The part about DMT produced in our own bodies was interesting as fuck. If it's released in near-death/very high stress situations to possibly completely remove our perception of pain and something else, possibly related to our physical or mental performance idk lol, then that would explain all the near-death experiences where people say that they spoke with god or similar. That's just the DMT doing its job. That was really eye-opening to me. Thanks Barry.
I really like your views on religion barry, I think that really taking a moment to consider all the views in an argument is really important to advancing and growing as a person. I'm lucky that my parents never forced and religion on to me, and I don't personally believe in a higher being. But I never like to shame people for doing that, and every time I do have a conversation with a believer I really consider there points and not dismiss them straight away. Thanks for the vids, your videos always calm my shitstorm of a mind.

Your openness is a breath of fresh air. I personally don't find evolution compelling, but I totally agree that many who are against the idea of evolution haven't taken the time to understand it. There was a time I tried to study evolution seriously and convince myself of it but to me, it seemed like something people are obligated to believe because there is nothing better outside religion rather than something that was truly the result of pure scientific inquiry. Truth is, I find myself arguing with both creationists and evolutionists because neither side seems to often take an honest look at what the other side has to say and they just write each other off. To think that we can be so sure about what happened millions or billions of years ago that we won't even step back and consider what another human being has to say is ridiculous and I think we can learn a lot more from each other than we'd care to admit. The best way to find the truth is to find the best arguments out there against what you believe and consider them seriously. I wish more people had the open mind that you have. Turns out every worldview has its version of fundamentalists.
Definitely does! I've met those who also believe that none of the answers science has presented and the bible have presented seem conclusive enough and I tend to agree. Fill your mind my friends and let me know if you come across anything interesting!

I'm sure most "evolutionists" are fine to hear some criticisms but when it's the same repeated dribble for the past several years that's been debunked repeatedly, you can't expect us to take them seriously. I really like your videos, and you put me onto a lot of interesting things to research. I am curious about directed evolution, and what you said got me thinking. You say something to the effect of "our ancestors brains tripled in size in a short period of time". I was trying to find that, but all I can see is that the brain size tripled over millions of years, so a regular evolutionary time span. Could you point me to your source for the quick growth?
Personally I'm a Christian. Now with that being made clear, I want to say that it really sucks that you haven't heard people who actually do give more fair explanations of who God is than the types who tell you not to think about it. If the Christian God is who he says he is then He would want people to actually try to piece together how He made everything, what was used, and who He is. I've heard people talk about how the "God of the old testament" is a moral monster (Anyone who might get heated about this please hear out what I have to say). I believe that He is the same being from the old testament to the new testament and I don't think he was a moral monster. Of course I know that there are definitely people who would object to this like saying the old testament condoned slavery, they committed genocide, etc. and yet I think that it only appears wrong on a brief glance of the text, looking more into it I believe that it's usually misinterpreted, and I'm not saying that from special pleading, I really do mean that if you take a look at the earliest manuscripts and try to actually interpret what was meant at the time of writing, that it doesn't imply what people think it implies. I'd love to talk with you more about this Barry. I'd also like to address quick questions in the comments if this comment gets replies (If I get too many ones that would take too long to answer please forgive me, I get drained from this type of stuff fairly quickly).

Now, I'm going to give a cursory explanation of why I don't agree with all of these points. To start with, I agree with the morals not aligning with society today is what the majority of the message of the Bible talks about being contrary to what humanity is, but that's not to equate that to saying that the Bible condones things that are not good, of course I'll explain that in the later points that you brought up. Now, to start with the slavery passages, the passages I think you're referring to in particular are "Your male and female slaves are to come from the nations around you; from them you may buy slaves. You may also buy some of the temporary residents living among you and members of their clans born in your country, and they will become your property. You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly." - Leviticus 25:44-46 and "If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six years. But in the seventh year, he shall go free, without paying anything. If he comes alone, he is to go free alone; but if he has a wife when he comes, she is to go with him. If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the woman and her children shall belong to her master, and only the man shall go free." - Exodus 21:2-6 Now for a quick explanation, the first one is referring to indentured servitude, a.k.a. someone who decides to make themselves a slave to pay off a debt (This is just for anyone who's reading, it seems like you already understand this and likely the argument with it.) The second one shows that they are later let go if they take that amount of time. But keep in mind that people from foreign lands do not have a place to go back to sometimes, so if they choose to stay (Hence the "can" instead of a "shall") they can continue working to pay off their debt. That's not to say that God hates homosexuals, but God did not want homosexuality to happen. I don't think this needs to be argued whether the Bible actually says it. Now whether it's moral or not, is a case that can be talked about. However, on issues of morality, that would take too long for me to explain. So sorry on that front, what I can say is that Mike Winger talks about the topic of homosexuality very thoroughly. In that text, it becomes apparent that they're using hyperbole since in later verses it shows that there were those same Canaanites that weren't completely eradicated. I also know of some books that do a pretty good job explaining the historical and philosophical reasons as to why the Christian God is the same abstract God that many people say likely exists. The idea of God was always made in good faith. To do good in the world and to create a moral compass but some people modified it into a extent where the idea is lost. Instead of doing good it does the opposite and deletes humanity from the person holding it !!!! It doesn't matter If you believe in God or not just do good in this crude world !!!!!!!!

The other day I was thinking about how we know everything is made up of atoms and cells but would something smaller than them making them up? Would things just keep getting infinitely smaller if so are we just a bunch of tiny cells to whatever is higher in the infinite line than us. It’s fun to think about.

Here is my problem with Christianity which is what I grew up by, why would god punish people such as terroist, gay people and people who just don’t believe in Christianity if they didn’t know the “right way to believe in” if everyone knew that there was one religion to believe in to get to heaven then everybody would believe that religion but people don’t know Jesus so why would god punish people who just didn’t the “right way” by sending them to hell
I like the idea of all of these but there is just one flaw in the psychedelic one, your genes are predestined and don’t change because your environment changes, it’s a luck of the draw and I guess we pulled the giant feather.
I'm personally an atheist. I very rarely bring this up, simply because of how society views atheism(for the most part, there's always the exceptions that actually listen to your opinion). It really sucks that being Non-religious is often viewed as being bad, and believing in god is good.
