my observation..... I've never drank coffee, but if a Dr., drinks/enjoys coffee, he will find whatever evidence he can find, to support the drinking of it. If he doesn't drink coffee...he/she will tell you it's bad for you. same with alcohol.

i quit caffeine and every aspect of my life improved. i can list a page of benefits. i can work harder and longer without coffee and i can exercise harder and longer without it. i have better skin, eyes, teeth and hair. i look 15 years younger. ive become like a teenage, tons of energy, on coffee i was a zombie walking around in a hyped up manner. also caffeine affects your reality, the way you see the world, once u quit it's feel like u were drunk before, the clarity is amazing. i disagree with the doctor, try to quit and experiment. you never really get used to the side affects of caffeine. some people are saying their grandparents are alive but they probably look like shit and sit down all day long, quality of life. they should still be jogging at the age of 90 but theyre not. experiment people.. im 51, but play soccer in a club, swim, jog, go to the gym, mountain climb etc and on coffee i never had the energy

This article by Dr Nyman is very old, from 2012! A very smart choice from a coffee lover... With all respect, Dr Gundry. Love what you're doing. But the question about coffee remains open for me: the article never mentions acrylamide (a known carcinogen), acidification (lowers pH), damage to liver and kidneys, and who knows what else. A rare thumbs down

I really love coffee but I have grave doubts about its supposed health benefits. Just one cup of admittedly, very strong coffee, causes my stomach to become upset, brings me out in spots and sometimes gives me cramp in the calf muscles. I'm currently drinking it only at weekends and it still induced cramp last Sunday night.

My mom died of pancreatic cancer and was a big coffee drinker. There is a link to large consumption of coffee and pancreatic cancer. Coffe causes Dehydration which causes stomach ulcers because when you are dehydrated the lining of your stomach deteriorates. If you drink 1 cup of coffee you would have to drink 5 glasses of water to rehydrate your body and brain. The pancreas requires at least 8 glasses of water throughout the day for it to function properly. Without proper water consumption, the pancreas can not release the enzymes to aid in digestion and hormones. The pancreas releases hormones into the blood (insulin and glucagon). Both of these hormones require large amounts of water. If you are dehydrated, it can lead to diabetes. This is why most people who have pancreatic cancer get diabetes. When my mom had pancreatic cancer she developed diabetes. Diabetes does not run in my family. These hormones control how much sugar is in our blood. Insulin helps cells use sugar for energy or store it for later while glucagon tells the body to release stored sugar when we need more energy so when the pancreas isn’t working right it affects how our body manages energy The pancreas also aids in digestion and releases 4 enzymes into the gut to aid in digestion of our food. One enzyme finalizes the digestion of starch, another enzyme finalizes digestion of polyunsaturated fats, 2 enzymes that finalize protein digestion - This is why someone with pancreatic cancer die very quickly and they die of malnutrition because the pancreas can not release those enzymes to finalize our digestion. If our digestion is not finalized the nutrients in our food can not be absorbed properly causing malnutrition. If digestion is not finalized, the food can not get out of the gut and into the blood. This is why people with pancreatic cancer lose a lot of weight quickly because they are not getting enough nutrients. My mom lost so much weight and she was under 70 pounds she died. STAY AWAY FROM COFFEE!!! Drink water with a pinch of pink salt which has over 60 trace minerals and hydrates your body! Don’t eat white salt! It causes high blood pressure. White salt is stripped of all minerals and nutrients.

After all that explanation he said, there are still idiots who studied at " Trust me bro University " and feel they know better, presented with facts idiot is still an idiot. Myth busted, I quit coffee for almost a year now, and this is my own experiment because I came across some RU-vid clown who says coffee is bad for your health, honestly, I don't feel better. I'm not as sharp as I used to be, and my patience is super short since I work as a Sales Manager for a US automotive store, and in the morning at an Australian junkyard I have to deal with idiots every day who don't know anything about cars, patience is my number one ally Coffee gives me all that, and I feel sleepy within the shift all changed when I started taking Magnesium Glycinate that's when I started having deep sleep for 5-6 hours since my shift is 16 hours a day. Gave me that fresh feeling and ready for the day, but feels like still not enough, I don't know how competitive your world is but for me, I need to be on top of my game every day. I get all of that from coffee. Hope this helps.

I want to like this youtuber. His presentations on polyphenols, olive oils, and other topics, have been helpful to me. I must say, however, that this presentation is flawed. About halfway through the viewer/listener hears, "Association does not mean causation". This statement is absolutely correct. As a person with training in the area of research, I can say that a research study which attempts to validate results with an "association" should be listed as seriously flawed. Dr. Gundry presents this principle as the basis for his refutation of another person's research and conclusions. So back track to the opening statements of this presentation and you hear "coffee consumption has been linked to longevity all over the world' (paraphrasing, but this is his statement). THIS is an association linked to "causation". A research study with this association and conclusion should definitely be called "flawed" and could even be called deceptive. Corporations and marketers and lobbyists use this trick all the time. I would be very interested to see sources for this statement, because the advertising guys for Folgers could have come up with something like this.They may even sponsored the study. To decide on the merits of a "research study" you should FIRST check for conflict of interest. The reason for saying "association is not causation" is that there could be multiple reasons for longevity in countries with high statistics for coffee consumption. What are the other products which these same groups consume at a high rate? Do they also consume the most kale? or cabbage? or...olive oil? Do the people in these groups also have a higher statistic for regular exercise? The high numbers for coffee consumption could be co-incidental. A study even worth mentioning would show management of all variables...including origin of the beans, roasting method, and added ingredients, such as sugar or synthetic creamer. A person who sits there making a general statement concerning the benefits of "coffee" should be questioned. It is not even valid to speak of coffee as "loaded with polyphenols" without qualifications. The large majority of coffee drinkers consume pre-ground coffee. With grinding, the entire bean is exposed to air. A bag of ground coffee might sit on a shelf in a not air tight bag for a month. In this time, all polyphenol content will be lost. Polyphenol content for whole beans varies widely, because various roasting methods have different effects on polyphenol content. I have thought that I should respect this youtuber. After listening to this, I do not.

Yes, LDL (Low-Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol is often referred to as "bad" cholesterol because high levels can lead to a buildup of cholesterol in the arteries. This buildup can contribute to atherosclerosis, a condition where arteries become narrowed and hardened, increasing the risk of heart disease and stroke. Controlling LDL levels through diet, exercise, and medication when necessary is crucial for heart health. It's equally important to maintain a healthy balance between LDL and HDL (High-Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol, as HDL is considered "good" cholesterol and helps remove LDL cholesterol from the bloodstream.

Having more coffee than I should absolutely raise my fear level I become more paranoid and fearful, so I tried to keep it to one a day but it's hard because I'm addicted to coffee😅

Hi! Can you make a video on fatty liver and belly pudge, please. I'm slim , exercising 6 days a week; cardio, strength, stretching but still have the belly. I've heard one of the reasons could be fatty liver. I used to eat lots of fruit because believing it's healthy but cut down just recently. I'm not sure if that fructose was the cause. I'll see. Thank you.
@narniadan

By the way, I've your latest book but didn't get chance to read it yet.

Too much fruit is your problem. When large quantities of fructose reach the liver, the liver uses excess fructose to create fat, a process called Lipogenesis. Eventually, people who consume too much fructose can develop "Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease", which can develop into more serious Liver issues if not resolved.
@narniadan

@@Peekaboo-Kitty Wow! it's that serious. Thank you. 🙏❤ I have never been overweight but never though eating too much fruit would be unhealthy. I mean too much - 1 kilo of oranges in 1 day! Because I had thought I need to get vitamin C. The same for Apples. I thought it's healthy because with fibre not juice. 😪 Thank you.

@@narniadanFruit is meant to be a rare treat. Dr Gundry recommends an occasional pomegranate, small orange or apple, blackberries, blueberries, strawberries and raspberries. I think he says blackberry’s are the best.

@@tradwifeuk2117 I said to myself 2 weeks ago would stop eating fruit but it's difficult to give up learnt things especially thinking it's healthy. Yes, I ate Blueberries, Blackberries, Pomegranate this week but lots of it. I didn't have watermelon, oranges, grapes ...that type of fruit though. I think I'll manage to cut down slowly. I can't eat junk food, I'd vomit, really. I find the taste of junk food terrible, even the smell. But fruit looks so good and taste so good, too 😂

😂😂😂😂 I drink 4 to 5 cups of black dark roast coffee, no sugar, every single day. I have no hypertension, insulin sensitive, fasting glucose of 78, A1C of 4.8, Triglyceride 66, and just got my cortisol and fasting insulin levels checked, both at an optimal level range..everything opposite of that article you reading from.. so, I'll stick to my 4 to 5 cups of black coffee a day...i know my coffee consumption keeps me healthy..😊

Cannabis also is packed with polifenols, if vaporized with a safe medical vaporizer, it preserves those terpenes and delivers them straight to your system. Also having cannabis oil or tincture is another way to get them

Happy to hear cortisol does not cause weight gain, that means stress alone cant cause weight gain unless you eat from stress, then does cortisol not change our metabolism either then? How about aging? Does cortisol cause us to age anyway shape or form?

too much cortisol can blocks the conversion from t4 to t3 and cortisol increase rt3 and too much cortisol reduce the effectiveness from testosterone.
