Is Embers Adrift A MMO Worth Trying?

This video is all about a new MMO Embers Adrift.
Created by a small indie dev team of Stormhaven Studios. The idea is to make it much like the classic MMOs of old.
Enter a unique world which is not so easy to play as a solo. I went into this run through due to the developers giving the community a free weekend to just jump into the game and try it out so that's what I did! I recorded what I found and put together a small video so you can see it for yourself.
Is Embers Adrift worth playing? It's not a free to play MMO it does cost money so with that in mind people do wonder if it's even worth to invest time and money into?
All I know for sure is that the team seem passionate about it. We have seen that story play out before though so really what can prove it's worth is well the game itself!

Getting all the Embers info I can get. I was there for release & was one of the higher leveled players until I quit mid December at level 19 due to a certain private FFXI (my favorite MMO) server releasing at the time. I am coming back to Embers now due to not being able to resist all the hype with the free weekend and big update. I hear leveling is a bit quicker, and there is a lot of new stuff.

Same thing has been happening to me except I’ve been caught up in Turtle WoW. Although I have wanted to check that FFXI server out. I think I’ll be giving this another look though

It's been a long time since I have sat and lost a few hours playing a game. It really has that "one more turn" feeling that I used to get from MMO's. I really think its fun to play in a world where you're not with a bunch of try-hards that make you feel like you're dragging them when you don't move past content like the flash. I LOVE that you don't level fast I LOVE that you along with everyone else will get lost pretty fast if you're not paying attention. Now if only it didn't make my 3060 sound like a B-1 bomber taxiing down the runway

I couldn’t agree more. The way they are pacing the game just feels really good. And yes that is rough. Most of my video that I recorded I couldn’t even use because the rendering had lagged out so much 😂

"The running animation with the 2 hander out.... man, it was something beautiful." That sentence is the dividing line between those who would and would not like the game in its current state. It's a game for those who would agree with that statement of yours. Everyone else ought to stay clear.

I agree, it’s definitely tailored to a specific kind of gamer. Given some time I am excited to see how they improve the game as a whole.

to be honest... its a bunch of messy ideas slapped together with Unity store art assets. the duct tape and bandaids are pretty evident. pass

Slow clunky combat and boring gameplay. I played EQ and that was so grindy and slow. I do miss EQ as the grouping was pretty cool, but I do not miss the clunky aspect and I will never go back to a game like this.

Ya the combat is definitely slow. I do appreciate the feel and difficulty of the game though. I do wanna see how they continue to develop moving forward.
