I like how a bunch of people are complaining about the rework without seeing the time and effort illustrators and designers put into her rework. The rework makes her more of a blade dancer because she flows with the blades and many of the new skins after rework are much better than the old clunky skins.
Honestly I think some of the old skins are better. I love irelia's new design and colors in my opinion are fantastic and flow together well but for skins I have some issues which could just be personal nitpick. For nightblade, I would have gone with blue tones instead of purple. Blue is colder tone and is often used as a replacement for black (since artist 101 states to "never use black") it would also work great with the white hair (and for some white hair pinkish hue can look really good). For aviator I like the colors but blades make no sense. Again purple with tint of yellow in my eyes just really do not work. I would have gone more towards the original with yellow/orange blades, maybe in new skin it could gradient from Orange to yellow. Aviator skin really has nothing purple in it, it's mostly green and yellow/orange, so the blades really make no sense to me. For infiltrator I got nothing, new one is better by color and desing just not my taste at all so meh. For iceblade irelia, again purple? I dislike the hair style in new one I cannot deny, I think Irelia is very feminine and her tomboyish hairstyle just doesn't sit with me, I would make the hair and colors more like in original, light blue instead of purple. For order of lotus skin, I like the new one but I feel like there's too heavy contrant between the blades and the outfit. Blades are too light while outfit is too dark. I believe the outfit should be slightly more light pinkish to make it not feel so heavy and make the blades same color as the top. I also think the sleeves having white and pink looks really stupid. I know the blades are white and pink, so it's meant to be matching with colors but sadly there's just too much going on. Remove the white from the sleeves and make it just pink, same with the blades, they just don't feel like they belong to the outfit, they need to blend in more. Here's my rant about the skins, Now I must admit to a bias, I hate purple in many way, I feel like it's the type of color that's really hard to get right to look nice which is why I personally find the new skins to not look as good as the old ones.
havent played league in years and since irelia was the only champ i could carry myself to diamond with im 100% sure ill never come back now. old skins looked way better imho
She looks like karma in the new one. The old one had a charm and certain style they should have stuck with or at least referenced to.. but the particles and glow are well done overall
For me the best skins are Infiltrator and Forstblade. The others seem to not have that much of a difference especially when it comes to the ult. Order of the Lotus ult should look similar to Byakuya's senbonzakura kageyoshi bankai from Bleach lol. Missed opportunity.
Personally, I think both are good. It's because of the modern days people see that they need to jump on that trend or get a new design, it's like phones. We can't stay on flipphones forever or unless you wanna
like literally EVERY SINGLE NEW ARTSPLASH looks worse!!! Even the lotus one, looks worse. above that. just look at *old Irelia*, does she (visually) looks like a champ that needs an update? then what about amumu? nunu? w/e. totally disappointed of how lol evolved in last year or so...:(
I liked the old irelia , yeah she was ugly and she had bad R but i was enjoying while playing her , but anyway i love new one she's fun to play 😄 P.S new FrostBlade irelia looks like Winter wonder karma to me .
