@@dewman7477 Shut up, Moron. Jokic was definitely the best player in the whole regular season. BLM's racist agenda got mixed up in the NBA and that's why they hurt Nikola Jokic's third consecutive MVP.
Can we wait until the man hangs up his jersey before we rank him anywhere? Omg the dude had a playoff run to remember. That's for sure He delivered Denver their first world title. I've lived here for most of my life here in Denver for 21 years and I never thought the nuggets would win a title and they've had some Hall of Fame caliber. Great players here that have ran through here. Let the man write his own history before we start ranking him. I'm not disrespecting the Joker at all but you see how many people seem to hate LeBron James you know why because they ranked him literally the second greatest player ever and some people will call the greatest player ever before. The dude is even finished. Hanging it up the unrealistic expectations that they put on the man
I hate LeBron for other reasons. Taking his talents to South Beach and making everything about him. It's mostly his ego and constantly making the narrative about him. Not to mention the blatant lies. "I don't flop. Every team I'm on doesn't teach flopping or encourage it", meanwhile he's flopping all over the place. There are plenty of reasons to not like LeBron. There's a guy at work that doesn't even watch the NBA and doesn't like LeBron for these reasons. I'm in the same boat here, he's still far too young to be able to call or rank him ANYTHING right now. He's a great player RIGHT NOW. Longevity and consistency is makes a truly all-time player. People need to stop this stuff, it's such a stupid conversation given his position in his career.
I hate to say it but there's an obvious narrative being pushed by mainstream sports media. I like Jokic a lot but top 20 already? He's definitely creeping up the ladder but pump the breaks Legs.
Fly guy, I was just getting ready to write the same thing. The Champaign hasn't even dried out of his jersey and the comparisons begin. What is the difference where any of these guys rank? They are, or were, all great BB players, have won championships, MVP's and all have set records. Yet the little people who call themselves, "the experts" insist on always bringing the topic up. Does it really make any difference if LBJ or Jorden were better than the other? Or Duncan or Magic? Or now Jokic! This meaningless comparison only demeans them and takes away the amazing contributions they have made to the sport. They are all great and they are also so much fun to watch. What is wrong with people who find it necessary to do this? Does it make them feel bigger than they are?
I feel that but sometimes they are just making a projection based off play I don’t quite see what’s wrong with that because jokic game is something we’ve never really seen before. His offensive game is borderline perfect. His potential to be great is massive and it could be seen as a huge compliment to speak so highly of somebody that hasn’t won nearly as much as everybody else in the top 20. But I agree to an extent many journalist and media heads prop a player up to tear them down. Unfortunately that’s how it works in sport.
Best peak performance i have seen in a playoff run.if he wants to be top of the heap its there for the taking he just needs to keep going and stay healthy. No one in the history of basketball has the complete package like him. Not even mj who was not nearly as great passer and was not a great 3 point shooter
@@trelllmaoyessir I specifically added him because Steph is considered one of the best shooters in the history of the game, yet a 7ft Center shoots at a higher clip. Steph wins based on 3s though
Duncan is one of the best defenders in nba history and rebounders too and shot blocker. Duncan scores a good amount too. Duncan is certainly greater than Jokic
They have 6 of their 7 key players under contract for the next two years and they draft well. Wouldnt be surprised to see them win some more titles this decade
There’s so much nuance you have to consider in discussions like this. Based on game I honestly don’t see how he can’t already be top 20 ,sometimes we over value rings. If the player was instrumental to a team success then fine use it but a lot of players in the top 20 with rings barring mj and lebron won and they weren’t always the best player in that series . What am saying Steph has 4 rings and one finals mvp ,and I don’t want to diminish Steph role in all of golden states rings but the one he won last year you could see he was the one who willed golden state to the title. That validated his greatness, unfairly may I add,Steph was the first unanimous MVP,but I digress. I can’t see a world though where jokic won’t be able to put up these numbers and not be dominant. I can go off what I believe with my eyes and confidently say when it’s all done he maybe the greatest to touch a basketball or worse top 10.Skill wise he has all your favorites beat,I just think it’s because jokic isn’t super athletic and “boring” why many people won’t be able to grasp that he maybe the best the game has ever seen.
2:30 . Lady does not understand what is about. Majority USA NBA fans and viewers find hard to understand that some international stars like Jokic, Doncic and Giannis want to play at FIBA World Cup 2023 for their countries, that will begin at the end of August 2023. They are ambassadors of basketball in their countries and beside NBA this is one of the best platform competitions to promote basketball worldwide. So that puts Jokic desire to go home ASAP in much different perspective, because his offseason vacation has very small window
To my eyes, Jokic: -is the best passer of all time -has the highest basketball IQ of all time -is the most efficient player of all time -has the best touch of all time -is the greatest offensive player of all time -is the best player of all time
I think Jokic is somewhere from 25-30. He keeps accumulating counting stats, and he will definitely be top 20, maybe even top 15 by the end of his career.
There’s only 11 players with 2 MVP’s & 1 Ring/FMVP. He’s absolutely in the top 20. Edit: 1st player to lead all players in pts/reb/assists. 30-14-10 on 55-46-82. Went 16-4 Beat Durant/Booker, Bron/AD, Butler/Bam (who beat Bucks & Celts)
I don't think Jokic will play after his contract is up. I think he allready made up his mind and will move back home. He will have enough money to secure his families future, he does not care about being the best in the world.
If you ask American players who plays in Europe or Asia what is on your mind after they finish season they all say “Looking forward to go home to my family “
@@manz7860 I'm not a kid, first of all, but I've been an NBA fan since I was a kid. My original statement didn't say Jokic is the _greatest_ basketball player to ever live, I said "Jokic is the best" to ever live. There's a difference.
My Top 15: 1. Michael Jordan 2. LeBron James 3. Shaquille O' Neal 4. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 5. Hakeem Olajuwon 6. Larry Bird 7. Stephen Curry 8. Tim Duncan 9-T. Kobe Bryant 9-T. Nikola Jokic 10-T. Magic Johnson 10-T. Giannis Antetokounmpo 11. Bill Russell 12. Wilt Chamberlain 13. Kevin Durant 14. David Robinson 15. Bill Walton
@@Lukey111 -one of the greatest big man passers of all time, probably the best passer out of the post before Jokic. -underrated talk about being one of the best rim protectors and post defenders of all time -long history of data that shows when Bill Walton defended All-Star Centers their performance suffers vs expected, -1.6pts/36 vs Walton and -4.1% true shooting vs Walton. One example would be Moses Malone, going from shooting 56% true shooting vs league to 41% true shooting vs Walton on average. -During his Portland days, when Walton was the only rotation player missing their DRTG is 102.9, with Walton and a full rotation it significantly improves to 95.6. That jump goes from the worst defense in the league at the time to the best. -Without Walton on Portland, they were equivalent to a 37-win team, with him they had a 64-win pace due to their +8.5 point differential. Back when winning 65 games in a season was rare.
@@PlanetOfTheApes999 Here’s the reasons why I had Wilt and Bill lower on the list. -You can’t take their stats and achievements face value, they come with a lot of context. -The pace back then was significantly faster, 130-120 possessions/game, games these days barely reach over 100, and pre-2020 to it would hover only around 90+ possessions/game. They had on average 30 more chances to rack up stats vs today’s stars. -In Wilt’s 50PPG season, he scored 40% of his team’s points. In comparison Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant scored about 43% on average of their team’s points during their best scoring seasons. -Wilt would also play the entire game, more chances to increase stats. -If you were to look at Wilt’s points/75 possessions in his 1962 season, he’d be at 28.7PPG. That number would only rank 7th in the 2020-21 season. -If we were to take Wilt’s stats face value, he’d be undisputedly be the best player of all time no debate, which just isn’t the case. -They are still all time greats but you must adjust their stats inflation in order to properly rank them.
It might be crazy to some people, but I would argue he’s already ahead of Russell and Chamberlain considering the competition they faced and the statistical dominance of Jokic. He needs more rings to pass Kareem Shaq and Hakeem all time though, even if he’s already a more rounded offensive player than any of those guys.
CURRY IS THE GREATEST SHOOTER WE EVER SEEN!! HE HANDLES & SHOOTS FROM ANYWHERE IN ANY MANNER!! & THIS NOT BOUT HIS FANS!! IZ THE LIST OF 25 PLAYERS ALL-TIME TO ME!! HE GOTTA BE THERE!! & HE HAD TO BREAK REGGIE MILLER RECORD!! SO THAT IS WHY HE THERE!! 🙄👊✌
Nah he is already top 20 all time . Next year with another regular season MVP another championship and finals MPV and breaking records in the post season with triple dobles . That would put him about top 15 .
Yeah that’s fine. I got him behind Giannis & KG, ahead of Scottie & Kawhi. For people to say top 15, that was ludicrous. Honestly that take had an ugly stink to it if you catch my drift…
Jokic is a whole lot of b-ball away from Top 20. NBA just had a 75 greatest players event. You gotta remove 56 of those players to put Jokic in the Top 20. Ask this question again in at least 5 more seasons
Can easily remove 56 players. 2x MVP 1 x Championship. Anybody without an MVP cannot rank ahead of him. Anybody without a championship cannot rank ahead of him.
Yes He plays like every European Center always played so He is surly in top of 20000. Common You will soon say that Kim is best President ever but before was surly worse and most brutal killer ever.
People often put guys like Charles Barkley, Dirk Nowitski, Karl Malone, and Kevin Garnett in the top 20. What have those guys accomplished during their primes that Jokic hasn’t already accomplished in the last few years? I’d argue that Jokic already has a higher peak than them
@@princedejour2686 Lol. No they weren't. Jokic is obviously better than all of them thats why he has the stats to prove them. Jokic has 3 seasons in the top 15 of PER. How many you think the others have combined in the top 50 ? The answer is 0.
