The point at 8:00 about always approaching the position from the perspective of somebody who has not seen it before is so poignant when it comes to educating. The constant awareness of what the intuitive move is and when/why it is not correct is so helpful, and is one of the many reasons why Danya is the GOAT educator.

I am amazed everyday that I can just watch his content for free on youtube. Been watching his speedruns for months now, and just played an OTB this past weekend and finished 4/5 (3 wins, 2 draws), and in games I found myself identifying TYPE 2 pieces from my opponents (which Danya mentions in every video - piece defended only by one piece), and that helped me calculate and analyze the board way better than my previous OTB tournaments.

Getting a pawn onto d6 and giving a check on the e file while black is completely undeveloped on the kingside is also a common motif in the Smith Morra, more specifically when you sacrifice a knight on d5. It's a nice crossover of ideas between completely different openings.

on the subject of queens, it seems almost everyone has a rule of thumb regarding them. One of my favorites, from a strong Brazilian player was, if your opponent puts his queen on the k-side then you must follow him there, and if he moves his queen to the q-side then you must follow him there. GM Joel B once counseled me that you shouldn't inherently fear a queen trade in an attack, in fact if you feel a queen trade ends the attack then the attack was unsound.

Very interesting, was always under impression that Bxf3, Nxd5, Bxd1 is better for white, I guess the question is what is better, go into a line that people study ( because it's good ), or go into a side line that people don't study because they think it's bad for white ( but can they prove it in the game )

Daniel, a request: For these games could you copy-paste the game pgn into the video description? That way 1) it's much easier to fiddle around with variations from the game, 2) from a historical point of view it's much easier to come back to these games years from now with everything in one place, assistive technology (future AIs) could read the game description and help the viewer more readily; there are all kinds of possibilities.
