I must say, I've watched, read, and listened to everything Barack.. still doesn't stop me from getting chills during the first 2 minutes of this video. Those 2 minutes are two of his best.
He is NOT just another politician. A 24 year old Barack Obama passed over lucrative job offers (6,7 digit fiqures) to work as a community organizer to help the poor and downtrodden who had lost their jobs when steel plants were closed down in Chicago, 20 yrs. ago. It's a characteristic inherited/learned, perhaps, from his Mother who spent most of her live helping the disadvantaged and voiceless. This man REALLY cares about changing America to benefit ALL of its citizens. Pray he wins.
As a University of Iowa student I had the chance to see Barack Obama speak several times. This being said, I believe that Mr. Obama has the drive and the fresh ideas to reunite this country and improve how the rest of the world views the United States. It is because of these reasons and more that I drove more than 2 hours to caucus for Barack. OBAMA 2008
Obama won the Democratic nomination! Thank you Iowa for starting this and instilling hope in the rest of the country that it could be done. YES WE CAN! Obama 08
Obama is the type of leader that injects hope , enthusiasm and vision to the rest of us. He makes us feel that we can achieve more than we sometimes never think to strive towards. Few people in our nation's history have done that. Having Obama as President, Americans will be inspired to work hard to revive the spirit of this country.
This is truly a historical moment in this country. I love how Obama's speech is themed around being the underdog. I always believed that he was going to beat Hillary. But now the nation is starting to see it. He's so charismatic, genuine and has a better understanding of world issues than any other candidate. How can you not support him? Go Obama! New Hampshire is next!
wow...this speach came close to bringing a tear to my eye...bcuz once ur one of the ppl that needs that change it finally feels good to know there's a president out there that genuinly wants to help you.
I was watching his speech in Canada and I believe that he is really inspirational and he connects with those he is addressing his speech to. He could change history in the United States and give the nation the changes that it needs to become a better nation. He would be a great president and I believe he will give what USA needs.
So far we as Africans are waiting for the americans to make the right move and vote for the one and only Barack Obama as he is the best thing in History of the americans and african states...God shall give him the power to be the best leader...shine on Obama shine on and bring hapines and changes to the whole universe.
This speech brings tears to my eyes & hope & belif to my heart God Bless This Man I feel like god has delivered him to us for a common positive purpose. He is officially in my eyes "The Peoples Champ"
Wow. THAT, my friends, was an amazingly powerful speech. No matter whether you support Obama or are backing a different candidate, you have to admit that his message is compelling. It IS time for change, and we, as Americans, should always hope for a better future. I've been undecided up until this point--I like the three leading Dems AND Giuliani, however this speech has me strongly leaning Obama. It's nice to be inspired again.
I'm not even American, but his patriotic 'Just Words' speech actually brought tears to my eyes the first time I heard it. I can only imagine how Americans felt!
As a fellow Kenyan, Obama's victory is even sweeter, in addition to the step that is being taken in the right direction for the USA. Obama is in there '08
Obama gave me a new hope to carry on, to think of the best of our country and say that we can make a change together as one, not single nor separately, but together. I can't wait for him to finally be president!
Amazing speech, I got goosebumps on at least 5 occasions. Part Dr. King, part John Kennedy, but most importantly, a big part that is uniquely him. Who could ask for a better man to be our next president? I've jumped over from the Edwards camp for good. I'm a convert. Obama '08!
This is one of the best political speeches any politician has ever given. Not only did he wipe the floor with Hillary Clinton at the polls, but he did so in accepting victory. If the Democrats don't nominate Obama for president and help him win, they might as well just close up shop in this country. America needs this guy.
this is without a doubt, growing up in the 80's where i first noticed where and how most politicians made wrong moves. this speech, without a doubt in my mind, is the greatest speech on pretty much any and all platforms that i have ever witnessed. i saw Clinton speak live. i grew up during the Reagan years. Reagan's speeches were the best thing he could do, as a former actor, and paled in comparison; all three were the best speakers of my generation in so many ways, but Obama is the best.
Barack Obama: Harvard Educated Lawyer, 1st Black President of Harvard Law Review, University of Chicago Constitutional Law Professor, Community Action Leader, State Senator to be elected by the city of Chicago based on merit alone, Third black US Senator since reconstruction in 1868, First Black DNC Nominee, do you need more credentials?
We have a great opportunity at this time in history. We can recover from the mess that the idiot in the white house has caused all over the world. I didn't think I would live to see the day when a black person could become President. Obama for President.
yo bro, obama08 is more than a candidacy, it's a movement that has shown, is showing and will continue to show that... "the torch has in fact been passed" to a new, hopeful and redemptive generation of Americans who, in spite of fear and cynicism, are determined to build a better america. In '68 MLK had a dream, that dream was obama'08
Great speech Barack, He has united people all the ways in Canada & around the world from his inspiration. I'm DJ KAOS in Canada and boy do I wish I could vote in the United states of america because Obama has my vote. Barack Obama for president in 2009.
Some things are worth fighting for. The slight hope of a brighter future. A small chance to turn this all around. A possibility of change. Simple hope. May he have God's speed.
I am from Nigeria, I support the democrat and Obama. The hope of a better tomorrow is here. I wish I have the chance to cast my vote, I only can pray, God bless America. Obama .08
as a Canadian I hope that America has this man as it's next president, I have been fallowing the election very closely and I this that as far as democratic candidates are concerned Obama is the only choice, Edwards is obviously cozying up to Obama for vice president, like he did in the last election with Kerry..
What an amazing American. Every time I hear him speak I just can't help but feel great about our country once again. I'm SO sick of the gang of crooks running things now. He really does bring "Hope" into our lives again. Go, sir. Go and win this election. We're with you.
I'm Canadian but i'd say Obama is on my list. Though I'm pretty torn between Obama and Ron Paul. They both have a really good stance on change rather than working america old school
My mom and dad went to college with Barack Obama at Occidental in LA. They were close friends, and my dad went running with him every morning. They've worked on the campaign, and recently had a private dinner with him. They met him at the most confused point in his life, yet they still firmly believe in his faith in America, his humility and willingness to listen, and ultimately his ability to bring about a true positive change in the way our country works. That's what I know.
this is very important. if Obama was to win this election, the united states will finally have a chance to change its reputation and role in the rest of the world. I'm swedish myself, and hoping with all my heart to see this change take place!
Barack Obama: Harvard Educated Lawyer, 1st Black President of Harvard Law Review, University of Chicago Constitutional Law Professor, Community Action Leader, State Senator to be elected by the city of Chicago based on merit alone, Third black US Senator since reconstruction in 1868, First Black DNC Nominee, do you need more credentials? guess we can create pretty good change leaders in this world (abe lincoln).
Finally, a first page without a rant. lol In a since, this man reminds me of MLK in the manner of his speeches. Obama is definately the best candidate. He is (possibly) the first candidate in American history who doesn't use smear tactics to try and get in office. He simply tells his views and objectives. Indeed, OBAMA '08!
From his 1995 memoir "Dreams from my Father" He wrote that he used alcohol, marijuana, and cocaine during his teenage years to "push questions of who I was out of my mind". Well, that seals it for me.
those who have experience did run the country right so who gives a damn. how many people u know in a regular job place places in these high positions and suck at what they do but the one who is in a lowe position knopw more then the so called "experienced one"
If anyone can turn things around its you Obama. It is time for a change of old school, rich upper class people who do not have a realistic view of the world and America. I will be praying for you and your family during your leadership. Congrats! Albertan-Canadian for Obama Wooohoo!
Obama has unbelievable charisma and his speeches are amazing. He never talks about real issues, it's just politics as usual with catchy words like "change" and "hope". This is why I like Ron Paul - he talks about issues head on and doesn't politic around issues.
Thank you for you message. It is nice to see it after all of these antisemitic remarks from the buffoons here that call themselves Americans. It will be nice to have respect again someday and not laughed at and cried for as a country. Go Obama! I am living in Austria and that is the message from here!
we made a big mistake when we voted for the second time G.w.bush America. Let's do not make a mistake for the second time and loose a guy like this. Because the next time it would not be in our life time a guy like will show up. Obama for 2008
This was one of the most defining moments in American history. The next most defining moment will hopefully be when this good man is elected President of this great country! Thank You Iowa! And, Go America! It can happen....Obama '08!
I finally made up my mind. Obama '08 ALL THE WAY!!! (It's funny how now, all of sudden, the other candidates are about "Change"). He's such a great leader, even his opponents follow his lead. "Hope is not blind optimism..." -B. Obama
An an Australian living in the US it's impressive to see a canditate like Obama ignite feelings within Americans that make them feel good about being American. Hopefully the long dirty campaign trail wont wear him down nor his positive message
