It's so sad how people hate on Alana for being overweight... It's not her, it's her mother. Alana is a child. Her mother has complete control over that child's diet, and she's clearly doing a shit job at it. Look at her other children, all but one are the exact same way.
That breaks my heard when she said it's embarrassing, I've struggled with my weight my entire life and I know that feeling, I just don't remember feeling like that at age 9 :/
I used to hate my weight at 7 years old because I was severely bullied for being thin...almost nine years later I somehow find myself panicking and crying sometimes if I lose only one pound...trust me it can go WAYYY back. I remember there was an overweight youtuber who didn't like herself at age 5...
They ARE full of excuses. All the food they eat aren't healthy so that makes it junk food. They never eat vegetables but they eat lots of their food with butter. Alana says that steroids make her fat, but that's just one of the excuses they use. Being obese seems to run in the family since they grow up with these bad eating habits. Not only that, but they never exercise. I don't know about them, but all these add up to the factors for the family's obesity.

June is the problem. Alana doesn't know what healthy eating is, or that eating doesn't mean do it until you can't eat another bite, or eating for entertainment. All of her kids look heavy so it's not the medicine.
Look at the family and their lifestyle and how they cram garbage into their bodies. Watch an episode and try to say with a straight face that little child is grossly obese because of steriods. Ask a doctor.

All week the family was in Hollywood trying to get TV channels to pick their show back up with no takers. June does not want help for Alanna, she simply wants to be back on TV for that check. They did five shows being paid for each one and comped at the best hotels. Alanna is nothing but a paycheck to her family. It is a shame, as far as I can see this is child abuse.
It's true that steroids can cause weight gain, but my cousin who takes them was only slightly oversight, not morbidly obese, so she must still be eating junk as well

Okay, people need to understand that this family had very little income before the reality show, and low income families CAN'T AFFORD to give their kids the best foods all the time. June is a single mother of four not only with little income but probably very little time on her hands to sit and make a healthy, home-cooked meal for her kids every night. They all seem to have lost weight after the show and are working on their lifestyles, but you can't change a child's lifestyle overnight. There are kids out there who need much more help than this, but they're exploiting this family and fat-shaming them because they're famous, not because they're genuinely concerned with the family's well-being. This makes me sick.
my mother is a single mother of 5 children , one child having autism, and she has a part time job. We still manage to not JUST get junk foods or canned foods, we still get fruits and veggies.
nooooo...."poor" people can't afford to buy pizza and bbq wings all the time. im a single mom of a type one diabetic and an asthmatic. who is on steroids as well and only weighs 60 pounds and is 9 years also. i coupon. budgette and go without in order for my kids to eat healthy. that $25 pizza and $20 wings and $5 butter they are eating. can buy a family pack of chicken. veges and have left overs to use to make a different meal. the Doctor is right. excuses excuses

I used to take asthma medication with steroids all the time and I was a little chubby back then, bt not overweight. It is very clear that the medication is not the problem.

It's true steroids make you gain weight but not that much! I also have asthma and been on so much medication since I was a year old. Majority of her weight gain isn't from her meds. It's from her mom feeding her crap she shouldn't eat that isn't health (I'm not a parent but seriously!), also genetics plays a huge roll.
First of all she doesnt understand what junk food is. They dont understand portion control. There is withdrawl involved when people stop eating all that crap food. It is like a drug withdrawl.

People need to stop making fun of this kid. She was raised to be this way. As someone who was an overweight child, I know that it can be DEVASTATING. Especially when it comes to school, and like she pointed out, not being able to wear the clothes she wants to wear. She is at an age now where she is realizing she is overweight and becoming more self conscious about it. I wish her the best.
Stop making her feel bad on a tv show and be publicly shamed, but actually help her! She is indeed onese, and has to change, but for her own sake and not anyone elses!

The steroids only make you slightly overweight, so that isn't the problem. I dare you to watch a bunch of episodes in a couple of honey boo boo's shows'. They show Alana eating a bunch of junk food, and talking about how deep-fried oreos are yummy.
Food is the cause of "honey boo boo's" weight gain...You can't eat a 5lb. tube of "may-er-naze" and expect to lose weight... I loved that show but fame didn't cause her weight gain!
Alana has to realize that her mom will not always make the best decisions for her. She has to realize that in order to make a change, she has to be willing to do it instead of going along with her mothers excuses
Even if they don't have a ton of junk food, if they aren't eating regular, balanced meals, it's going to halt their metabolism. It honestly just seems like they're all following a similar example of poor eating habits. Someone has to set an example for everyone in the household to follow.
they give them all of these opportunities without trying to educate her mom first. how dare they waste this money without building a foundation for them to know why they are trying to change their diet. Besides that they have a TV show and are fortunate enough to get their own pediatrician and personal chef.
I understand how the Asthma steroids can make you gain weight. I am Fourteen and when I was 9 I almost died from an asthma attack but off that, I had to take an inhaler three times a day, for two years I gained 20 pounds (yes food played a role in it) but today now I'm 14 and I lost that weight, but the steroids can cause weight gain. But it should not be a main cause. June DOES NOT realize that all that all the food she is feeding all of her kids is unhealthy. The best off at this point in time is the oldest daughter (the one with a daughter of her own). They do not balance food with exercise, on the show, they even said that they do not like exercising.
June, who should NOT be exposing the child to such as this, obviously willing goes on shows for money & whatever else she can get out of doing this type thing. I know that the Doctors program gave them help in the form of a chef (& no doubt the food) & still they chose to not follow a healthy eating program. She doesn't seem to care about any of her children. In my opinion June is one bad mother & a very self-centered woman. Those girls should have been removed from her care long ago. Sadly, great damage has already been done to each girl.

NO! Fame is NOT responsible for the little girls weight issues. The poor choices in the food given to her by her parents, way before any "fame", is what caused the little girl the weight issues. Sadly, she will battle weight issues for her lifetime because of those poor choices. Even if June were being truthful about the foods fed to the youngest (which it seems obvious she is NOT being) - June & the other sisters (except the eldest who did NOT live with June until the filming) are all quite overweight. It is obvious that none of those girls were fed a proper diet of healthy foods. June blamed production for the less than healthy foods they were eating on the show; however, there are clips of the family buying junk food. And, June, as the parent had every right to forbid production from bring junk foods into the dwelling. Oh, my goodness, there are "Cooking with Mama June" clips where she is making horribly unhealthy foods. Who does she think she is kidding? Not this gal! .
This poor girls going to grow up with a eating disorder, this exploitation on a child from such a early age is just disgusting. Shes going to grow up watching all of this, the scandal, the pushing to beauty pagents and just focus on all the negativity and awful views of people ridiculing. I love honey boo boo the series but this has just gone too far. I think this whole thing is a distraction to the scandal with the mum and anna. Weight should be handled very sensitivly and gradually. I noticed how they asked her if she wanted to loose weight and her response was she wanted to look skinner, is anyone explaining the health benefits as the main priority ?.
I used to eat junk food a lot but now I'm healthy, but I keep a balanced diet. I do lots of sport but every 2 weeks on a Sunday I'll indulge myself. I restricted a lot of things out of my diet cow cheese, cow's milk, products high in lactose, prawns, sugary sweets/candy, pork (can't eat it anyway) and fatty meat (but I do eat red meat just with none of the fat or ligament). I also cut a lot of friend food out but occasionally I'll have some.
I actually enjoyed watching the show because, although they weren't the brightest, they seemed to be happy and loving toward one another. It's not Alanna's fault it is June's. Kids lead by example. Alanna deserves to be a healthy child and she actually has a huge advantage by being in the spotlight she is open to more opportunities like this show and has a chance to live a healthier life if her mother helps. Unfortunately, watching this and several other videos, proves that June is not *actually* interested in the health of her child. (In this video in particular letting her daughter say "No, he's wrong!" because June does not want to own up and take the blame) Meaning: Alanna will most likely NOT become healthier, instead her health will likely deteriorate. Sad :(
I can't really see what I'm typing right now cause I when to the eye doctor today and they put some weird eye drops in my eye bolls and now I can't see UP close like at all so I have no clue if what I'm writing is correct or both my SO I will be back to normal in 8-12 hoses just to remind you I can't see what I'm wrong:)

I don't understand why everyone is so judgemental and blaming either mother or child or anything else. Most Americans have weight issues. I agree she is young to be already obese. But why not have an attitude of helping not judging.
