Same here I don’t have this stuff in my home, I figure out these things on my own when I realized that I wanted to be healthy much as I could. 🤔 knowing that we live in most evil days everything was making sense to me what not to keep in my fridge …..
The reason I look and feel a lot younger than my age is because I’m picky about what I eat and drink and don’t eat any of those 8 foods. My health is very important to me. Dr. Gundry knows what he’s talking about and I’m thankful I found his channel.
On the other hand. My husband is 72 and looks 40. He thinks potato chips and pickles are vegetables and is basically a human garbage disposal. It's genetic.
Once a week our local grocery store will mark down the packaged salads that aren’t even expired for two days to like $.50 instead of 350. So for years, I have been buying and I even bragged to my daughter that they last for weeks after the expiration date. after seeing Dr. Gundrys video, those salads will no longer be seen in my fridge. I’ll quit margarine probably 40 years ago after a nutritionist told me how and what it was made of I pretty much don’t consume any of Dr. Gundrys list. So at 76 years of age, I have no health issues
It's sad that you have to tell American audiences to only eat European imported foods instead of supporting local produce, because US laws allow for harmful chemicals to be added to them. When will the people rebel and demand more safety measures for the food they're offered?
POOR PEOPLE NEVER WILL! (poor is a mindset) ALWAYS trading time for money when they could be healthy and abundant USING THEIR MONEY TO CARE FOR THEIR FAMILES THEY CLAIM TO LOVE instead!! TYSM Irmar!! WE ARE ALL WORTH IT!!! VOTE WITH OUR DOLLARS!!! OXOOXOX
Because they don't give a shit, they eat minimal fruit and veggies and eat pop tarts, chips, boxed cereals, cookies, cakes, French fries, fast food burgers etc. You think people who eat like that care what chemicals are added to produce? AND that is the way most Americans eat.............I lived in Europe for 5 years totally changed my relationship with food for the positive. You will rarely find a fast food place in europe. And the junk food isle in the grocery store is maybe 1/4 of an isle with 4-5 types of chips. Come back to the US and you have isles and isles of junk food and 100 at least types of chips to choose from.....................
US politicians fund their campaigns with donations from the rich. All those politicians want is to be re-elected. All the rich want is to get richer by cutting corners that leave our food unsafe. It's a sad state of affairs for our democracy.
I lived in Europe (Austria) for 10 years in my 20’s, American food in general is garbage. I grew up in Quebec, go into a grocery store there, you won’t recognize the meat, it’s not dyed, it looks REAL.
I recently started eating sardines - Season brand wild-caught, skinless & boneless sardines packed in extra virgin olive oil. They're very good. Each can contains one serving (6 sardines), with 1700 mg of Omega-3 fatty acids per serving.
King Oscar, Sardines.. Whole w skin and bones.. the best.. Seasons weren't good, I returned them .. My favorite were king Oscar, in water w skin and bones . Beautiful little fishes . But I can't get them anymore at least not at an affordable price . I can get them in olive oil. But why add more oil.. I prefer little to no salt . Could always add salt or mustard if needed... I can't handle salty food???
I have fallen into so many modern food industry traps and eating healthier didn’t make me feel any better. I am starting to see my mistakes and I am glad that I discovered your book while still in my early 20s.
I absolutely love your vital Red's and power Blues. So true, I tried Oat grain powder and prune juice for constipation. Omg!! I had the worst gut day ever! My colon went straight into IBS. Needless to say it did absolutely nothing for my bathroom issue. It took me 4 days to recover. No thank you never again. But I learn so so much from your teachings and has not failed me yet. In fact feeling so much better over all. Thank you, Dr. GUNDRY 😊
I gave up carbs and sugar and have lost 4 stones (56pounds, 25.4kg) in 5 months. The easiest diet I have ever tried. Once you beat the sugar cravings in the first week it's easy . My waist has shrunk from 36 to 32 inches maybe it's my mid life crisis I turn 60 this year.
@edntz ya ya ya, calories in/calories out, you're preaching to the choir. Perhaps you'll learn something about fasting some day and realize just how ignorant you are :)
Good video, however, I know for a fact, that not everyone can just throw food away. Not all of us are financial equipt to just replace them. When a person is on a set income or no income we will NOT waste one. bit of our food resources, that we do have. We consume them to the last drop, poison or not poison.. and most people today are just struggling to get by on basic food, even expired food that are given to millions of people at food banks and organizations to those in need.. but your videos are a good source of information to those that CAN afford to throw and waste food with money in their pocket. !
I agree with everything except with grass fed butter been using that along with olive oil I switch between the 2 when I cook and my blood work has been perfect 😝
Exactly... and also carbohydrates are carbohydrates... of course white bred is awful, but the sort of the bread doesn't make the carbs less :) So i t here is already a malfunction in our system of being unable to process fat... than eating different sorts of bread won't help...
@@shinzon0🩷 actually, Dave’s bread has different options between 1-5 g of sugar and starts off with 12 g of carbohydrates instead of the average 20 for regular bread. Also, Ezekiel bread is great. Both are from sprouts and not any wheat involved. Furthermore, freezing bread, one - two days can reduce the carbohydrates in it up to 31% and it’s toasted, another 9% reduction in carbs. I only buy bread once in a while, and one loaf will last me 2-3 weeks.
I just tried that sandwich you recommended & it was great! Lettuce instead of bread, avocado and sardines, I added a side of sweet pepper slices but I was shocked how good that was.. made it open face, thanks
Thank you Dr Gundry for sharing your knowledge ....i was brought up digging the veggie patch & hunting for organic manure cow n chicken back in the 1960's....i like to think i am food aware but your knowledge is truly Far out Man 👍🍀
Juices are fine if fermented for a day or two before I put it in the frig. It cuts the sugar down and makes it a living food again. I open up two capsules of probiotics and put it on the counter (do not reopen until refrigerated). Only have one in a hundred go bad.
Yeah, but when were they packaged. Sprouts is the worst for"fresh" salad by me. The sell by date is within 5 days when I buy it they are already half bad. When I catch them straight off the truck they'll last upwards of 10-12 days and sell by is almost 14 days out. Chopping my own lettuce it last about 4 days.
I was drinking cows milk till 20-21 years old back in my home country, every morning and evening, as soon as my grandmother finished milk our cow, our whole village was drinking cows milk or goat milk, you know why doctors don’t want you to drink raw cow milk ? Answer is simple - Because it too healthy for you
A tip from Italy: the Mutti brand of Parma is excellent. Their passata is 99.5% tomato, the rest salt. Their tinned tomato pulp is 99.8% tomato, the rest salt. No, I have no commercial interest. The recommendation comes from my 91-year-old mother-in-law. If it’s good enough for her…
Tomatoes can be bottled without any sugar. And then Cooke them and pass them through a moulin. Or make passata from scratch. If you require more info happy to supply, cheers.
I’m going to have to push back on the dairy thing which I have been doing is late. Unless somebody’s digestion just won’t tolerate it, there is absolutely nothing wrong with consuming dairy and dairy products. As a human. The cow produces more than enough milk for its babies, and has been a life saving food for millennia. I will postulate that the assertion that dairy it’s not meant for human adult consumption is partly coming from the animal-rights people, which is fine I’m all about being kind animals, and from a colonialist mentality. Because literally the places where dairy is very important component of survival peoples of this planet are areas that have been historically colonized and subjugated by white Europeans. I know it’s a hard pill for people to swallow, but this is a very privileged place to come from when you say that dairy and dairy products are not fit for adult human consumption. It’s just simply not true and I wish that this drum we’re not beaten, as if it’s true for the general public. We all have to find what works best for us and do that, while taking into consideration, the wisdom of individuals like Dr. Gundry and others. But there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all solution. That’s my soapbox.😅
I agree. If everyone listened to so many conflicting reports on anything these days we would eat nothing. Then someone would say "That's fasting to death."
I agree about the dairy itself being ok for lots of us. The problem may be what they add to the dairy or how it's processed or the packaging. We can't get raw milk in most places. I can't tolerate regular or organic store milk, but heavy cream in my coffee doesn't bother me. However, I can't tolerate most heavy cream, even organic since it has various things added to it. There is a local dairy that makes it without those things. It does go off quickly compared to other brands, even organic. If something is ultra-pasteurized that is another problem. I often eat goat butter, cheese, etc. But even A2 dairy bothers me. I'd try A2 heavy cream but have never seen it available, and I've asked the stores. I have trouble keeping weight on, which isn't a trivial problem or bragging. Unless I eat sugar, baked goods, etc. I have trouble and keep losing weight. That's why I like heavy cream and butter in my diet. I've recently tried Ghee. Wonder what Dr G says about that?
@@kdcraft89 yep it’s just as I said😅 we have to find what works best for each of us individually. Isn’t that what this type of thinking is about anyway? It’s about questioning the blanket solution status quo of the common American diet and of the common allopathic medical system which treats everybody exactly the same and we’re not. I don’t think anybody of conscience will disagree that our food delivery systems having become industry have taken out the compassion component. We’ve given up morality and Fidelity for availability and quantity. so it’s a challenge to obtain dairy that is digestible, whether that be physically or ethically, it can be done, and I support advocating for better practices rather than speaking 100% against the consumption of it.
Don't eat or drink anything that is tasty, convenient or easy to find. Got it! Change the way happiness is calculated...sounds easy enough. Order my lunch meats from the other side of the world...ok.
If we currently don’t have heart disease, arthritis or cancer can we still eat grapes or at least in moderation because I love all foods and vegetables. Thank you
I am from Brazil, live in the USA for 20 years. My cousin and I are the only ones that have arthritis, fibromyalgia and others. We are the only ones living in a first world country. I am helping myself with videos like this, because doctor won’t tell you and we need to fend for ourselves. USA wanted to have a sick population to go to the trillion hospitals and clinics around. Every corner of my city we got one extension of hospital and clinics. The other one is potshots, they are everywhere. We must to wonder why?
We have long been gluten-free and we follow Dr. Gundry, have his books. But this is all actually beginning to be too much. We are not rabbits. He's leaving us with so few foods we can eat and many that we cannot even find.
Rao's spaghetti sauce is great! Here are all the ingredients: Italian whole peeled tomatoes, Olive oil, Onions, Salt, Garlic, Basil, Black Pepper, and Oregano. That's it! No chemical preservatives, no words you can't pronounce, nothing you can't find on your own kitchen shelf. Just a great tasting, time saving sauce to add to your spaghetti squash dinner. Yum!
Buy up all that spaghetti sauce that you can raos sold out to Campbell's co. Im sure they will change the recipe to lower grade ingredients i also buy romanos spig sauce but its pricey but made here in Michigan
I was still eating grapes. I love them! Two weeks ago I bought some sliced watermelon and some organic grapes. One of them was contaminated with something. I had horrible diarrhea. I was prescribed Flagyl, a powerful antibiotic. I will never eat cut fruit again. Working on giving up grapes.
Hi Dr Gundry. Love when you are the only one talking to us. I like better Don’t like when your with other people You are the best when doing by yourself I’m Italian and never ate these awful fake foods ever Good you are telling Americans not to eat that junk
I only keep A2 protein dairy in my fridge , I eat organic green grapes only with raw A2 cheese, grapes have low GI index so it’s good for us in many ways. I also eat green apples with cheese too since greens ones are the lowest in sugar. I mostly stick to greens types of fruits. 🤔
I get my cow products locally, and I mean within 10 miles. I get my dairy from a local, raw dairy. 100% Guernsey cows. I agree that generally the feedlot dairy is horrible. Homemade salad dressing is, hands-down, the best stuff you will ever taste! SOOOO much better than store-bought, and so much cheaper too!
When i first time came to US, from Europe, i am from Lithuania, where we had fresh fruits and vegetables, and homemade sausages, etc… even our sweets didnt have so much sugar. And breads are fermented and so heavy, you can kill someone with loaf of bread😳😜😂 i went to supermarket and i could not eat anything for months Everything was way too sweet, or too salty. Fruits didnt have any taste at all. I guess i used to some fruits but still strawberries are way too sweet, blueberries only sometimes you can find , sweet and sour taste in them. And omg dont even start about the grapes, the only grapes, i eat seasonal ones- muscat in spring , it is av probably 3-4 months and concord , those are more sour than sweet. So i agree, fruits , and overall everything in Europe is so much much better. Missed cucumbers, that i used to pick , from our hot house( it had needles,) and wild blueberries and wild strawberries, oh and currants, ah 😔
My supervisor put a bowl of the bagged salad in a cupboard by accident. She opened the cupboard a week later and the salad looked exactly the same as it did the day she put it there.
It's so true, I drank two bottle of full fat cows milk all through my pregnancy, averaging 12 bottle a week.... I had an urge for it and didn't know why. Myself and partner were 5'2 / 5'9 respectively and when our son was born he was so long. He is nearly 6ft now and we could't understand it, he is the tallest in the whole family.... Crazy
You were smart to do this, and my mom was a farm girl and probably did the same. I came out healthy and she avoided anything that could have caused me mental and physical harm. A lot of women these days drink booze and smoke ciggs while pregnant, which causes severe mental and physical issues. Some of the teens and 20-somethings that I see these days have FASD and some that are just bizarre looking; something ain't right with their facial features and when they walk, they are slow and seem lost. Last month, a guy was behind me while at a stop light, and his son (maybe 13?), was shaking his head back and forth non-stop, and his dad ignored him. When I visit friends in Europe (France), their children and young adults look and behave normal and well-mannered. I think the American 1960s lifestyles of constant boozing and drug-use are ruining families and it has now gotten way out of hand. I have heard that smoking weed will negatively affect your DNA, which can in turn negatively affect your grandkids. People in this country need to grow up and get healthy. Our public schools now promote obesity, where in the past they use to promote good health.
Yes that I agree with folks olive oil really is the ultimate product to cook things in. Butter can add flavor. And I don't agree with everything that my elders did. Where they literally slopped in tons of lard or butter to cook fry or anything. I do agree that olive oil is better for you in many many ways so he's true and correct about that in every aspect
All these doctors contradicting each other about what to eat and not, leaves us with no "safe" food options that they all agree on. Screw it then. Eat what you want and be happy.
I like your videos and I appreciate your knowledge and you sharing this information with the public. However, I wish you would look into fruit a little deeper. I left my primary doctor when he scolded me for eating so much fruit as if I were an idiot. I grew up on a farm and I ate lots of fruit growing up. My body was used to the fructose (fruit sugar) and it didn’t bother me. I still remember the day we celebrated a nephews birthday and they brought out a cake which was store bought. When I took a bite of the cake which had frosting on it, I got nauseated and wanted to throw up. My body rejected it and I couldn’t handle it. To this day, I don’t care for frosting. At the age of 50, I went on a raw food diet which consisted mainly of fruits and vegetables. I did this for a year and a half. I didn’t become a diabetic, I didn’t get sick or got fat. Quite the contrary, my health improved and I had incredible energy. My aches and pains disappeared along with my allergies. However, it was very hard to maintain and I was very thin. For this reason I went back to eating cooked food and slowly, my allergies came back. While I didn’t have any blood work done during this time, I’m pretty sure my mitochondria changed because I had incredible energy and felt no pain. I would wake up with sweet breath instead of morning breath. I needed less sleep and I was never tired. So, I lived it, I experienced it. So when my doctor said that I should stay away from fruit because my body doesn’t know what to do with all that sugar, I felt that he had no idea what he was talking about. Coming from you, I would ask you to take a different look. Top athletes are actually doing this as they have discovered that eating raw food is the ultimate fuel for the body. Fruit is actually the authentic human food, not meat. We simply are not designed to thrive on dead cooked food. We, like the rest of all living species, should eat our food raw and living. By that, I mean food with its enzymes intact. With all due respect.
You can also move to a country whose agricultural industry isn't owned by Monsanto/Cargill/Bayer. After a year in Mexico, buying at local mercados, I'm 60 lbs lighter, lower trigs & cholesterol, more energetic and have improved LVEF from 30 to 55. Seems Italy, Greece & Spain would be the best places to live because Andorra is too tiny to find an affordable home.
I believe Andorra is expatriate heaven, so it is for super wealthy. I remember that me and my husband , were looking different safe places to live , in the future. 🤔
@@leejim9188 well then eat all the pre bagged BS you want to baby, that leaves much more of the great tasting, wonderfully mixed, FRESH veggies for the more intelligent folks trying to eat healthy. Seriously, knock yourself out!!!
Irun out of butter one day because I don't use much. So i used my air fryer with garlic olive oil on bread and some cheese my daughter loved it the only thing we use butter for is Vegemite toast butter gos off
Isn't goat's milk cheese much higher in Neu5gc than cow's milk cheese? Seems you'd be substituting one problem for another by switching to goat cheese.
Good list. But need to include all "vegetable" oils. Like canola oil. Those vegetable oils are both *high heat* and *chemically* treated to extract every last molecule from the seeds. The resulting oil is so processed that its hardly anything "vegetable" about it. Vegetable oils also rapidly oxidize further just sitting on the grocery store shelves and then your pantries at home will continue to oxidize into toxic forms. Instead, use natural cold pressed oils like avocado oil, olive oil, coconut oils much better. They're some 50% more expensive but well worth it. Unfortunately, most restaurants will be using olive oil. That's another big reason to avoid eating out.
My salad containers get rotten before the best date. So I don't think they use preservatives. I do think that they might put preservatives in the bags rather than in the salads containers because the bagged salads have this strange smell. That could be the preservative...
There’s a gas added to those bagged salads, I think nitrogen? They’re also added to potato chips. That’s what preserves freshness, and it does not harm you
@Dr Gundry Dr. Gundry, my husband and I have been eating the plant paradox way and absolutely love the results we’ve seen. Unfortunately, my husband has inherited, not only his mother’s gut issues but her autoimmunity. Recently, he’s been experiencing severe gas, bloating, constipation, even occasional pale stool😳. We’re stumped. He takes pre and probiotic and other key supplements but to be honest…I suspect his system is at the point of not even absorbing the nutrients he’s diligently taking, anymore. Please, please help.
@@cathyowens1264 Extremely helpful advice. I have to admit, we’ve found Big Green Organic’s millet pasta but might need to cut back on the servings per week. We’ll try those other products you’ve suggested too. Thanks again!!
