I would highly suggest putting a self tapping screw through the tip flange into the exhaust to prevent losing the tip over time. I think the larger tip was more throaty then the smaller. sounds nice!

Use a dB app for your phone it will tell you at what freq it's amplitude is higher or not. Icon says dB on the App Store. Search sound level meter it's the first app that pops up. These are actually pretty accurate. I've compared them to high $$$ equip at work. Cool video guys!

I'm a professional musician. Decibels are not measured in a linear fashion. Every 3 decibel increase represents a doubling in percieved volume and reduces the amount of safe exposure time by half. So if the measured difference is 1 decibel (I believe more testing is needed) that means the tip increased the volume 33%

Are you going to do an aimsoil dual remote bypass oil filter? Quick tip lol. If yours is still loose with the clamp tight, use a 1/16th inch steel or stainless shim cut the width of the clamp. Mine was quite loose after tightening so I hammered the shim over an old piece of pipe to match the radius and slid it in under the clamp and and re tightened. SPEND THE $ and get the good stainless steel! Cheapies on Amazon will rust in month! Been there, done that 🤦🏻‍♂️.

I got a tip to you guys i send u a video on exhaust tips drill holes 1 inch from the edge of the tip 1inch apart each other should be 7 holes even from a each other will.give u more turbo sounds and more deeply sounding us the old.tip and try it the holes have to be 1inch around us a step bit. And the layout is from center to center of holes

People get the idea that any and everytime u make your exhaust bigger or even if it’s just the exhaust tip it will always be louder. Not true really. In this case it doesn’t suprise me that it’s a titch bit louder cause the comparison is so close. It’s already so deep of a sound and such little change but the tip where the extra echo made it a bit louder. Believe me thou if the whole truck was smaller exhaust it would be louder whether if it’s diesel or gas. And bigger tips only work to an extent. I ran no tips. 3.5 inch tips and even 6 inch tips all on a gas truck with small pipes. The 6 inch tip was the quietest by far got rid of a lot of rap. Like I said in this case not suprised it worked going a little louder If it’s a drastic change smaller exhaust will be louder if all else is equal. My gasser is 127 decibels. However sounds great nothing againist that great job!

@@TruckMaster , well I lied a little bit. Lol. I ordered my ss Flo~Pro exhaust (4") & they had their polished tip with logo in 5" but no 6", so I just went with that. Installed it 2 days ago with a 3" down pipe from Thoroughbred racing. I'm happy with it, it really opens up that breathing passage & looks good doing it! The fit & finish is very nice. Stock heat shields and down pipe removal was definitely not fun. New stuff goes in like butter though. Thanks for the tutorials, Truckmaster!!

Cool video, but real bad idea to use a impact wrench to torque to lug bolts. It’s an easy way to over tighten, and shear a bolt on the freeway… or crack a spacer is you’re running those.
