when you braking hard try slowly release brake pedal as you approaching to the corner, with practice you should be able to brake later and you'll have better turn in in slow corners (sorry for my english, hope that will help a bit)

I describe every aspect of the track as I negotiate it, as well as what ur doing to manage the car well. so much better than watching someone just race and comment on the obvious. great video...On your fastest lap, you had evrything to get better and better, just don't overdrive, keep evrything smooth and try to be consistent on your 80% breaking point...keep practicing with your pedals and wheel and you will be consistent and able to do your fastest lap again and again...but fore sure big improovements especially at the end end of your video...hope to get some more iracing videos!!

lmao 1st hahaha....don't know enough about wheel setups and pedals,but I've seen people use door stops and blocks of wood underneath the brake pedal it might help,love these iracing vids

Great run again. Yea it looks like you need more seat time GT. You need to find the limits of that mx5. Took me a good few months of racing to get the arcade races out of my system lol.The wheel settings have a lot to do with it also. I was struggling with it at first made a few changes to the FFB and it felt like a new car. Once you get these cars down you'll be fast i can tell.👍

you are doing it right, i mean you are in the right direction. That what did you say is absolutly true about when you are pushing the car to much is not good. Keep it smooth and be pacient, you will see that your laptimes will get better! I started at the same time like you with iracing, before that i played only Assetto Corsa and Project cars. It was different to relearn and change my drvingsteel. I don't like the offtrack system so much, because sometims it's to hard. Sorry about my english lol

You could try the t3pa(pro) pedal add-on, it has an optional rubber brake mod that's a great help to prevent you from braking at 100% It is expensive though.

You asked about blue flags on an earlier video. The flag is a notification that the car behind is not for position so there's no point defending hard. You are, however, allowed to defend as if it was for position (and it might be, on long races where fuel consumption and tyre life and safety cars enter the picture). The rules say the slow car is required to drive "predictably" and the overtaking car is required to make sure there is no incident for either car. Failure to follow the rules can get you banned from iRacing (although new drivers are given a lot of leeway). Driving "predictably" means the backmarker should drive as fast as they can generally ignoring the car behind. Adjusting how you drive means stepping out of your comfort zone and risking a crash. It is the faster driver's job to decide when it's safe to overtake, and the back marker should give you plenty of room as they're required to whenever anybody overtakes. Of course, the longer it takes to pass a lapped car, the more likely the faster car is to take stupid risks. When I'm a back marker, I like to brake late for a corner and miss the apex. This allows the overtaking car to brake at their normal brake marker and take the racing line to pass me. You should practice doing this at several corners on each track, generally you'll only lose about half a second. I'll only go out of my way to let a faster car pass if my car is damaged and I'm going really slow (the poinst system incentivises youto finish every race, no matter how badly damaged your car is). Then I will get off the racing line lift off the throttle or even brake on a straight. Regarding difficulty, your car number is iRacing's guess how your skill compares to the other drivers. If your car number is 10 and you finish in 9th position then you should consider that a victory. If your car number is 10 and you're competing against car 1, you should assume s/he is far better than you and will leave you for dead.

Don't go spending a bunch of cash right of the rip with iRacing. Figure out what you want to pursue, read the iRacing forums all the time. It's an endless pool of information. Only advice I can give you is practice all the time, become familiar with the current car your in. Also later down the road I recommend picking up the Logitech G27 pedals, you can mod them until your eyes bleed. Watch tons of iRacing videos too, watching people is a great inlet of information.

Is this the most realistic sim? What about Rosetta corsa (I think it's called) have you gotten a chance with that at all? I know Forza is a bit watered down compared to these more hard core sims. I can tell simply by watching how the car behaves this is a step up in realism.

I'm considering getting myself set up for I racing, as it seems there is no crazy constant ramming and wrecking like in forza 6. How else does it compare? as far as realism and driving simulation is concerned? I will require a wheel as well?

You should use your wheel for forza.

You're talking about equipment. Let me tell you that I have a 10 year old G25 and a 19" single monitor and have absolutely no trouble being competitive and winning races. Focus on driving technique until you can't find the last 1% of performance, and only then start investing in equipment.
