Conception of SE is old design, but new hardware. iPhone SE 2016 is an iPhone 5S with hardware of iPhone 6S. iPhone SE 2020 is an iPhone 8 with hardware of iPhone 11

I love my se1. I got a new battery installed earlier this year and it lasts all day. I have the 128gb and it has enough storage for all of my needs for the past 4 years and counting. Touchid is just easier to use for me especially with the face mask era. CarPlay with gps works fine. I don’t game on a cell phone nor do I clutter it with junk apps. I have zero use for 5g and gaming. I use my phone as a phone and handoff everything else to my iPad. I try to be socially conscientious not to be absorbed into my phone in public and having a smaller screen helps me not constantly being absorbed. That being said, if my se goes obsolete or gets destroyed, I will most likely go for this iPhone 12 mini but I would like for them to take a page from the iPad Air and release an iPhone mini se with no notch all screen with Touch ID and maybe with out 4gbps 5g because really... who needs that...

You are not alone me too and my iPhone SE 2016 become more and more laggy this time and the ram of my iPhone SE 2016 it’s almost satured and I can’t upgrade to a new iPhone 😕

Yea it's like with iOS 14 the battery life and performance turned very bad on my SE (although iOS 13 was very smooth and okay-ish battery but I also didn't reset it for 2 major versions so maybe that's something to do 🙌) - but besides that it's a great phone let's be honest - mostly missing the ultrawide lense here.

Still using my 1st gen se by choice. 128gb with a new battery. I don’t want this to be obsolete nor do I want faceid during face mask era. I use it for texts and phone calls and use my iPad for everything else. runs carplay perfectly fine for gps. It has quick Apple Pay with touchid which is nice. I don’t social media much and having this smaller screen prevents me from being disconnected from reality in public. Keeping the 1st gen se til iOS stops updating

I was still using my old SE when I got the mini. Loved its small size, and really it’s *amazing* how well it does for its age. But it is really nice to finally be able to buy a new small iPhone, especially for better cameras, edge-to-edge screen, longer battery life, waterproof, etc.

Not true for me? Runs like a dream on 14.2 so far! ESPN opened up on mine far quicker that Nick's SE as I just tested it lol And to be honest everything opens quicker... ? Apart from battery being shot (I have a case anyway), It's a little champ! Still very useable, Making me not want to bother spending hundreds on a new one yet.

I recently bought an se for 40 bucks(just for a backup device) and it is on 13.7 and now I plan to keep it on 13.7 after hearing how it performs on 14. Only thing I’m gonna do is replace the battery which is at 70% capacity.

I think that those that want a 5/5S/SE1 experience on the 12 mini should have their zoom display turned on. It is truly a game changer and makes it feel like a second generation 5 device. Not only visually, but reachability wise as well.

I also am very against these bumps. I really rather had a slightly thicker phone...mayybbeeee a little more battery (weight tradeoff though).....but definitely a thicker phone. Why should I put a case around my phone? I like how it looks and feels.

I’m still using the se1. It’s really doing great for me. I will probably get a new phone but I will still use se1 to make calls and texts, checking mails and web browsing. It’s a great phone.

Still using iPhone SE (1st gen) from 2016. It's enough for my needs, especially since I'm still working remotely and don't have to be out as often. I'm excited for the iPhone 13 mini, but might hold off for another year. If iPhone 14 mini doesn't happen in 2022, then I would get the 13 mini, which will likely reduce in price.

I think it is not really struggling, the Se only has some difficulties for the games, but then again I think most people don't play games on their phones if they want to truly experience a game. Also you get used to the slight slight delay and overal for a phone at age I think the 12 mini needs to step up it's game.
