Is Ceramic Coating worth it, would I get it again? *Honest Review* 

Anyone who takes time out and share information to people who are looking for it is gracious with their time and efforts. Those who go on here to hate are the same ones who have been hated on and don't know how to deal with it. EcoBeast, keep doing what you are doing. If it helps one person and at the same time draw the negative haters out there, I assure you it is the one that you help that is worth anything. Peace!

What's with all the NEG' comments people. I looked up a Video on Ceramic coating and is it worth it? This guy delivered a straight up description about the Ceramic Coatin, What it is, How he feels about it after real life living with it, Does it matter when you apply it in a cars life OR How the quality of the cars paint affect the outcome of the coating. AND... it wasn't a long boring video, straight to the point on all counts. My life revolves around V8's, I make a living with them, My family drives V8's, do I agree with a Mustang without a V8 hell no, but serously, it is the guys choice and if it makes him happy respect his decision, after all if we all drove the same car and engine then we would have nothng to talk about or appreciate. Very nice feedback on what you think vs what you were expecting! Couple of common misconceptions. 1. Ceramic coatings don't fill or fix swirls, scratches, or anything else wrong with the paint. Paint corrections need to be done prior to installing ceramic coating. Even for a brand new car just off the lot. This is usually done by a professional auto detailer via super cleaning, leveling, and polishing. Also, any paint chips or paint scratches need to be addressed first. 95% of the cost of doing a ceramic coat is in the labor for all these steps. And it is worth it. 2. You can still get scratches! Ceramic coatings aren't armor. They do an amazing job at being hydrophobic (repelling water), and they protect your paint from harmful UV, bug guts, etc. For something stronger you can get a full-wrap in clearbra. 3. Clearbra can be applied to the entire car which doesn't change the look and fully protects the paint for years. 4. Ceramic coatings can be applied on top of clearbra, which makes an amazing combo. You get the strength and scratch resistance of the clearbra, plus the just waxed wet look, hydrophobic, and UV protecting qualities.

Good Vid brother....Yep, I got the entire front hood and bumper clear bra'ed at 80 miles and used Sonax C33 Ceramic at 118 miles. It looks beautiful...but I polished it it before hand with Meguiars Cleaner Wax. It took me 6 hrs but well worth it and saved me $$$. Yes, I put the Ceramic coating on my clear bra too....the clear bra's have a layer of clear coat over them.

What's up with all the negative comments? This was a one year review of the ceramic coating he had applied to the car. Not everyone wants a gas guzzeling V8 since most of sit at red lights and are stuck in traffic jams on the highways. If you all enjoy rushing, in your V8 to sit at the next red light, that's your prerogative. Personally, I am not a Ford fan, but I am not going to troll over it. BTW good video dude.

Everybody hating on the EcoBeast Mustang obviously hasn't done their research. Yes, it sounds weird coming out of a "muscle" /pony car. But fuck it, we are in an age where there are 2JZ-GTEs and LSs in a Prius. There are even cars that make NO noise. Get over the sound. Moving on to the research, COBB has a customer with a stock engine and stock turbo Mustang that runs 11s in the 1/4. Guess what? A FULL FUCKING BOLT ON FIVE GODDAMN OH Mustang GT, runs 11s. It is VERY impressive that Ford has made a 4 banger package in such a badass chassis as the Mustang S550. it is cheaper, good on gas, but still offers that pony car experience. And don't act like 4-cylinders haven't been in a Mustang. Some people want a cheap, reliable, fun daily. Doesn't beak the bank and it's not a Prius or Corolla or Civic.

Nice review 'Stangemode' as usual. As you recommend, I got the coating when I got my 2018 Ruby Red Mustang. I looks fabulous and often get positive compliments from people. It was maybe costly but I love my 'Stang' and it's worth it. Thanks again, and the "Ecobeast" looks awesome! 🇺🇸💪🏽

Hey, I have a 2015 mustang and get a lot of water spots on my hood when it rains. Did the ceramic coating help limit them? Where they easier to wash off with power washing? Thanks

Understanding how ridiculously soft, thin and fragile today's clear coats are (2-3 on the MOHs scale), ceramic coating should be standard issue for all cars, especially work and daily driven vehicles that face real world conditions and can't be washed often.

Be careful with touchless washes. They use stronger detergents which tend to eat away at protective coatings.

But, that's people. Having said that, does your particular brand of clear coat require any maintenance? How long is it warranted to last? Have you noticed any degradation or yellowing? Like that blue! Got an eco in an F150 of my own...great engine! I'm new to serious detailing, but had 2 questions for you. The scratches to the clear coat don't look that deep. Could you not hit that with some cutting compound and like a microfiber cutting pad to hopefully get rid of some of that? I thought that after you ceramic coated the vehicle you were't supposed to wash it? Wouldn't that take off some of the ceramic coat?

I thought it was a V8, but it sounded like a Vacuum cleaner when he gave it gas. That's the drawback with those cars. Bad sound.

Got a gtechniq coating but cost me 1000 more. It's a 10h coating and they give a 10 year warranty on it. You should check em out.

For anyone wondering about ceramic coating. I recommend cquartz 3.0 or crystal syrum light. Also make sure to prep the car and do a two step polish (if needed) before applying ceramic coating. You can’t just put ceramic coating over your car and call it a day, Need to make sure the paint is perfect and clean so the coating can bond.

Sounds like a tractor but I did like the information on the ceramic coating. I respect your car and your taste nonetheless.

Skip getting a new plastic coating, look for the nearest muffler shop! Ahhh My friend had a car that sounded like that and all he did was take a screwdriver and punch holes in the muffler.

The people hating on here are hilarious. A '15 EcoBoost Mustang is as fast as a pre-5.0 GT all day in a straight line and will own it through corners. Personally it isn't my favorite sound, but it's still a good car. Thank you for the video and the real world information on the ceramic coating.

I generally don't like mustangs but that one actually looks nice. And the wing is tastefully. We'll done. Picking up my ceramic coated car tomorrow and looking forward to the low maintenance.

automatic car washes kill your coating. the chemicals they use are very harsh and will eat away at the coating faster than a pH balanced soap.. source: i own a detail shop

Ok, lets say I just bought an old truck in great condition. Now lets say body has no dents or nothin but has 10 - 20 of scratches of all sizes in random places should i pay to get those fixed then get this done which may take awhile because money. Or get this done and then fix the scratches? Is that even possible after this ceramic thing is done?? Can you fix those imperfections post ceramic procedure?

I'm supposed to get a paint correction and 18 month ceramic coating put on my car tomorrow and they told me it would take at least 6 hrs and cost me $850 which is a discount vs the normal price. Does that sound good? I have a 2017 Mercedes Benz E300 I just purchased certified pre-owned

I would love it if after I finished washing I could just drive around without getting any water spots or areas that then need to be wiped down with a microfiber towel. I have a GT with long tubes and 3" MBRP goodness all the way back... I love the sound! But a turbo 4 with down pipe and exhaust still make me smile! Your car sounds legit... Nice ride !

So, just curious, this stuff, IS NOT the same shit they were spraying on cars at dealers back in 2000-2003 that made all the clear coat flake off...right? We had 3 cars from that time period, and all 3 had dealer coatings applied, and all 3 the clear coat flaked within 3 years. All 3 were kept washed and waxed.

A car is like a pair of shoes.... You cannot expect to have it protected like the Mona Lisa... A car is meant to get scratches and scrapes and dents... It will only end up in the junk yard in a few years.

I am interested in getting a ceramic coating on my 1992 Camaro Z28. I have some questions if I may: 1. Do they also put it on the windows and mirrors? 2. I currently use TOPCOAT F11 and LOVE IT.. But which the shine remains, the slickness does disappear until re-touched up or apply water and buff dry.. It looks like it will cost me around $2000+ cdn to 2-step paint correct, and applying a cermaic coating: SLICKNESS remains the entire time or is it like F11 where the shine is there but the slickness dissipates and either re-add more F11 or wipe with water and dry to get it back.. There is a local shop here in Vancouver BC Canada that will do it for $2,000cdn Local shops quote: From $2000 Wash and decontamination Up to two stages of paint correction/polishing 4 layers of Ceramic Pro 9H Glass Shield 1 layer of Ceramic Pro Light Ceramic Pro Wheel and Caliper Ceramic Pro Rain front 3 windows I am in a LOT of car shows both IN and OUT and I always want the car's slick paint surface to be there as part of the showing of the car.. As a result, I am very curious if the SLICKNESS always remains there or do I have to touch up with some type of detail replenish product?

How many layers did you get done? Do you still need to hand clean it as it still must get road crime on it that doesn't cone off.

It's not after the first year, it's after 2 years where the downside of ceramic coatings comes into play. It's a longer degrade time but it will degrade. And unlike wax, you can't just reapply it. It has to be removed completely and reapplied. And the only way it can be removed is to sand it off. And that.. that will cost you a lot more than $700. Give it a couple years... You'll regret having done it in the first place come time to reapply it. Unless you got money to burn. Me, I wax it once a year. Reapply when and where needed throughout the year. Doesn't cost near what a ceramic /nano coating costs. And it isn't permanent. So I don't need to sand it off. There's downsides you haven't even begun to deal with yet by putting that on your car. ... But you will.
