Singer is Bruce Dickinson who is also a fencer at international level, PHD in History and Boeing 747/757 pilot. He flew the planes on two Maiden World Tours carrying group, families, tour crew and 40 plus tons of equipment.

Ive seen Maiden 31 times, will see them twice this year in Tokyo. South American crowds are insane, but Iron Maiden "brings it" every show, I have never been let down by the band or my fellow fans.

More Maiden, please! As for song recommendations, I'll go with Rime Of The Ancient Mariner. It's a long song (around 15 minutes), but it's Maiden at their story-telling best. If that's too long, I'd suggest Alexander The Great instead. Not only is it a great song, it's also a history lesson.

I was confused why it sounded strange, but then i realized why. Intentionally or unintentionally, you are playing the left (or right, i think left) channel as mono. During the Solo, Janik was quiet and Dave was in both ears. This is causing some of the drums to be quieter and much of the sound just being strange. I also know this video, so i know it isnt the video you watched.

I watched them live in Birmingham, England in 2011 and towards the end of "Number of the Beast" all of the guitars suddenly cut out due to a technical issue. Bruce kept on singing with only the drums going and got the crowd involved in singing with him too. He/the band didn't throw a hissy fit like some others do and walk off stage, they just went with the flow and got the issue fixed for the songs after. True professionals.

Whatever future reviews you do...do LIVE versions. Maiden is one of the few bands where the live versions absolutely blow the studio versions away....thats how good of a band they are.

Fear of the Dark Live at Donington is a ‘go-to’ usually, but any version is great!!! Thanks for the reaction Nick.

I hope you get a chance to experience them live in person. It's an amazing and emotional experience. You can *STILL* be there live. They still sell out stadiums and perform as amazing.

Best live vocals for Iron Maiden are from Live at hammersmith 1982. Unfortunately, this was early in their career, so only the early hits are in this show. There are other great shows for the band as a whole, but for Bruce Dickenson's vocals, it's the Hammersmith show. Everyone sings along to Maiden on every song. Maiden's largest show is Rock in Rio festival in 1985 w/ Queen playing to 300K to 350K people (estimates vary). and a 2nd show in 2001 w/ 200k attending. They have many shows w/ over 100K attending.

The Trooper and Run to the Hills are what you’d consider workout songs. Recommend the original studio versions. Both were major hits.

Saw them last year and still this energy

The first time I saw them was '82, saw them many times since. The last time '22. The energy is like this every time. Another good work out tune is Run To The Hills.

i got to see these guys in '84 on their Live After Death tour and havent had a chance to see them since. id love to see them one more time before its too late for either of us.

“Workout song”!? maiden is for everywhere, every time and every mood band! They are very melodic, dynamic, soulful, beautiful, vigorous, energetic, powerful and dramatic at the same time at least most songs! They aren’t just a “workout” songs

Loved their early years. I suppose it helps to have a British Airways 747 pilot to drive your tour bus in the Band 😂 as long as he's not playing with his swords at the same time. Bruce is the man.

Fun fact: one of the guitarists left so they replaced him, but then he came back a few years later, and Maiden was like fuck it, we now have 3.

The energy is like this at every Maiden concert. 200k+ at this one. Imagine how loud it would've been had it not been an open venue. Run To The Hills from them also goes on the workout playlist. It's on mine anyway.

This is the reason I have Neck and Back Problems. TOO many concerts in my life. Iron Maiden was my 2nd Concert and they opened up for Judas Priest but Judas Priest should of opened up for Iron Maiden!!!! 1983 🤘

Something seemed wrong with the sound of that recording that I haven't heard before. Anyway, one piece of advice when expanding on the Maiden catalog: Just go with live versions. The quality of their VHS & DVD recordings over 40 years is incredibly good. There are few examples of Maiden studio tracks that are a better experience than a live version.
