Not comparing here, but if you want to hear someone else's material being sung by someone else, surely go to Dio in Black Sabbath at the New Haven Colosseum 1980, how dare anyone else sing War Pigs! He did and smashed Ozzy to fuck and the rest lol
It's 2018. Being a Maiden fan since 1996, this is the first time I listen to this tune with Bruce's voice. There's always something to discover, man...
This is what I love about Bruce, he plays songs from all of Maiden’s iterations whereas some bands when they get new vocalists they won’t play anything that had a different singer on it
The Clansman, Sign Of The Cross, Futureal, and Man On The Edge are ones of my most liked songs from Maiden... with Dickinson ALIVE. Great compositions!
This song is the definitive Blaze's song with Maiden. But Bruce is a legend, and does an amazing job, he is respectful with the original vocal lines, did'n tried to outsing Blaze on this, (and he can do it easily). Love this song, sound great with both.
I think Bruce did a good job, but i feel no particular effort for him. Easy song. And might lack a little raspier sound to match the original. I do feel what killed balze was weaker lyrics, and bad live performances. People forget too often that 99 brought back Dickinson stage presence and voice, but also his song writing...and so did it bring back the master Adrian smith. Without smith maiden was already on the down...
I consider this huge respect for Blaze!! Ozzy never sang anyone else's songs for Sabbath....Bruce has sung 5 different Blaze songs live in the 20 years since. I just love the Maiden material in Bruce's absence and play it all often to this day!!
Yeah, I love the X-Factor and Virtual XI, while not as good, does have some amazing tracks. Blaze doesn't have the incredible range Bruce has, but he's a fine singer nonetheless. Plus, I love his stuff with Wolfsbane. Their live album Massive Noise Injection is outrageously fun.
Saved Maiden? I saw Maiden in 97 play in Orlando to a low-packed CLUB venue.. Why? Cuz no one gives a shit about era of Maiden and for good reason... The second Bruce came back, they were headlining arenas again... Blayze drowned Maiden with no signs of a life preserver til the return of Adrian and Bruce..... He Certainly did not "save them"
I give Bruce credit as far as I know, he is the only singer to leave a band, come back and sing some of his replacements songs . Ian Gillian refused to sing anything from the Coverdale era , Jon Anderson wouldn’t perform anything off of drama and Rob Halford as far as I know hasn’t done any Ripper Owens material . Of coarse there is David Lee Roth and Ozzy who couldn’t do the Sammy and Dio material ,but that’s a whole other story.
@@thefonzkiss Tony Martin was Sabbath's last resort. "Oh, you're cool coming back together with us to do Dehumanizer, Dio? Well, fuck off Tony! What's that, Dio? Don't wanna keep going? Well Tony, might as well come back.
I'd be lying if I said I didn't like the Blaze albums. Blaze is a good singer, but I don't think he was really a good fit for Maiden. Hearing Bruce's voice on this song makes me enjoy it more!
+Steve Campkin Drummer nonsense... Maiden is a true band, not one of those who renegate the past and try to hide it... Blaze did great in the X factor album, the other was worse but of course our Bruce Bruce is extra special
Blaze is the only former member of maiden I will never miss. I wish Maiden would remaster x factor and virtual x1 with bruce's vocals , that would be awesome
With Blaze this song is amazing , but with Bruce , i don't have words to describe ! Bruce is the best metal singer of all time !!! Greetings from Brazil !
It's awesome but not sure how he improves the song. It just feels like he's rushing through it, there's not as much emotion and power that Blaze gives, especially these days when he does it live.
I think that Maiden for Blaze was the boost that he needed to developed himself as the incredible singer that he is right fuckin now! His potency in his voice as a metal singer it's fuckin unbelievable! Harris didn't make a mistake when he chose him!! This's Blaze song by the way!
after all Bruce Dickinson is the best heavy metal vocalist alive(R.I.P R.J Dio) and even when he was solo hes album went worldwide success....Paul WAS a great vocalist for Iron Maiden and Blaze is a medium(im singing to get my food for the day) vocalist
Blaze sound a lot better because of the dark atmosphere they wanted to give on this album ! Bruce is singing like a happy child in Disney world on this song... Calm down everybody I love Bruce and his era, he is my second fav frontman of metal !
As much as I love Bruce (of course) I don't see how this performance has improved the song at all. It's good and awesome hearing Bruce sing X Factor songs but It's just sort of like going through the motions and rushing through the song. To be real Blaze (especially these days) has a lot of power and sounds really good singing the song, he's really into it every time. It's more for his voice.
For me, Bruce it's amazing here. The only song that Dickinson sings bad live is Lord of the Flies., because he changed the way of how you should be singed, but if he wanted to, he would sing it just like blaze.
when i first heard the original recording of this i thought it was the same guy who did all the famous iron maiden songs (don't give me loads of shit for this comment it was many years ago and the only iron maiden album i had ever listened to at the time was best of the beast, i'm a huge fan now i've got all the studio albums now)
To each their own. But the thing that is undeniable is that Bruce was and is the better Vocalist for Maiden. His track record with the band speaks for itself. Although I've always wondered what it would of sounded like if they had done a third Blaze album before Brave New World, but I guess we'll never know.
Don't care what people say the two blaze albums are good ( obviously not as good as the stuff before it ) and man on the edge is one of my favorite tracks
I'm listening to this song and I have a couple of flights later on, hope I wont fall down, but if I do I will request this song be played over the aircom
@2112Metal dont say Blaze sucked. He's no Bruce, but he was good. If it werent for him stepping in then iron maiden wouldnt be around anymore and everyone would be bitching about how Bruce ruined it. Di'anno, Blaze, and Dickenson are all amazing. Its just that Bruce is the best for Maiden, Up The Fucking Irons
