Guild kits should be an Arena event. Pay your coins, pick and kit and earn rewards. Because the cards in the guild kit may not legal standard they could leave them in game for legacy format coming or just make them delete and rewards could be a mix of packs, gems and wild cards to make up for it.

Is it bad that despite having no current playgroup and not really ever having built constructed decks, I collected all ten? (The new five will come in the mail within ten days.) I simply adore the pins LOL

I cannot even describe how cool it feels to have all of these lands in my cube. Those kits gave me so many cube staples, commander fillers and much more... hands down, best product from WoTC in years. I hope they will follow this path, because that's the way we want to get cards - good product with decent price tag.

Also if you get the Ravnica D&D dice set, there is a D10 with each of the guilds on it, so you could roll that to determine which deck you play if you wantd to xp

What i love about these personally is because they're mostly one-of or two-of copies for cards these kits make EXCELLENT bases for commander decks (since the format is singleton) The Orzhov one has tons of my favorite cards in it and i definetely want to pick one up, thanks for the review prof, Can't wait to put that foil Teysa between four D&D books.

As always a great video I personally have been combing the preconstructed guild decks with their corresponding guild kits to have a cube for playing with friends

I bought all ten and some additional packs to allow customization, then invited a bunch of friends over. The prize was choice of a pre release kit of their choice and I let them keep the decks they built. I have to say, it was the most fun I’ve had playing MTG since Archenemy: Nicol Bolas. I even won the tournament with my Golgari deck! I never would have seen that coming. It’s not a color combination I play... but with slight tweaks, I made that deck untouchable. It inspired me to branch out my color choices and play more Magic, so mission accomplished Wizards!!!

Just got orzhov , azorius and radkos ,with a theme booster for each , sleeved them and rdy to play ! , Thanks for the review. To add after few games 1v1 using diff decks each rounds , they are quite equal in terms of power . Though some could use adjustments like specific tech cards . Well deserved A grade for these guild kits .

Prof. where'd you get the Plastic case you are keeping your guilds decks in? I love the idea of having a complete set of the kits as a "Board Game" to pull out.

I am a big fan of gruul, and I wish gruul had a higher value, but still will be picking a gruul kit up. So much value and lovely bling. Thanks, Prof.

An important note about foil curling: Wizards has been aware of foil curling for quite some time, and I remember they put out an article about new card stock and printing methods that helped (or even solved) the issue, but that it would take them quite some time to roll those solutions out to _every_ company and printing location they work with. I've had plenty of brand new cards from many different sets where either the product I open never curls at all while my friends (in another part of the country) have huge curling issues with the same set. (I live in Florida on a barrier island, so can't get much more humidity and heat than that.) The only reason I can think this being the case is that I got some product from one of the revamped printer locations while my friends' product was from one of the smaller or older locations that hadn't yet switched to the new system. As you show in the video, the foils from your guild kits curl quickly, yet the foil Oath of Teferi was perfectly flat. I can only assume the Oath was from one of the locations that had improved, and the guild kits were from ones that hadn't.

Finally I was waiting for the whole set to be reviewed!

As a new player, I'm so glad I had preordered the Rakdos kit. Its given me some great looking lands for my standard deck I'm working on and some nice rare cards I was short of as well as the great pin and die. Your video has just confirmed for me the great value I have found from this kit. I might need to order some more! 😊

I bought the Gruul Guild kit yesterday, and my Domri Deck became a force. Love it!

That Teysa art is super! I'm going to get the Rakdos and Orzhov deck for sure.

The reason there have been so many odd specific commanders from the newest sets is most likely because they were originally intended to be for duel decks. If you look at both releases of the five guild kits, they each had two legendaries with new arts staring in opposite directions like the old duel decks. The art was most likely commissioned before the end of duel decks, but that’s just a theory.

I love everything Ravnica! Core 2013 & Return to Ravnica were my introduction into the game of magic.

I'm incredibly disappointed by the spin downs for the Orzhov, Simic and Gruul. Last time these guilds were seen, a la Gatecrash pre-release, the spin downs that came with the prerelease kits were gorgeous, using both the colours of the guild. I was looking forward to getting two of each for commander, but the other colours, including the baffling Orzhov, the Gatecrash version spin down is simply the normal White spin down design.

Definitely a yes. Honestly, I'm not one for sealed product besides Commnader decks, but these were a homerun and I loved and used everything in them, even the lands!

really suprised not to find any online bonuses in there. but happy with the results. opened my gruul and orzohv last night. so stoked to play them on monday.

The foil versoins of the GRN Guild Kit lands are in the current Standard Showdown packs. Maybe they will do the same thing with RNA next season.

About ravnica weekend, they also distributed a pitiful 20 copies of the foils for the high end LGS tiers... only reason i got any was that i was GMing the d&d oneshot

Saw Debtor's "Kneel" at 3:50 and had to check if my memory was bad but the card really is Debtor's "Knell" I know the prof said Knell but I wasn't really paying attention to the audio.

I just got the Simic and Gruul kit as a Christmas gift, I’ve had the Dimir and Orzhov kits since they came out, so that’s nice that I’ve got enough to do 2 rounds or a very janky 4 player game. Even though I’ve had some of these for awhile I didn’t actually become I big time Mtg player until Midnight Hunt came out. Honestly these are probably one of my favorite things WOTC’s ever made, and really sad that it’s unlikely that we’ll get anymore little side stuff like this anytime soon. I’ll keep my hopes up, but that being said I love these guild kits and I’m so excited to try them out!

Great video, and I agree with most of your points. I have all ten, and so far i've noticed the Simic decks seem to consistently fail it's user. I would say the rest are well balanced, but the Simic doesn't have great synergy or threat removal.

Looking back at this. We had 9 sets with Ravnica. Can we get a Ravnica Remastered set with select cards from all 9 sets in one? Also include the basic Guild lands as reprints. It'd be crazy, and probably a lot of fun.

If you use the "Explorer of Ixalan" Set, this guild pins are very usefull. I got all ten decks and use them as cube for plane chase, Ixalan and other casual modes

As you said about the bling it out basics. My commander decks with commanders from ravnica are all getting these basics. So Lavinia, nikya, and emmara decks are all getting these basic and nikya is getting a foil version of each from my ravnica day raffle win

I was looking forward to spindowns with colors matching the pins. The light blue on dark green for Simic and lime on dark red for Gruul would be great. Sad to see that's not the case. Especially for Simic - the lack of blue is really frustrating.

Where can I find that box used for the decks. Also hope ultra pro makes more of those sleeves

Hello, I'm planning to buy the guild kits. I don't know how many and balanced gameplay is one main concern for me that will determine if I just pick a couple or all 10 of them. For now with my friends we've tryied the Azorius, Rakdos and Simic ones. For now Azorius really seems weaker and almost never coming close to victory, even with different pilots. The color combination is however quite controllish and maybe more skill demanding than the other two, but it also seems to have less synergies in the deck, but I could be wrong. What's your experience with RNA kit balance? How do the other kits both from RNA and GRN balanced against each other?

Maybe it's a stupid question, but are all of the basic lands the same? As in, all of the lands that come in the deck are the themed lands and all the same art? There is serious temptation in buying the Orzhov one for the Teysa and other cards, and I have been looking to bling out my Karlov of the Ghost Council deck. I am torn between non-foil Guild Lands and Danner Standard Showdown lands!

Really happy with these as a successor to duel decks. Curious what comes next, if 5x casual precons is the new format or if these are only because Ravnica has 10 guilds

I was thinking of getting all 10 before the price starts to go up, and they're cheaper in bundles of 5. I got the golgari one for Christmas, so I was thinking of taking the cards I want most out of the second golgari one and putting in some cards that fit the deck that i don't use or spend a buck or two on it then donate it as a free to use/take deck for my local game store. Is that a good idea? Is it wrong to take out the cards I want/are valuable?

I have all 10 i have them all sleeved (Bought (non-foil) singles of each premium foil just due to the curving) and i also have the Ravnica DnD dice. Took the guild die from the set and tossed it in my battlebox. I also tossed in My Planchase planes and die, so My battlebox has all 10 guilds, all 10 spindown Life counter guild dice, the d10 guild die (used to randomly select a guild, although it tends to often lands on orzhov) and planechase for that extra bit I used the stanley 10 compartment box, and since i had another one from before, i simple swapped out a large compartment for two small ones. So i have 11 compartments, each one fitting a deck and one fitting my planechase. finally, i plan to convert the decks to EDH. There is a good amount of stuff and given that the only EDH i care about that I own is my Dragon deck, so I can take my others part and have not only my favorite deck (And my Jhoira cEDH deck) but have 10 EDh decks that I can loan out to friends and have fun just rolling to see what we play or heck, they may even hold their own in an actual casual game of EDH against other decks my friend's have

Pretty sure I NEED, yes NEED, that teysa and ruric thar. I keep saying I'll build teysa some day, she was my first legendary creature as I started back in the original ravnica era, so this could be the kick in the ass I need to do it :D

Our local LGS is hosting a guild kit battle instead of a draft next week. Instead of buying in and getting packs to draft, we buy in with purchasing a guild kit, and we have a tournament using those sealed decks. I'm excited and can't decide which one I would like to go with!
