Is Clavell the SECRET VILLAIN of Pokémon Scarlet & Violet?! 

Gotta love how ever since Sword & Shield, every time a new character is revealed in a trailer, the entire fanbase calls them evil.

Another example of the troupe of respective members being evil: Half the gym leaders + all of the E4 in Gen 1's manga are/were in Team Rocket in the manga, not just Giovani and Blane (and maybe Sabrina evidenced by original JP Gen 1 sprite).

It never fails. If an anime character has just a bit more detail beyond the genericness of our protagonists, and has a relatively cold stare, it's always assumed that they're the bad guy. ...and if a character has too much detail in an anime, they're the first to die, because they're too difficult to draw.

I mean, it seems like their setting him up as a twist villain, why else would they put so much emphasis on the headmaster, a character you likely won't be seeing much after beginning the adventure

I still think that the villains could potentially be Turo and Sada and that Jacq is the real "professor". The website states that he is the one who designed the Pokedex in Paldea, just like other professors in their home regions. He also follows the tree name pattern. It's name probably is inspired by the Jacaranda tree, a plant native to South America that produces purple flowers, just like Jacq's hair and clothes color. Clavell's name comes from the spanish word for carnation. Carnations mainly represent good things like love, respect and admiration. Also the website says he is a great friend to Turo and Sada and maybe they are using him to incentivate this "treasure hunt" for something they are looking for their evil scheme.

GameXplain: "Look at this guy, he's a snooty-looking adult, you're telling me he's supposed to be in charge of HIGHER EDUCATION?!?" Me: "Um... what's the guy who's in charge of this historic and prestigious school supposed to look like besides a snooty-looking adult? I mean, I'm not saying I'm 100% certain Clavell's not going to be a twist villain, but his character design could also be going for stern-headmaster-of-a-prestigious-school vibes, which is exactly what he is."

That's what we all thought when we saw him for the first time. Turns out he's super chill and just wants to understand the younger generation and help them succeed.

Rule number 1 of Villainly never make yourself the obvious suspect. It’s too easy I hope GF learn this lesson but than again they keep repeating the same mistake over and over.

First thing I thought when I saw this character was evil… hope it’s not that obvious. If it is well that’s the third time I’ve seen someone in a Pokemon character and saw how obvious it was they are evil…

i watched the presents with mt friends on discord. when it popped up with his name, we all said at the same time, "hmm, he's the villain then"

I think Clavell might be the champion. In the scene when he give us "treasure hunt", there are 4 teachers standing beside him. So i think the game tease us elite four and champion just like how in swsh they tease us gym leader in the beginning.

TOO Predictable; They've already done this exact same twist in Gen 7 with Lusamine(4 Times; twice for S&M & twice for US/UM) & Gen 8(With Chairman Rose in SWSH & With Volo IN PLA). . .

Gotta give it to the character designers, lately theyve been designing characters with actual stylish and tonned down outfits and yet they have THE Drip and W unspoken rizz, Profesor Giga Chad and miss white girl look terrific, and Headmaster Cleveland is Peak

I thought this might be the case for a bit until I realized Jacq is a word that's is common in some alternative names for the Samanea saman , a species of tree. I think that the professors are going to be the main villains for scarlet and violet and the headmaster might be a second hand for the one present in your game.

I think instead of being the twist villain, Clavell will end up being the twist Champion of the Paldea region. The academy already looks grandiose enough the be this game's Pokémon League, plus in the trailer we see him surrounded by four of the academy's teachers. Could those be this game's Elite Four?

Okay one, I love how you made it loop right back to the beginning. But if they're gonna have the nice guy who's actually the main antagonist I feel like honestly it's gonna be Jaque simply because that's more unexpected and would actually strike a nerve with the player. Feeling personally betrayed that the super cheerful, friendly, klutzy homeroom teacher turns out to actually be not only super confident, super miserable, and using the player all along just so they could get closer to the Legendary Pokémon. And then Mr. Clavelle is just like ". . . Crud. Okay, I am just as surprised as you are and can't believe this guy of all people is behind everything. Oh great, that means even more paperwork for me and now everyone's going to hold ME responsible. I really should do better screening for staff. "Sigh" Do me a favor player character and beat this guy silly. If you can defeat me in battle your more than a match for HIM of all people."
