Irvingman Presents Spiderman Season 3 Episode 10: Revolt in the Fifth Dimension 

I noticed even Hazel got up and left when she heard it was a Rocket Robin Hood episode re-skinned. I'm dying to know where in New York City Spider-Man can get such a great view of the stars. I mean, Las Vegas isn't all that big a city, but the light pollution means you have drive a bit to get that kind of view. I think we're all better off thinking that Spidey dropped some bad acid rather than live out this episode. I believe the episode was made because they didn't have the budget to do anything better. Everybody knew this cartoon was doomed, and just half-assed it for the most part.

Having to put up with these confusing space stories. I guess that's why you make the big bucks. The Spidey episode was so bad that it only took 37 seconds for Hazel to split!

So THAT is the origin and reason for these weird alien episodes.

I actually like this episode 🤣despite its' Rocket Robin Hood laziness and odd script writing. I saw this in syndication in the late 70s and it really scared me as I didn't quite understand what was happening to Spidey and knew it wasn't good. Being much older now I get a laugh at 5yr old me being so terrified at Spider-Man's predicament. As for the story itself, I do think there's a germ of a good Lovecraftian horror film in there, it just needs to be fleshed out more. I'm surprised no one has tackled the idea.

Spider-Man is a street level superhero, how come he’s going up against cosmic level villains without the help of The Avengers, Fantastic Four or The X-Men?

Yeah, we had to get to this ultimate hot mess sooner or later! Spidey taking up the dialogue of two characters (Rocket Robin and Little John in the original), wild music, padded footage that made no sense, using the original dialogue from the RRR episode that didn't fit anymore (mostly Infiata referring to Spidey as two people) . You may have picked it up, but Lobster Man's voice DOES change with the 'flying boy' line. My guess is Paul Kligman (JJJ and many villains) had a contract to be in a specific number of episodes as a credited cast member and leaving him out here would have breached said contract. So, the line was written and recorded..."Great! You're in the show. Now don't sue us!" And the initial payoff for all this laziness? ABC took one look at the episode and literally said WTF? They wouldn't air it, and replaced it with a season 1 duo, "Sting of the Scorpion/Trick or Treachery". It wasn't seen until the syndication runs.

"Dementia" 5? I swear that's what I'm hearing.

What are the consequences of decoding the Library of Gorth? Why not have a sequel in which the information in the pill allows the human race to solve all of its problems? I guess then there wouldn't be a need for superheroes. Who hired Ralph Backshi? Didn't they know what they were getting? All they had to do is watch The Mighty Heroes to know what he would do to Spiderman.

With all the villains available, why make up some crazy nobody?
