center (landscape mode) layout bug and transition glitches, if you planning to update to 18.1 just no. stay in 18.0.1 or 17.7 they are stable
My keyboard is lagging whenever I use WhatsApp. Additionally, my predictive texts are appearing on the top left corner of the screen. Is there any solution to it? It started when I switched to IOS 18.
Might be best to turn off beta updates right away if you want to stay on iOS 18.1. You can always turn it on again if needed anytime. If you leave it on beta however, it might update to 18.2 beta 1 if they release it in the meantime, and then you'll need to manually restore it. That being said, thank you so much for making these videos!
I apologize if I missed this in the video, but i am on iOS 18.1 beta 7. I want to get off the betas but don't want to restore and deal with all the nonsense. Will i be able to update my iPhone from beta 7 to the official release next week?
Update today to the RC. The RC is the public version in unless there’s additional issues they need to fix. It’s the same that releases to the public next week so you should just update to it and you’ll be on the final version unless they have one more fix for it
I have a question in regards to beta profiles, if I install the RC then turn off the profile, if RC2 is released will I get it once the update is released or will I have to turn the profile on again?
I am unable to receive push notifications with sound and vibration on the lock screen of my iPhone 16 Pro Max. The issue occurs because the notifications are being routed to my connected Apple Watch, which is set to 'Do Not Disturb.' As a result, the notifications are silenced on my Apple Watch. My workaround has been to turn off Bluetooth on the Apple Watch, tricking the iPhone into thinking the watch is disconnected, which then pushes the notification to my iPhone's lock screen.
As far as I can see iOS 18.1 is only a bug fix release for a lot of European countries. From now on IOS releases are only interesting for a few selected markets.
One additional thing that it fixed for me is, that before I was no longer able to use noise cancellation with only one airpod - only transparent mode was possible. Thanks for all your great videos - it‘s really appreciated!
I work in the legal field in the Netherlands, and I really wonder why they are not releasing the call recording feature in the European Union. They may still just be analyzing the privacy regulations, but I don’t think there should be any problems with the GPDR since the caller is being notified of the recording.
I'm not sure if it's still something related to the RC, but now you can also add an alias iCloud email as primary. However, it will not change it on iCloud mail (it remains the former one), and your iCloud mail server goes offline even though the iCloud website. I've changed it back to the former primary email, and it's working. It's a bit weird that you can change it, but at the same time, you can't use an alias...
I have an issue in iOS 18 that when I search for RU-vid it doesn’t suggest RU-vid and only shows RU-vid music. However it does show in th3 app list when you type RU-vid
iOS 18.1 RC is the official version unless there’s additional bugs that they need to fix then they release an RC too, which happens from time to time. If they don’t release it then it is the final version. You just get it early.
you know what i don’t understand & it’s actually bugging me. the fact i have an iphone 15 and can’t get apple intelligence but they keep sending out updates for us to update it to get ready for apply intelligence
if youre in canada you need to set your set your language to us english in the siri settings and change your region to united states under general > language and region
Aaron, do you think Airpods Pro 2 USB-C are worth it? RN I use the QCY HT-05's, but honestly, I love how apple does it's thing, connection between devices are a big thing.
I have an iPhone 16 Pro and I just finally made the decision to update to the latest beta for 18.1 and I am absolutely loving it took forever for the initial download of Apple Intelligence but well worth it even at this stage. A lot of errors and issues beyond what I’ve heard even on this video have been resolved such as going through videos playback editing etc. these things have been far more smoother and have seem to go back to an older way of viewing there isn’t a hitch or a lag when I go from regular viewing of my photos to deleting or editing very smooth animations overall battery seems to be well phone initially was hot but now seems cool and stable thank you Aaron for all that you do keep up the good work.
Do you have any guesses as to why the release notes are so bad/sparse? Many, many bugs and issues never are acknowledged, even when directly reporting them in the feedback app. At this point I'm giving less and less feedback because it doesn't seem to be read either way :/ GPS and WiFi pretty much unusable on Beta 7, will update and see if that changes. Without a modem update I doubt it though, unless it's all just in iOS
You’re not wrong about that one because a send a multiple feedback about the focus on VoiceOver swiping so unstable the boundary, which sounds so bulky and annoying like broken apart and that like seven times over the summer and now but it has not been fixed so this point, I just quit it

I'm running iOS 18.0.1 on my iPhone Pro Max and am wondering if I should update to iOS 18.1 when it comes out on Monday, cause I'm affected by the display/touch issue that isn't resolved for me on 18.0.1. I just keep updating to those betas for the chance of using ai features, it never works out and im left with unoptimized beta software. Changing region doesn't make any difference.
With the ear tip fit test, I always have the left one saying to adjust or change ear tips but the right one is fine. No matter what I do without changing the ear tips it will do this. They are both the default medium size and they are comfortable in my ear
I've been having pretty bad time with previous betas, making my 16 pro last for 4-7h TOTAL (sot and background), pretty horrible if you ask me. Yesterday i restored to 18.0.1 and did a clean reinstall with all my usual apps and settings. Today on a first day i got 10h total with 20% left. I am done with betas, new features are absolutely not worth it.
So do I need to upgrade my iPhone 15 to higher new spec to get full AI? Why I’m asking as I have a severe Brain Injury and the speech to text feature struggles to understand my voice since my accident over 7 years ago.
Just wait till the 28th and you will get the final update that will be released for the public. Turn off Beta updates to make sure you get the public version of the ios 18.1
Anyone else still noticing issues with their stickers previously created and newly created failing to load/save? I can’t get stickers to work at all since updating to iOS 18 (and all through the 18.1 betas including the RC)
