"Oh, God of Earth and Altar Bow down and hear our cry Our earthly rulers falter Our people drift and die The walls of gold entomb us The swords of scorn divide Take not thy thunder from us Take away our pride" Just a babe in a black abyss No reason for a place like this The walls are cold and souls cry out in pain An easy way for the blind to go A clever path for the fools who know The secret of the Hanged Man, the smile on his lips The light of the blind You'll see The venom tears my spine The Eyes of the Nile are opening You'll see She came to me with a serpent's kiss As the Eye of the Sun rose on her lips Moonlight catches silver tears I cry So we lay in a black embrace And the seed is sown in a holy place And I watched, and I waited for the dawn The light of the blind You'll see The venom that tears my spine The Eyes of the Nile are opening You'll see Go Bind all of us together Ablaze with hope and free No storm or heavy weather Will rock the boat you'll see The time has come to close your eyes And still the wind and rain For the one who will be king Is the watcher in the ring It is You, oh It is You
@@SomewhereInTheMaidenverse Tell me about it. People get butt hurt when this gets pointed out, just because he smiles and dances a lot. He's a professional at the end of the day, and should put some effort into at least playing something that sounds like the originals. It's the same solo, song after song, nothing close to the original. His sound is terrible too....so muddy! I'm all for individuality, and I'd hate to go to a show and hear songs note for note as they sound on the record. BUT, you've got to recreate something close to the original, with a bit of individual feel to it. He's a great guitarist and brings so much to Maiden, but he could be a fantastic guitarist!
@@mka70When I saw them on the Fear of the Dark tour with Janick, Janick was much more serious about his playing. He was actually quite focused, live. He is capable of so much more than he's been giving in later years live, and it is frustrating. Dave and Adrian are always the consummate professionals, and Janick just flies by the seat of his pants, not giving a crap. The fans deserve more. I know a lot of people don't share my opinion, but I don't care.
@@SomewhereInTheMaidenverse Yup, He's progressively got worse since Adrian returned. There is a place for him, but he really does need to focus more. As you say, the fans deserve a bit more respect!
I might be wrong but I don't think Gers was on the mixer except for the solo. Adrian Smith was rhythm. Someone played the acoustic-like sections but Janick was mostly dancing around with windmills and other tricks unlikely to make this good a reproduction
