Great Class Erin! I usually separate my speakers no more than 6ft... However, that was me listening to the sound and not knowing the information you produced... Thanks again!

I enjoyed it! I never considered my subwoofer spacing, but I got lucky and I'm within "spec" 😉

I believe it's best to have your speakers (no difference which of them) as good and as tonally the same as possible first and foremost. Let's say Arendal Sound 1723 THX Monitors for bed layer including back surrounds and also use them for 4 height speakers as well if you can mount them perfectly aimed at MLP behind an acoustically transparent ceiling fabric. This way, you will have them all the same and the crossover will be (possibly) the same (depending on the location) and how close to walls. But if all speakers put in a baffle walls including height, then the same crossover.

I know these are a year old but I’ve only just watched a few of them. The enthusiasm from you all apart from the Techno dad/Channa chap is very encouraging. It’s possible that he’s some kind of financial partner but as a viewer he’s bad news and should go. This isn’t the only video I’ve seen where he doesn’t contribute and is obviously “elsewhere”.

What if he was at a hospital or on vacation and he still chose to be on. Is that still "bad news"? I know I've been at Disneyland and on a cruise ship and still took time to join the podcast. That sounds like dedication, not what you described.

If he was at Hospital I’d say he’d need to take a long hard look at his decision to take part. In fact, if he was on vacation with his family, I’d possibly think the same. I wish no bad feelings so if I’ve misunderstood another person’s actions I will stand corrected and move on. I enjoy the content.

@@jim586 seems to me like a lot of judgment coming from you. The truth is we don't know you to say whether you're someone we want to take advice from. And you know us based on what we show you on these videos. So, why should we listen to your opinion? I'm not being sarcastic. I try to take a bit of something from everyone and I try to improve. I just want to know who I'm talking to first.

I honestly got nothing from this that i didnt know going in lol. The best way this should have been tested wastake a sample of popular atmos height scenes. For example 10 notable from 10 movies and then have them play at 180, 150, 120, 100, and 80hz to see not what sounded best because thats subjective but if those scenes actually dug down to those frequencies or no difference. Height speakers should be tested for imaging and detail as well. For example, in Top Gun Maverick. They all have a plane fly over or be whatever, but how low did that speaker get. Maybe after 120hz nothing went below that. It gives a better idea then the cliche...."well, it depends" answer.

You must know a lot then! 😉 Channa and I could easily create test files in Atmos and play full range content to them. Actually, the pink noise and sweeps in the Spatial Audio Calibration Toolkit are full range signals. You can turn off your crossovers and see what happens. - Joe

The newer avr's that allow for multi sub to be set up directionally will help with those localization issues. I'm setup thay way with 4 subs and love it. Much more realistic. If something happens in right surround/right rear, only the right rear sub is activated. Panning effects with bass are much more realistic.

@@powerguymark Hi PowerGuyMark, Thanks for the in-depth response to my question. I have 7.4.6 layout, with All Klipsch Reference Series speakers. The Atmos Speakers are Klipsch Pro-16rc in-ceiling. If my memory serves me correctly, I have them set at 100mhz. I just thought the lads were not defining they case to me(it flew over me) . Thanks a million 👊🏾😉👊🏾

@@Lbmwm3 I guess truthfully I'm not sure what I'm running. I have six ceiling speakers. Two subs and seven base layer speakers. I think technically since there's only one channel feeding all the subs that should be labeled 1 as my center number rather than two. Also I think I'm hearing 7 active base layer speakers and only four Atmos at any given time. If I had it to do over again I would have bought a pre-pro with several amplifiers instead of an AVR with pre-outs. My AVR is only capable of 13 channels but it does have two separate subwoofer outputs so I'm a little confused on the nomenclature.

My Atmos Upfiring speakers are crossed over at 180. The lowest they go is 94hz. So I’ve read you should double the lowest frequency of your speakers. So my front left and rights go as low as 35hz and I cross them over at 70.

it is not too high? do you have Klipsch Atmos?
@Rockovissi
@Rockovissi Год назад
@@angelluisguzmandeleon4903 No it actually sounds pretty seamless. I bought the Polk XT90’s. I had them originally mounted on the ceiling just pointed down to the listening position. Only because I already had mounts on the ceiling. But I took them down and put them on top of my front left and right and two on the rear surrounds. After doing a manual calibration, they sound really good. I was really surprised because so many people don’t care for upfiring speakers.
