Well Amazon sells lots on movies and already has some exclusives but just 1 title doesn't turn it into the king. I would rather have Walmart be the steelbooks king because I can get it in my hands. With Amazon you have to order on-line which I try to avoid. You think $40 for a 4K steelbook is a lot? Well I bought The Kindred Blu-ray steelbook for $70 and Tombs Of The Blind Dead Blu-ray steelbook for $50 now that's expensive!🤑 Anyway good topic and cool video Mike!👉🙂👈
@@megamikethemovieman maybe, but if it was a lucrative business Amazon would have found a way to take it over by now. They only see value in its streaming service, not in physical media.
Amazon will not be “the King” of steel …. Best Buy before exiting the steel market last year put out over 100 exclusive steels. At this moment Walmart has already put out 50 exclusive steels to date this year. Amazon has always had an exclusive steel every now and then, but never has embraced the market to continue making them consistently. So after all said and done, If they continue the numbers and pace that they have so far - Walmart is going to keep sitting on the SteelBook throne 😊
@@megamikethemovieman ~ I soooo wish I knew how they decide what to put out in steel or if it’s just from a list of choices they are given from the studios. But I feel Amazon does not want a majority of that niche SteelBook market, they’ve had unlimited chances to by now if they really wanted it. 😞
@megamikethemovieman I guess, depends on the title. If it's a franchise with several movies. Then no, I like the movie collection altogether. Saves shelf space that way, if it's like one movie, maybe.
Mike, how do I put this as kindly as possible? 4 K is a lost cause. The DVD of GHOSTBUSTERS (1984) is $5. on amazon. The 4 K is $20. And at least when you buy digital copy of a film (even in HD), you still have the convenience factor. And you don't have to buy a whole new system.
@@megamikethemovieman Chances are, they wouldn't phase me. If you want something that did impress me, it was this. A 10 DVD 📀 boxset of THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS episodes. It is about the size of a VHS tape. And it has a picture with Peter, Egon, Winston, Ray, and ECTO 1. Plastic. But I didn't care.
