It is decrease in capacity of carrying oxygen . Low Hb + low HCT

So extreme low levels of iron but normal ferritin and tibc doesn’t mean anemia? I have no idea wtf i have and i hope my doctor doesn’t say bad things to me :)

Chantina Dejesus If the absorption is normal you treat it by Ferrus sulfate or others forms of oral iron containig drugs. But if the deficiency is because of malabsorption in the first place then you must adminester a parenteral form of iron. Problem solved.

people have different accents and pronounce words differently. The way she pronounces it is perfectly fine, and is actually the correct way to phonetically pronounce that word in English. I learned to pronounce it same way you mentioned, but the way she pronounces it is in no way incorrect

According to Hoffbrand and Moss (essential hematology 6th edition, 2011) the most amount of iron in the body is within the circulating rbc hemoglobin (1.7 - 2.4g), about 600-650mcg is stored in the liver, parenchyma cells and muscle tissue (myoglobin) and 150mcg is stored in the marrow. There is also an additional 4mcg in plasma, 0.5-1.5mcg in macrophages. The breakdown of liver specific storage is not delved into but the marrow is mostly involved in rbc synthesis whereas the liver in the recycling of heme She is talking about absorption of iron through the diet, so that may be where the mishap occurred

You need to be more specific when presenting this information... As an example "the urge to eat inedible things(Pica)", followed by "Such as dirt or ice" without stating specific reasons for doing so. Pagophagia (eating/chewing ice) is believed to result from the mental stimulation you receive by doing so. Geophagia (Eating dirt) is believed to result from an olfactory response that you get when eating it. It is also thought, that this may be a response mechanism in an attempt to get nutrients into the body since humans aren't instinctively driven to eat honeybuns =)
