It was amusing to see the “is it enough” question, I’ve been shooting digital since my 6mp digital rebel and back in the day it was considered large and still good for print. And i had come from a PowerShot with like 4 or 5 mp. I still have a 1d with 4mp and it’s perfectly serviceable (in good light lol)
@2:45: 100% of a 7,5mp file will show you the same crop of the picture as 100% of the 24mp file. "100%" is always according to the resolution of your screen. Two different screens will show different crops of 100%. You can check that easily by comparing 100% on camera screen and on PC. So you can’t say how many Megapixel that will be. @5:36: 35mm crop = 4800x3200 = 15,36mp
Agree, i was a pixel peeper but since i move to analog photography mp doesnt matter anymore, i dont care if the photos aren’t sharp, if it’s good then resolution doesnt matter
7.5 MP is actually close to the resolution of a 4K TV. Would you say that this is a low resolution? No. However, I much rather take the 28mm and crop in post. The Ricoh GR is doing the same.
Hi! They were playing Beach Handball. This crop mode is like the Leica Q2 and Q3, but those have plenty megapixels to crop from… I can be sure that the crop mode in Ricoh GRiii is no crap… 😊
The megapixel wars really made everyone think we needed more than 6 megapixels for a good image. The only time it really comes into play is for extensive post processing or cropping. Prints hide a lot, and large prints hide even more due to normal viewing distance.
So 8mp is 4k... which would still look great on most monitors/tv's etc. - main issue would be printing. It can get confusing trying to figure, how much is enough for most formats.
