One day I asked my religion hindu mom, "what happens if I discover that I am a lesbian?" My mom said "nothing, it doesn't matter. I love you as what you are". It was the first time I realized my religion might be one of the only religion which accepts LGBT community.

Actually Hindu texts do mention the LGBTQ+, but more in a positive and accepting manner. It is considered to be completely natural to be queer. There are multiple deities who represent the LGBTQ+ for example Narada, the messenger deity who is transgender. Also in Islam they are not taught to kill them, its just awful representation, in the Islamic religion its alright to be queer but not sexually, it's considered sodomy in Abrahamic religions which is against their beliefs.

@Peter Griffin fornthe very least let me give you a verse from the veda which talk of a "magestic flowing river flowing from the himalayas to the arabian sea." That river is the now dried up "Saraswati" River. Recent geological studies on 369 locations along the dried river bed has confirmed that the river had dried up around 9000 BCE so clearly if not the entire vedas, but atleast many parts of the vedas that mention this majestic river, we're created before that date. What you have read was colonial propaganda of the British trying to proove that Indian civilizatiln was not older that the Biblical timespan of 6000 years.

In india, commonly people live for prestige only. They never understand the feels or originality. Now I am young entrepreneur but still now no one to accept me as gay... they are ready accept or ever celebrating my achievements. But they never accept me as gay. I need that only. I don't know, how long I should hide myself to the society. Even though... In India 95% of gay people never open up their originality because they know if they open it, what will happen in this society. And this society never allow to gay marriage ... Eventhough no one ready to do that... In my past life... I did all what I was think to achieve... Except only one . That's finding my life partner. I knew in India ... That's not possible.. but I have a hope... That hope can live me next half of my life as single... Gay's life is India as Hindu... Is not easy one.... I have many painful memories. Thank you...

Vedas are eternal, the Vedas are full of Science, vedas existed much before writing was first invented, vedas are actually meant to be transmitted orally and it's not only for the vedas but for almost all Hindu texts such as the 'Devi Mahatmyam'. The people in North India were the first to "write down" the vedic teachings, they are not the composers of the vedas. Goddess Saraswati is the mother of vedas.

In Hinduism we believe that 'Atma' (the soul) gets an opportunity to look upon all the good and bad he has done throughout his whole life, after his death. He then gets to decide what's gonna happen in his next life, meaning he'll get to decide all the significant things based upon his 'karma' in past life. Say for example if this person is born blind then that means that his eternal soul has decided this punishment for him in this life for all the wrongdoings he has done in past life. It means that there is no hell in general, the soul gets to decide the hell itself in this world. Moksha is a wide concept though, it's like if you've done more good than bad when you were alive, for example if you did 'daan' that means if you donated your money or something for wellbeing of others, if you never broke your promises, etc., then your soul might get Moksha i.e freedom from this cycle of birth and death which is Hell in a sense.

in hinduism your sexual preference or your identity depends on your karma. nowhere it is specified if it is good or bad. nothing is unnatural in the eyes of god. everything is a part of god, and there is nothing wrong about any part of the god. If there is a god off course.

In Hinduism you can practice your kind of worshipping or have your own favorite God or criticize gods or even be an atheists unlike abrahamic religions where you have to follow a single book or set of rules. Homosexuality was never condemned or punished in ancient India. We hindus became narrow minded after Islamic invasions and British colonization. British criminalized gay sex and it was continued till few years back when gay sex was decriminalised. The marriage thing is a little tricky as different religions have their own marriage, inheritance, divorce, adoption laws which will make legalizing gay marriage tricky. If Uniform Civil Code is implemented which will make every religion to follow same rules regarding marriage, divorce, inheritance, adoption then it clears path for gay marriage in India.

Instead of conquering nation just say Islam, there was law in India which continued from it's Islamic days which made LGBTQ relationships illigal , which only got removed after the govt changed in 2014 and Modi came to power. But this is short lived as soon as this govt changed and a most Islamist govt comes to power this draconian law may again come back. For the time being though things look to be getting better in India for LGBTQ community.

If you think love marriage is against our religion then go and learn about Radha Krishna❤️❤️❤️ Remember things we were taught are more cultural based and religion and culture are two different things..According to the Vedas, divine love or true love comes from the soul. ... We have to love the soul.. clearly mentions tha love is between two souls meaning it is genderless😍😍 Hinduism is very chill, welcoming and less restrictive religion 🥰🥰🥰

It’s actually the only religion that doesn’t advocate homosexuality as a sin, moreover it treats gender a construct that can be fluid and malleable both in this life and the next. It’s true tenets and core philosophy are incredibly deep and nuanced, so Much so the great physicist and scientists have again and extolled the religion. Whether it’s Vedanta or puranic texts.

Hindu or hinduism is not a religion. It is just a mispronunciation of the river sindhu. People who lived beyond this river were called hindus and hence hindustan (the land of hindus). So you can consider it as a nationality. We never believed in any religion. We believed in dharma. But over the years Indians have forgotten this. This started happening after the foreign invasions.

What u said till 0:44 second is absolutely wrong. Hindus have their Bhagvad Geeta and Ramayan Scriptures which show is right direction . Yes we don't have a particular way like abrahimic religions have , to follow the orders otherwise you will be killed. Our Sanatan Dharma says " to do what is right , stand against wrong and always do work remembering God" . This is ultimate teaching of Hinduism.

I dont know the exact verse but Its strongly recommended to not marry in hinduism if you are member of third gender. also for sexually disabled people because it will corrupt bloodlines and deform social structure. For old times this was a good idea but not required today. But not sin.The way third gender people(mostly bi) were handled in ancient times was not very good because they were still kept away from main society.

But the problem starts with brahmin who become corrupted over time and created rigid caste system (manu) which discriminating against low caste people (indignious people of Indian subcontinent) and women for more than thousands of years. www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-35650616 en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dalit nirmukta.com/2011/08/27/the-status-of-women-as-depicted-by-manu-in-the-manusmriti/
