Is quite immersive breaking, but if you turn shadows down to low/medium you can actually see something in those caves. Also makes it easier to see inside the shadows while under trees and inside your house. Shadows are a bit weird in this game.
@Z1 Gaming It was a wind storm, not a rain storm. Don't worry, once it rains you'll be able to refill the waterskin when you put it in a slot in the bottom bar, or if you put it in the rain catcher.
This is what I was thinking. His bass didn't take damage while he was gone either so I was wondering if the area around there just wasn't loaded so no resources, no crafting, and no damage from the storm.
Upgrading to stone buildings takes pretty much all the risk out of leaving the base for extended periods of times. Definitely recommend doing that if you plan on having a larger base and want to be gone for an extended period of time.
wish some of my friends had this game so we could play together lol, also Z. the devs are going to slowly go into the alien stuff, did some research on it after last video lol
The cave worms stop shooting acid and turn to a melee/bite in close proximity. Knifing them is pretty affective. I found out bc I died so many times all I could craft was a knife to get my body back. Now I run in all crazy to every cave with a knife out 😆
It might be immersive breaking, but there is a map that was put together that shows where the caves are at. My reasoning for using it is because the first mission has you mapping out the area, then the information is now available to you. Are you still using stone arrows Z? Because bone arrows are the best, unless you have a ton of iron laying around. Eating a lot of Cooked Meat is a good way to recover some health, in a pinch. Also look at the tools you are using to see the resource gathering percentage. Basically stick with basic stone tools until you have just enough to make the anvil and iron pickaxe, since the iron pickaxe gives you more iron per nodes. Remember that you can't get everything, If I remember the devs saying, so plan your blueprint, and talent, points accordingly. It sounds like you need to invest in some stamina perks so that you can jump when having pneumonia while being in a cave. Last note, the cave worm's projectiles have an aoe, which is difficult to avoid, but if you can get them to shoot close to themselves, they do damage to each other and themselves. Sorry for the long comment by the way, just want to give you and others some assistance.
Thanks for the tip on the caves, I didn't know about the thin walls blocking some. I haven't made it to iron tools yet because before I could start, a lightning storm burned down my house with all the craft stations and materials along with it, so I just completed the mission and called it a day. On level 19 so only up to wood buildings still.
there is also about 2 worms in a set of 2-4 in each cave the deeper u go in and from what ive noticed while playing, they will eventually respawn after leaving the cave for a bit
I have only got the pneumonia debuff once in my 4 trips inside caves. I think you only get pneumonia if you stand in the water inside the cave for too long. Clothing actually helps counter this too. So I just avoid standing in water when I am inside caves.
The cave worms you can sidestep the poison spit if you get the timing right. Also, I came across the terrain collision glitch too, pretty sure it was the same cave, and I didn't know about the 'no stamina regen' while in water, that explains a lot. Last, set up a hunting stand near the radar spots... first one I got attacked by 2 bears 2 wolves, second one 4 wolves, third one 2 jaguars (and yes, each group came all at once).
Lol, dang. Glad I read this. I started sith the 3rd one and sure enough, the 2 jaguars sprung on me. Good call on setting up the hunting loft. Can a bear destroy it, much less two? En route to the 3rd, I encountered a polar bear and died, obviously. When going back to pick up the radar equipment, I was more vigilant and was able to avoid the bear all together. Not sure how I fear about two bears from the placement.
@@emilhozan71 Glad I could help! As for bears destroying the hunting loft, they can if you let them just keep attacking it, but if you keep shooting it shouldn't be a problem.
Just in case you didn't know You can remove a building part by clicking y when you look at it so if you wanna get rid of those pillars in the middle of your base you can. It puts them back in your inventory so you can put them somewhere else. The stairs you were looking for are part of the roofs. Press and hold R to switch same as you do to get the door wall. Also, personally, I don't bother with spears. For melee it's better to use the knife cuz it's faster and for long range obviously you have the bow and arrows. Spears are, for me, a waste of time and resources. For caves - craft a standing torch and carry it with you. Put it down where you want to mine and put like 2 planks in it. It'll last you enough time to mine the node. When you're done, remove the planks and pick up the torch back to place it somewhere else. Also, it's a good idea to bring a roof piece with you so you don't have to jump to get to higher places or nodes just place the roof down to use as a ramp. The poison paste is in tier 2 in the pestle and mortar section. It's made from spoiled meat and sulfur so I'd suggest not burning the meat to charcoal, you get enough charcoal from the fireplace and furnace
Love the videos man. Little tip for the caves, use your floor torches to warm your character up in between mining. You only get pneumonia if you get too cold for too long so the intermittent warm ups work wonders. Keep up the great work I love this game :)
hey Z try keeping the waterskin in an inventory slot, then select the waterskin slot and check if the rain collector gives an option to top up your waterskin
Not sure if its supposed to be a thing or not, but ive noticed that just jumping in the water and staying underwater for a couple of seconds refills your water and you dont get the water sicks.
Those worms surprised me too haha 😂 I never saw them in the beta weekends! You can use the stalagmites/stalagtites as cover for their projectiles, usually. Depends on how much space you have to move. Nice to see we have some surprises in store!
Z I think the worms were to "combat" Cave Bases. I still like them but have died and gone back to the worms killing me in the cave as they eventually respawn. I will unlock stone structures here soon and probably use that for my bases.
The worms and really most creatures in the game go down quick if u hit them in the eyes or mouth. Sounds weird but they all have a small hit box in the face that does high damage
So basically at the 7.45 min where you check the water , there was nothing inside because you left the waterskin inside if you look at the description at the end you will see that is says ''The waterskin's rough construction allows for a rapid crafting, but loses water over time'' therefore you don't have any water inside. Don't leave the waterskin there! Good luck!
Cook meat and fish restore your health so keep a stack on u to you get better stuff, meat give you 30hp per meat, the water well thing does get water from rain it just if you are far away from it and it rains sometimes doesn’t and base doesn’t take damage as well
you over prepared a bit for this mission, in my opinion. three scan spots, closest one to the north has bears attack, furthest north has cougars if I remember correctly, and the southern one has a bunch of wolves. (the far north and south ones I may have reversed)
I'm not going to speak for Z, but he doesn't like the idea of starting from scratch every mission... he also really likes base building and progression. I bet he knows he's way over prepared but he's playing for fun and for content. You don't need to really base build for most early missions... but it's fun for him to gear up.
I love the way the notifications like "Cave" etc come up right in front of what you are firing at.(Center Screen).. why not on either edge or the bottom edge of the player UI?
I've been liking icarus alot. It has issues and they should let you do multiple missions without leaving but keep the 6 day timer so you can do as many as you want in that time limit. But its still fun and your videos are 100% the best videos on this game.
During a boss mission where they only spawn at night I thought, "hey I'll start a forest fire to be able to see better" nope, the bushes and trees catch fire but it doesn't create light around the area sadly
The pneumonia is due to being cold, not from breathing. Because they already have other cold debuffs they made this one different. Maybe youd like your very own personal dev to come take care of you and give yoy stuff and xp. Also im sure hello kitty online has room
So, I’m only 4 minutes in and my first thought is… I love ho yesterday your all upset about lack of aliens and vehicles and I’m sitting there thinking, this guys level 11 and already complaining, ain’t even out a dent in the second mission. Lol and look at you now, screaming over the little worms 🤣
You can breathe underwater for the same reason you can breathe in Icarus's toxic atmosphere ... because your wearing a helmet which is providing you with oxygen!
I agree work Z caves are annoying due to this they should change it so that we get the cold only after getting hit few times by the worms and not by being in the cave 👍🏻
Z1 you should try building an underwater base, because you can. You can also place and light campfires for some reason its really funny. There is also a backpack you should check out
He could possibly use the mega loot cave, but even if he could build a structure under water, how does he clear the water out? There isn’t an air pump and volume physics that I’m aware of, and even if there was, a stone structure wouldn’t be air tight.
This game is pretty detailed in it's producing system and the devs keep adding one thing after another but the one thing I don't see is the stability of keeping your level and your points or am I missing something??
The reset everyone from beta to release to create even ground. From now on everyone gets to keep their levels and points as long as yoh make it back to the drop ship
I still don't understand why, in a game where you literally arrive in a spaceship you're forced to make the most basic beginner tools out of wood and stone. What's so wrong with providing you with a modern (or futuristic) axe/pickaxe and bow? At the very least you could have a single set, but they could become blunt over time so if you haven't built the tools to sharpen them by that time THEN you could be forced to make more primitive tools to replace them??
Because according to the lore video: Icarus No Rescue, money was spent to get there with tech, not bring it. The guy Sol on the first mission literally says " you decided to drop with nothing, because you could."
Bears are actually very easy to deal with plus I'm getting ready to release a icuras survival guide full of tips and tricks on what I've personally experienced and seen so far including dealing with the bears "with only just a bow and stone arrow"
Wish my game would look that good. I bought the game without checking and my.cpu is too old for it. Also is seems that two Radeon R9 290s are not enough. And I played it for 3 hours so no refunds...it's too bad really it's actually a lot of fun
i got stuck once in a cave like this and when you press esc there is actually unstuck button but it put me all the way back to my base which i wasnt mad about but it can be irritating having to run all the way back to the cave
Im finding this game very frustrating stupid storms base destroyed i just got bed roll then storm destroyed half my base now guess what no bed roll ffs that coupled with the xp loss when you die from spawning wolfs aaaarrrggggghhhh 😫🤬🤬🤬😡🔫🐺
it seems its all about crafting and farming just like ''earth '' not really doing cool things like attacking some kind of possesed area ''alien world'' just some earth wildlife nothing special ''iam sad''
Dude, can you stop complaining and focus on actually play the game?! I came to see Icarus gameplay, Not hearing you struggling to understand the game machanics.
was enjoying this play throught then the whining started around the 17 mins mark was was okay won't bother listening to the rest or bother again thanks.
Dude spent a entire video ranting and you said you were going to get out of your system so going forward you don't have to rant. Fast forward to the very next video and you are still on this rant.
