In this video, I visit Joel's Auctions for the large fall consignment auction. It is a huge sale event. It features some farm retirement machinery where the families entire line of equipment is auctioned off.
There is always some really nice tractors and equipment at this auction and stuff always sells well.
Much of the tractors and equipment sold here are in high demand and there will always be lots of competitive bidding taking place.
This auction lasts almost all day with the tractor selling about mid day.
They have an awesome lunch stand and it is always nice to meet other people at these auctions.
Grab yourself something to drink, pull up a chair, and enjoy 10 minutes of the next best thing to being there.

@@tractortalkwithgary1271 crazy!! BTW, people wonder why we have a dead skid steer below the shop... Paid $750 for a 2004 Cat 236B, needs an engine and a little bushing and pin work on the bucket. Otherwise everything is supposed to be good.. if we have to buy a $20k engine, it's still cheaper than a runner.. that might die tomorrow. BTW, thanks for the PIN😎

It was a rather cold day. A bit breezy with cold temps but the coffee and hot chocolate sales solved that issue.

I haven't been to an auction since I was a kid. Most of our farm equipment came from auctions.

Good evening Gary, that's the first time I've seen an auctioneer sell from a moving truck bed office. Is there sales tax or auction fees on top of the sale price? Thanks for sharing!

On farm equipment where you qualify, no, there is no sales tax. In Iowa, 50% of your farming operation must be row crops to qualify. Thanks Paul
