That is so true. My Japanese boyfriend shows me Love by his actions and he introduced me to his family. I think that is the biggest sign that he is serious. I think in the west people say I love you too often, so nowadays it has less meaning. I think a lot of interracial couples end up divorced because they don't understand the culture of the partner and expect romance like in american movies 😀

I’m 21, Asian, living in the US, and I feel like my generation don’t see the seriousness of meeting the parents. Like we’re fine letting our parents know and hang out with our bf/gf as if they’re just a friend of ours instead of our romantic partners. We are serious and committed with our bf/gf but not so serious that meeting the parents is a sign of marriage. Idk that’s how I see it but y’all probably have different opinions

Wow, aishiteru is not to be taken lightly it seems. Only if he/she truly is the one. That's something I find really interesting (& challenging) about the Japanese language. All the different levels of saying sorry, thanks, hello, goodbye, love you, etc. Maybe a lot of other languages have this as well? I don't know.

I like this one Japanes guy. I self-learning Japanese. He learning English. Neither us have confidence in talking languages we learn yet.. So we just texting each other. Also, there is the distance factor. And and there is another thing related with his job (which I can't really tell in public). But he told me that he likes me in Japanese text message.. And once our mutual friend (who is also Japanese guy and they spend a lot of time together) told me that the guy I like talks a lot and often about me, while he do not talk/chat that often with me. What do you think, is there a posibility that something work out for us? arigatou gozaimasu

Japanese is really difficult to understand specially to their feelings. They're so cold most of the time. I used to tell him I love you and I also got a reply I love you too. When I say it in Japanese he still reply in English. That is why its hard to know if he really loves me. I am just curious now if he say I love you to me but why he cant say it in Nihonggo. 😰😰😰 Since you told that I love you in English is like Casual 😰😰😭😭😭

Ohh😳.. thank you. For suggesting this to me. I think he's serious to me. Because he always saying to me "aishiteru" and sometimes he used english too. He's really not good on english when we have video call he use his computer for translator / translation. Because I speak english and my nihongo is not really good. So more on english. And he is 25 years old same as me, he wants us first to date and want to meet after pandemic, second introduce me to his family and friends and when we reach 27 years old , he is going to marry me.

He even cried when he send me off back to my home country but when we have our LDR, he barely reply my texts bcs he keep saying he’s tired from working. Hello Santinsan... My Japanese BF never says he loves me except when I asking him. For example. My love do you love me? He just replied yes... Hahahah For over 13 years we stayed together... I never had heard he first move to told me he is love me... Even I always say and told him that i love him. Since we livein as a partner, I didn't meeting his any member of his family.. Even I went to Japan 2times for visiting him in Tokyo I never meet his family. Even I ask him I want to see and meet his family he says.. someday... I understand my bf situation and Japanese traditional and privacy. I always follow him and I respect his decision thought I know his parent is old and his father had sick. I understand why he don't time or maybe he is not ready to bring me his family and introduce me. But you know. Because of due this pandimic. My flight going back to Japan is postponed. And I really something I need to let him go, I wanna give up to our relationship. Because I realized he will never be serious to me. I texted him and I said sorry for him, just I want to break-up I'm tired, i felt he doesn't love even from the start because he hide me From his family, his friends, he don't like to have a baby and he is not ready to get marrying me.
