@@FiremanSam60 John Lydon orchestrated the punk movement which gave disaffected youth a voice read his lyrics back in 76 “ tourism is money “wonder how the poor black man is doing in Compton “ the man was way ahead of his time when everyone else is writing love songs, he’s a true working class hero what have you done?
@@FiremanSam60 I've never heard of you before in my life in fact you are irrelevant in the scheme of things but John Lydon? Yes I've heard of John just like thousands all over the world that's the difference. Lydon= Icon You= nobody
I’m so happy to see he hasn’t gotten complacent, he still has the same energy. And to the people commenting on his weight, he’s said himself he has a thyroid problem.
No he ain’t he’s just got lazy living of the past and eating loads of pies thinking of the past and trying to be physiological. And nobody’s is listening anymore.
@@stephaniejaniczekssmugglerscan The fuck are you getting pissy for? You can obviously see the problem seeing as you told him to take care of himself, why is it bad when other people point it out?
After my own struggles with weight, having been heavy and painfully thin, medication can have such a big effect on our weight especially as we age and we don't often let people in the public eye age or have a weight change.
He’s always been a personal inspiration for me. I grew up during the whole Nirvana/teenage suicide pop-culture of death nonsense in the early to mid-’90s. And Lydon definitely prevented me from falling into that corny, silly trend of self-pity and self-destruction. Thanks to him, I really hated that whole pre-fabbed celebratory culture of drugs and depression that so many of my friends fell for. It actually killed a few of them, sadly. Being easily impressionable is inescapable when you are young. You’re going to fall for something, surely. But thankfully there are good fellas like Lydon to call bullshit. He’s one of a kind, an all-around authentic fella. Not many like him. God bless you, John.
He's a flip-flopper though. One interview he says he's for something. The next he's against it. And he expects you to agree with him. LOL. He always talks like he's so sincere, yet all it takes is to watch a few more of his interviews to see that he's a big fat liar.
@@chocomanger6873 way out of order you obviously know nothing about what you’re talking about, and manifest all the characteristics of a sexual deviant destined to spend a majority of your existence in a state institution at my expense
Mentioned it once on a prerecorded BBC radio show knowing that part would never air , obviously never mentioned it again when he was on any live program .
@@sirjellybeans1st19 Jerry Sadowitz mentioned Savile about 5 years later, the difference is he mentioned it to a few hundred people, whereas Lydon only mentioned it to about 3.

Good to see Kurt Loder and John Lydon getting on well again, some of the best interviews on MTV during the 1988-92 era were with Kurt with John on. A Brilliant era, (perhaps that because I was in high school) 😂 however, we still had rock music (in what ever genre you liked) and it still actually meant something, especially with most bands of the “alternative” genre trying to appropriate change for the better on this apparently damned to fail planet. I thought every band from the Beatles to the Beastie Boys kinda spelled out the same message, at different volumes, with different tempos, from different neighborhoods and used different slang perhaps, but the message was all the same, and in learning that, you learn more about other people. Unfortunately, it looks like only a few of us meant it.
Shock of my life, this man is my all time hero, politically regarding this country, he's been correct with everything he's said !!. God bless you John, hope we meet some day, Mike Evans, Llanelli, Wales.
I’d be interested to see what would happen if Johnny Rotten would tour with The Prodigy now that Keith has passed. I know it’s only been a couple hours, but watching the old videos, I can’t help but be reminded of Rotten when I see Flint.,,
That is a great thought as he loved Keith. Maybe a collaboration Track like he did with Leftfield. Keith also acknowledged that John was a major influence and they were good friends. I like your thinking
no, he's morbidly obese. That is not an effect of aging. He's a hypocrite if he's going to criticize drug use and continue the lifestyle that he is pursuing.
I love this man! John you're absolutely lovely! I never ever saw such REAL, INTELLIGENT, KIND & A NO BULLSHIT-TAKER, HONEST, TALENTED Guy in the music industry ever! This man is straight forward in the face, he hates stupidity just like me.he cares about other's when they are real too.his lovely wife made a good choice marrying him! His music and voice are unique and f***g awesome! Lovd you John!
@@charlie-girl72 Oh, I think he's extremely entertaining and engaging, and I sometimes really like listening to his music as well. It's just that he's not honest. I guess because I've been so interested in the guy, that I've watched a shit-load of his interviews, and he's constantly flip-flopping on issues. He just speaks with such conviction that you want to believe him. He would make a dangerous politician. He speaks with such conviction, yet he'll speak with equal conviction saying the complete opposite in another interview. Just take a notepad and spend a day watching interviews with the guy. Jot down what he's for and against, and you'll see for yourself.
@@chocomanger6873 don't know tho...I think we all can change on meanings.he was always against politics I did too..well since Obama he had some hope.later he probably saw that even Obama is a liar and just a f**ked up politician like they all are, I've had it too that sometimes some pop up and you hope it's better this time. Cause in the end we are dependent on all those horrible brings who say they have the right to tell US WHAT TO DO OR NOT. I think youre meaning is very over the top but that's me
@@charlie-girl72 Well, he's full of himself, going on about how righteous his beliefs are, then the next interview he says the opposite. He's a victim of his generation. He's in a completely different world than us. He learnt at a young age that acting the way he does is rewarding, and he keeps it up to this day. He hasn't grown a bit as a human.
Also his wife has alzheimer‘s and there is someone with cancer in his family; some people deal with stuff like that by eating, which can actually turn into an addiction of sorts. And/Or as people pointed out: steroids.
2 thoughts. It's so easy to lose weight... Just decide to do it & it'll happen. Also, the message of loneliness is so true. It is one of the worst feelings. It's horrible. I also experienced it one summer in the 80s. A major life lesson. Johnny rotten get lean again, it's easy peezie.
He knew all about Jimmy Saville when everyone thought he was a saint! He said about One Direction “The thing with those boys is, they can really sing. Fair play to them. I’m never going to put another artist down. Anyone who wants to make music is all right by me.” Then he wears a t shirt saying “ I hate Pink Floyd” Really?
*Holy cholesterol, Batman!* The last time I saw him was when he was plugging his book in 1994. Jesus Christ. It looks like he ATE his book, then rolled down to Barnes & Noble and ate every book in stock, then waddled into the restaurant in Barnes & Noble and ate anything and everything that wasn't bolted down, including every employee.
Well close your eyes and listen.you will recognise his voice and opinions.that is all that matters.you have just made the most ridiculous comment on this video😂well done!
