"Son of God" expression logically eliminates the title holder option to be God, so own Father. As for Thomas in John 20-28,29, there are 2 explanations how he could have meant it. 1. Word "theos" can be used also for false gods and humans, so he referred by both (Lord and god) to the human - Jesus, see Psalm 82:6, not the God. 2. Based on Greek grammar he might have referred to 2 persons, to Jesus, and to Father whom he saw in Jesus, acknowledging both. But come on guys... if someone is Son of God, cannot be Father, so God. If you claim you follow the Son, so stick with his "Father is the only true God."

Since the bible states over 100 TIMES that Jesus is the SON OF GOD and only 2 times that he is 'GOD' ( one of which was an emotional cry from a doubting apostle! and the other a way of understanding the nature of the noun used!) I will opt for and stick to SON OF GOD! I am still looking for ONE bible verse that says 'God the Son'. Cant find ONE! Yet I have found THIRTY verses that say GOD THE FATHER! ( Bye the way not ONE that says 'God the Holy Spirit' either!) I like John's Summary of his gospel at John 20:31! That does it for me

In the man Christ Jesus, God was both made flesh (a man) and manifested (revealed/made known) in flesh (filled with the Holy Spirit at baptism). What was conceived in the womb of Mary was Spirit, yet that which is born of flesh is flesh, so the Holy Spirit was made flesh, born of a woman, the man Christ Jesus, made like us in every way. Think of God as an endless, limitless, eternal spring of water---the water of life. The water that flows out from the spring is the same as that which is found at its source. And no matter how far it flows from the source, it is the same water that is found at the source. God, who is a Spirit, is the source, the eternal spring, and the Spirit that flows out from the source is the same Spirit at the source. So God is both the spring and the water flowing from the spring. He is both the water and the source of the water. The Spirit that proceeds out of the mouth of God is the Spirit of God and is God. God is the Word, which is Spirit, and God is that Spirit. When God spoke the Word, which was God, He begat the Holy Spirit, who is the only begotten God and firstborn Son of God, who is the Spirit of God, that water flowing from the source that is God. The man Christ Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a woman, in the fulness of time, the Word (Spirit) made and manifested in flesh. Just believing is not enough. Obedience to God's word is equally important. Yes, it means exactly that, that Jesus is God's son and not God Almighty. Jesus never claimed to be God, he said that he is God's son. Even a toddler knows the relationship between a father and son, that the father is both older than and senior to the son. If a man's name is John Doe and he also names his son John, then the father would be referred to as John Doe senior and his son as John Doe junior, it's the same thing with God and Christ. Note these points: (1) Jesus is younger than God because God is eternal while Jesus was the first creation of God: Colossians 1:15 - He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. Revelation 3:14 - These are the things that the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God. (2) God is greater than Jesus: John 14:28 - for the Father is greater than I am. (3) He did only what he was told by his Father. John 8:28 - I do nothing of my own initiative; but just as the Father taught me, I speak these things. John 5:30 - I cannot do a single thing of my own initiative. Just as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous because I seek, not my own will, but the will of him who sent me. Other scriptures that show God's superiority: Mark 10:18 -Jesus said to him: “Why do you call me good? Nobody is good except one, God. Math 20:23 - to sit down at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father. Mark 13:32 - Of that day or that hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 1 Cor 11:13 - I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a woman is her husband, and the head of Christ is God. Rev 1:1 - A revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him. To give something to someone you have to be the owner of it, as the word "his" in the following scripture indicates. John 3:16 - For God loved the world so much that he gave his only-begotten Son. So, God owns Jesus. Jesus is his only begotten Son because he is the only person created by God alone, all the other angels were created through Jesus, meaning that God gave him the power to create as Proverbs 8:20 shows.

It can be difficult to wrap our minds around, especially when we are new to this understanding. We have to always remember that Jesus brings many opposites together, that is why the Bible says lean not on your own understanding. Our understanding tells us that if Jesus is the Lamb he cannot also be the Shepherd, if he was the sacrifice for our sins how could He be the one sacrificing Himself at the same time? If He was the Son of God how could He at the same time be God? It doesn't make sense but we know that it is true, Jesus said "No-one takes my life from Me, but I lay it down of Myself" it also says "No-one had greater love than this; to lay down One's life for His friends." So Jesus has a greater love than God? No, because God Himself found a way to give Himself for our sakes. Not to mention that if God merely sent someone else to die that would mean someone else is now our savior, and it would mean God committed child sacrifice for the sins of humanity. There are just too many things that don't make sense when you take a trinitarian or Unitarian perspective on the Bible, too many verses don't make sense or seem to clash with one another. But there is one lens through which things become clear.

Pastor Bernard and followers of Christ…please understand… The statement that was made “Jesus and God are exactly alike in EVERY way” gives us now two who are God! Now believe me…I know what so many are trying to say but it is unnecessary. All of this language and extra biblical thought is the result of an ante-nicene and post-nicene hangover. If you will. How can we make the above statement when Jesus clearly prays, worships, submits to, loves and honors, is led by, proceeds from the one who IS God. “Whose name alone IS JEHOVAH”. Unfortunately we have taken the name completely out of the NT and yet it is still there on the lips of Jesus as he quotes OT prophets and in the prayers of the early church like when they prayed for boldness in Acts 4:13 on. If the short answer is Jesus is the Son of God then it’s also sufficient for a long answer. Matter of fact why can’t we just make the “long story” short and just say Jesus is the Christ the Son of God… Again I reiterate…the words god and lord were not always used in reference to JEHOVAH…they were used in reference to Kings, Magistrates and Judges…check it out for yourselves…

I have begotten Thee”. The sonship of Christ is nowhere described in the Bible as a biological relationship to God, but only as a deep spiritual relationship. Gabriel told Mary that her son will be CALLED / NAMED the Son of God / of Most High (Luke 1:35), not as if He were physically.the Son of God. They want to simplify the truth about God, but they end up amputating the truth, since there is nothing like God, to be reasonably compared. I’m glad you addressed the whole “the son is only the flesh” idea because that’s a common enough misconception in apostolic circles.

I tim 3:16 reads in some low manuscript translations as "God was manifest in the flesh". This was found to be an 'interpolation' ( addition of text ) by a scribe in the 5th/6th century who changed the MSS from 'who' to 'God' by adding an accent to the middle of the letter! ( see Tishendorff 1844 discovery of the V1209 greek MSS of the new testament). So folks the Holy bible does NOT state that it was God himself who became flesh but "God sent his only begotten SON into the world" Lets stick to the words of Jesus himself!

Jesus is the Son of God with the spirit of God without measure. Jesus asked Peter whom say that I am? Peter said thought art Christ, son of the living God. When Jesus was baptized, there was a voice from heaven, this is my Son in whom I am well pleased. On the Mount of transfiguration, there was a voice from heaven, this is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased. Just like we are filled with His Spirit, He was filled with His Spirit only without measure meaning He has the Spirit Of God in full whereas we have a measure, or a portion. The bigger question in my mind which I find difficult to comprehend is how Jesus made it from birth through childhood, adulthood and was crucified without ever sinning. After all, he was human with the same temptations that we have.... how is it possible that even as a child or a teenaged person he never sinned?

Trinitarians believe in one God comprised of three entities or three persons. So they wouldn’t argue with you about Jesus being God.

Dont forget Jesus said we are all sons of God. I think the seed that God used to impregnate Mary was from the same dna that God used to make Adam. Adam was a perfect creature before sin before dna mutations. Remember Jesus taught us to pray "Our Father" . Jesus never authorized any writtings about himself after he left earth so we must judge all those writtings cautiously knowing that Jesus warned us that many woukd come in his name but are wolves.

Yeshua lived a sinless life and died for our sins so if we will listen to the words of God; which sinful man cannot do with out repentance in prayer and Faith in Yeshua, our redeemer. This was done so we might live again after death to give Glory to The Father through Yeshua the Christ. Obviously----Jesus is the, "SON," of his, "GOD and FATHER!" Honestly-----How difficult IS it, to SEE that? With respect.

Both God and Son of God because Jesus HAD BEEN the almighty God "He who sees me SEES HIM who sent me.". Being the "Son" of the almighty God means that Jesus DERIVES from the almighty God, He is not a "regular, additional" Son. Jesus DERIVES from God in that God GOT RID of his power so that He hasn't it any longer, He is like a normal man now: the Son of God. Since Jesus has no power this means that his miracles have been actually made by using the power of the Father e.g. "thank you for hearing me" (see the Lazarus' resurrection). In fact Jesus sits next to the POWER (of God) because has no OWN power at all. The almighty God thus dwells in the past "the world has not known you" and cannot be seen "no one has seen God at any time". The only way to "somehow" see God is to see the Son "He who has seen me has SEEN THE FATHER" who HAD BEEN the Father in a remote past. But - even when transcendent, away from this world - God is able to reach to us here with his words and actions. In other terms God is only VIRTUALLY here with His words and actions, but in reality there is NOBODY here. This is why Jesus says that God is like "a Spirit" (Jn. 4:23,24). The "Spirit of God" (aka Holy Spirit) is thus simply God who is a spirit, i.e. no "third person" exists! Only the POWER of God is actually present here, which is necessary for the God's actions to take place. Jesus sits next to that Power, not next to God (see the gospels). To recap, Jesus is DIFFERENT from God since He is like a normal man. Yet He is not DISTINCT from Him "I am in the Father and the Father in me" because Jesus HAD BEEN that almighty God. In other words They are not the same ONE God, but They are not "TWO distinct Gods" either. You can say that God is greater than one and less than two in number. Hence no trinity exists: as reiterated many times by Jesus (see the gospels) He is together with the FATHER ONLY. No one else, just 1. Father (who is a spirit) and 2. Son, very simple.

Jesus said in Revelation 21:8,”But the fearful and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whore mongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burns WITH FIRE AND BRIMSTONE, which is the second death.” Note that Brimstone is Sulfur and burns with a very strong odor of rotten eggs. The scriptures above prove when a person goes to hell they will constantly see hell, constantly smell hell, constantly feel the heat of hell, will constantly breath hell, will constantly hear the wailing and gnashing of teeth of others in hell, will constantly be aware of their own worms, they will have no rest day or night, there is no way out and it will continue for ever and ever, they can’t die because they are already dead. The following is how to not go there and it is a SIMPLE AND EASY thing to do: All of the book of Acts is what Jesus disciples said what we must to be SAVED - meaning not go to hell, which is repentance, water baptism in Jesus NAME, (NOT the titles Father, Son, and Holy Ghost) and being baptized with the Holy Ghost. Jesus said in Mark 16:16,"He that believes and is BAPTIZED shall be SAVED, but he that believes not shall be damned." At about that same time He said in Matthew 28:19,"Go therefore and teach all nations BAPTIZING them in the name (SINGULAR name and not name's) OF the Father, and OF the Son, and OF the Holy Ghost." Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are titles and not names. Jesus disciples never used those words when they baptized anyone in water, nor did they use those words in one sentence regarding any other topic. Every time they invoked Jesus NAME at baptism which is Acts 2:38, Acts 8:14-18, Acts 8:38, Acts 9:18, Acts 10:44-48, Acts 16:15, Acts 16:33, Acts 18:7, Acts 18:8, Acts 19:3-5, and Acts 22:16 (Paul's baptism). Jesus said in John 3:3-7,"Verily, verily I say unto you, Except a man BE BORN AGAIN, he can not see the kingdom of God. 5 Verily, verily I say unto, Except a man be born of water AND of the Spirit, he can not enter into the kingdom of heaven. 7 Marvel not that I say unto you, YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN." Being born of water is being baptized in water which is for the REMISSION OF SINS - meaning the INITIAL remission of sins and not the confessing of sins later addressed in 1 John 1:9. Being born of the Spirit is being baptized with the Holy Ghost. What being baptized with the Holy Ghost means is addressed in Mark 16:17 (Jesus speaking), Acts 2:3-4, (Pentecost), Acts 8:17, Acts 9:18, Acts 10:44-48, and Acts 19:3-5 - which is when the Spirit of Christ initially dwells in a person. Nowhere in Scripture does it say it happens any other way than that way. There is not one Scripture that says a person receives the Holy Ghost just because they are a believer. Acts 19:1-5 is a good example. Paul said in Romans 8:9-11,”But you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if so be that the spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, HE IS NONE OF HIS." Numbers 23:19, ”God is not a man that he should lie, neither the son of man, that he should repent, has he said and shall he not do it? And shall he not make it good?” Malachi 3:6,”For I am the Lord, I change not...” Hebrews 13:8,”Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” That means there is no reason to think that Jesus will make an exception and save someone that has not been baptized in water in Jesus NAME, and has not been baptized with the Holy Ghost. Some say the thief on the cross next to Jesus was not baptized yet Jesus told him he would be in paradise with him that day. Jesus had not given the COMMANDMENT to be baptized in HIS NAME until after he had risen from the dead and before he ascended into heaven. The thief on the cross could not have been baptized because he did not know about it. If you do what Jesus said above in Mark 16:16, Matthew 28:19, and John 3:3-7, you will be making SURE your name is Written In Lamb's Book Of Life. Those who pervert the word of God have the blackest darkness reserved for them, Dr. Bernard needs to publicly confess to this end repent of it and be honest about his Modalism position in spite of Achad being the Hebrew word used in the Shema, if he chooses to hold a position opposing Scripture he needs to do so honestly or he is guilty of perverting God's word and has the heaviest of God's wrath abiding on him.

Jesus is the son of God and he is also God. He is distinct from God the Father in form, but he is also equal with him because he is of the same substance as the Father. 1 Corinthians 15:24-29 demonstrates that Jesus Christ is distinct from the Father, yet still equal. He is only subordinate to his father in rank or form. Jesus Christ will be eternally distinct from the Father because of his glorified spiritual body that he has in common with us humans. But he will also be eternally equal with his father because of his divine conception.

Yes Jesus could be a god but he is not the Lord Almighty God the Father. with regard to Thomas saying My Lord and my God is because he was in awed to his teacher that he considered him as his lord and his god. But if only Thomas can be asked: who is your God, The Father Almighty or Jesus the Son of God. It would be foolishness for Thomas to say Jesus is his God and not the Father.

I don't doubt that Jesus is God. In fact Jesus himself said that the name he has was God's own name and he gave it to him. 2Cor 5:19 clearly says God was in Christ. I need some clarification here. Are you saying that the flesh that Mary gave birth to was just an empty body and God entered that body or that flesh like any human born had the spirit of the person inside that flesh and God also lived in that flesh just as He lives inside of us when we believe in Jesus?
