The idea that Atrioc had to show an accountant Quacks invoices and they all had dumbshit on them is very funny. just some tired middle aged accountant looking at this invoice that says Coffee Cow or the Glizzard lizzard is somehow poetic

Lowkey, you shouldn't be in med school if you aren't putting in the work to learn actual medicine. The quizzes might seem superfluous but they build memory recognition and help you as a doctor.

@@SomethingWittyRW As they say, better start eating healthy because your future doctor is currently cheating their way through Med School 😂. In all seriousness tho I am trying to work on it; I just have a major procrastination problem and I keep getting away with cheating so I haven't been pushed to stop. I really doubt that I'll be able to continue cheating through actual med school.

@godlyvex5543
@godlyvex5543 11 месяцев назад
I think in the long term, chat gpt will be good for education. That is, assuming chat gpt continues getting better. Right now a major issue is that you have 1 teacher managing like 150 kids (in batches of like 30 at a time), so the teacher doesn't have enough time to help everyone individually. Teachers are paid like shit despite their insane workload. I've heard about studies that say the optimal teacher to student ratio is... wait for it... 1:1. This clearly is not feasible in modern society. ChatGPT might change that. Assuming it actually gets good enough to the point where we can trust it to teach things correctly, we could have a situation where 1 teacher manages 150 students who are all individually tutored by a personalized teacher in the form of chatGPT, and the teacher can oversee the whole thing to act as a human component, manage the things the AI can't do, and the teacher can make sure students aren't jailbreaking the AI or anything. You might argue that this is a bit dystopian, but it sounds better to me than our current system. Our current system both fucks over anyone behind the curve AND anyone too far ahead of the curve. With a personalized teacher, every student would be able to learn at their own pace, and would always have somebody to consult if they don't understand something.
@godlyvex5543
@godlyvex5543 11 месяцев назад
@@tengille Nah, you're not getting me. You're still thinking about it through the lens of our current education system, where students get tons of assignments. ChatGPT is great for 'bypassing' the assignments. What I'm suggesting is different. I'm saying that the school could use LLMs to give every student a tutor that will bear any number of clarifying questions, will never get tired of their students, and can explain concepts in many different ways. The tutors will obviously be programmed not to just answer questions for students. You do bring up a good concern about teachers not being paid enough, but I feel like that's going to be a theme with AI. When AI gets to the point of being better than the average human consistently (assuming that's even possible), many, many jobs will be lost. But I feel like it could have a great impact on society, if we can figure out how to make a society work when over 30% of people don't have a job. In my mind this is practically inevitable, and to me it's always been ridiculous that our society is built around the idea that you need a job to live, but there has been no guarantee that there are enough jobs for everyone.
@godlyvex5543
@godlyvex5543 11 месяцев назад
@@tengille I think that south Africa's 30% unemployment rate is only a problem because they cling to the system they already have, and also it's a poor country. A wealthier country would be more able to make the changes necessary to keep citizens mostly happy. I think in the short term there will be a lot of problems with companies making absurd amounts of money and unemployment skyrocketing, but I believe that we'll be able to figure it out eventually.

speaking from experience, part of the reason for high grades with less knowledge is that online school makes it pretty easy to get high grades. I don't know how much full online enrollment differs to taking some classes online during 2020, but it's just easier.

The thing is standardized tests like the ACT rebalance tests so that the average score is x value. Just because the score dipped short term doesn't mean people are stupider because of covid than previous generations. The average has just shifted up covid was a temporary dip.

The problem is that employers aren't dumb. They know that the added value of a post-covid degree is less than pre-covid. A masters earned in 2022 has the same value as a bachelors from 2012 to many employers.

Talk to any teacher and they'll tell you that school districts are forcing teachers to give every single assignment at least a 50%, even when nothing has been handed in. Kids can only do the last assignment of the year, to get a grade that's decent enough so they can pass. But they don't even have to do that. School districts are also pressuring teachers to pass every single kid, even if they're clearly not ready for the next grade. School districts get paid when kids graduate and the kids are suffering for it.

Grade inflation is cool bc some colleges encourage it to get their students into grad school, so now students who do better at a school with less grade inflation are equivalent to those who would have failed without it
@stephaniemcgivern2508

I work in a k-8 school and honestly if the students could convincingly cheat, I wouldn't even mind. the students using chatgpt could probably pass without it. since 2020, kids are getting passed through without any basic skills. out of 95 7th graders, only 4 can read at grade level, most are 3-4 grades behind.

It's actually the opposite. In my opinion the average person is getting smarter at a quicker rate relative to how we use to educate ourselves; as a "Collectively" ... or as a society or one can say, as a species... but some of us are getting so much smarter because they're using Ai and technology, that we need an evolving generative spectrum of intelligence measure to accurately describe that we live in a reality where level of intelligence that some people possess is on order to use of magnitudes that are so advanced and so incomprehensible complex that. It doesn't even make sense having the conversation in the first place because that's how stupid some people are. Like in my experience, it seem like one has to explain the "basics of human discourse" first and then even when you explain it to them and repeat to them... what the thing is... exactly as it is... they still look at you and blink and then forget what you said. And these people are like politicians and are going into the workforce right now. Bro, it's a miracle that society has collapsed at this point.
