I have to thank the French in the stadium for respecting the moment of silence for Beckenbauer and Brehme. It doesn’t happen very often that you can’t hear a single voice in the stadium during these moments.

The French weren't arrogant at all, I don't know why it's always portrayed that way. No whistles during the national anthem and complete silence during the moment of silence at the beginning. They were wonderful hosts to us, kudos to them. 🇫🇷 🇩🇪

Germany beat france last year aswell, there it was "Mbappe was missing", this time its "Griezmann was missing". Germany was the better team in both matches and they mostly struggled against low ranked teams.

Arrogance? They played Germany. Its not like Germany has worse players than France or any other team. They might have struggled lately, but if you find the right formation and confidence with those players they can beat everyone. They are still one of the best teams in the world no matter the latest results.

I like how Germany was playing as a team. Nagelsmann did a great job to build a new team with players like Andrich, Mittelstädt etc

What struck me was that Germany destroyed France in midfield. The only way France could pose a danger were occasional individual efforts by their wingers Mbappé and Dembélé. That was really surprising. If Germany play like that in the Euros (and beat Scotland in the first game) they could fare better than everyone expects.

The disrespect against the biggest powerhouse in Europe is unbearable. Besides their strong economy German women and men have 17 WC or Euro titles in total. How many France or England? We're just back lol. We're finally playing nice football again. That win was really imporant for us after the phase of us being bad. The public aren't utterly shitting on our national team anymore, which is a really positive sign.

France looked slow and sluggish

I saw some good team defending from Germany. Ter Stegen didn’t need to do a ton in a good way. Also so happy for Mittelstadt, shame he had to leave Hertha Berlin but making the most of it now.

Imagine you put an inform sane or gnabry into this team and a more physical goretzka for gündogan who was poor. Germany looked very very impressive.

I'm telling you Florian Wirtz is deff $150 million dollar player. He is immense and can literally do it all.

Everyone forgets that this german team has controlling midfielders (Kroos, Groß, Gundogan and Pavlovic would add Angelo Stiller from Stuttgart) and two No.10s in Wirtz and Musiala that all can keep the ball + Kimmich inverting just gives them so much control of ball, the reason their possession game works now is because they have a PURE DM in Andrich who acts as a shield for the defence and as for Kroos.

This was a great result, even if just a friendly, franc3e were trying...have we finally turned the corner, I ask myself. And a clean sheet!! I guess only time will tell. I also love the new kit :0)

What the subs have basically done is make sure that they will not take the place of the regulars... just very poor. Not sure why Kounde played over Clauss, Pavard over Saliba, Zaire Emery over Camavinga... I understood Thuram over Kolo Muani but that was it.

It's a friendly. France are always atrocious in friendlies unless it's right before a major tournament. Not sure why we even play them. The players are mostly trying to get through a match without getting injured UNLESS they're fighting for a spot on the team. I think France has more losses than wins in friendlies in March and June over the past 15 years. I know that's true for June 100% but I need to check for March. I can't remember us winning one unless it's Gibraltar or someone like that lol.

We (Germany) tend to struggle more with more defensive teams. Let’s see how this will work out against our starting match against scotland.

Germany was much better. As a french, really felt that the french players really didnt care. Which of course is inacceptable. But this match is a good reminder that there is much to do and frankly prefer france arriving to euros as outsiders. Get some confidence with easy friendlies before the tournament and take game by game as at the last world cup. Not very scared for the moment and the results will come down at the end of the euros

The Germans made an early Goal and that gave them self-confidence in every Action. When you take a deeper look into the german Team then you see plenty of young good and hungry Players combined with older experienced ones. Like Kroos, Gündogan or Müller. I'am not sure if they can become european Masters or not but that is a Team that have potential.

Even under Flick, the team never had any major problems or at least never lost to top teams like France, England, Italy or Spain, who play along and don't just stand at the back and wait for counter-attacking opportunities when the Germans make mistakes. The judgement on the current development of the team can only be made after a direct encounter with a defensively destructive team like Japan, Hungary, Turkey or at a higher level such like Croatia or Austria, who work effectively against the ball in a pressing-resistant manner (you didn't see any of that from France, where the absence of a playmaking Grießmann was clearly noticeable). Accordingly, the German DFB team will rehearse against Ukraine and Greece shortly before the start of the tournament. The prediction for Germany’s tournament performance itself should therefore not be raised too high, because under extreme pressure of expectation, things can quickly tip in the other direction, especially against the physically brutal Scots, who have less to lose as underdogs. There are two reasons, firstly champions leagues games are in about 2 weeks from now and players don’t want to be injured because of friendly game, secondly the stakes were higher for Germany who is hosting the next Euro and needs to be more confident. That being said, i wish France put a little more effort in friendly games but i don’t really worry for them for next Euro. They ve also lost games before WC 18 and WC 22, we ll see if they are really bad or not in June.

Germany played better than France. That’s why we won. As simple as it is! Key was that Germany had a defense which was non existent in last 6 years. We always had an extreme high defending line and invited every team for counter attacks. The foundation of a good team and game is always the defense! It is important to see how Germany plays against Netherlands. If we can repeat the performance we might have a chance for a momentum shift and might play a reasonable European Championship!

No Griezmann no party

France are missing a solid holding midfielder like Pogba. The Wirtz goal was shambolic defending - wide empty space for him to walk, smoke, call up his mum before shooting. Germany schooled France. And Deschamps lacks any original out-of-box thinking. Either Mbappe, or nothing!

France misses Kante , Griezman is amazing and the engine for that team, but Kante was that guy who broke every counter and made the other midfield uncomfortable throughout the game , most likely he won't get the call for the Euros and that's why i say France will not get passed the semis they don't have a similar player.

One thing is certain: France didn't play their best and were quite careless.

Germany can play their style of football against 'big teams' but they have problems against team who definitely will park the bus against them and just proceed only on counters..and this is what they should expect in their group in Euro..

Nagelsman clearly deserves credit for organizing this German team encircling Toni Kroos after so many days. Kroos was the quarterback they were missing badly.

Deschamps is on the way damaging the team structure. What was a good, balanced, homogeneous team at the 2018 World Cup has become more of a "one man show" in recent years. Everything blooms and shines with Mbappe, or goes down without him, or with him. Shouldn't be the case with all the outstanding players and talents and the superteam they have.
