I have type 2 diabetes and am on a low carb diet and no longer use insulin to control glucose levels. When my ketone levels are mildly elevated my glucose levels are better controlled. It would be helpful to know my ketone levels continuously. This would help me adjust my food intake before glucose levels rise thus allowing more control . I was looking forward to the "libre 4". After hearing this I am very disappointed because while helping type 1 diabetics avoid keto acidosis, this display of only high ketone will not help the millions of T2 diabetics and unnecessarily so as I see it. I have almost cured my diabetes but for the fine tuning of my diet and medicine like Mounjaro . What a shame!

Nice hardware. Terrible software. Get your update process in order Abbott. Still stuck on iOS 16 because of freestyle Libre app not updating. So Abbott can not anticipate a new IOS update or match their update calendar. Imagine that. For almost a year now! Software is your main user experience now, hardware is secondary. Software is unstable and simply not updating. It is just shameful.

As a type 2 on an insulin pump AND on farxiga, I think I may benefit from a sensor like that also at least more than the average person living with type 2. When it's available, I hope insurance does not give me a hard time about it.

great progress but too bad it would only provide ketone info when levels are high. many of us would like to know what our ketone levels are 24/7 just like our sugar levels. hopefully it will evolve into this and reach a wider market. thanks for the interview.

I neglected to say that the Libre 3 cgm was instrumental in my journey so far. I think that the "libre 4" could help me get to even better control.

Interesting. I can feel/ smell my own ketones muchblike a musky perfume. Yes ketones before the higher bgs

Yes, this is very important and a tremendous step in the right direction. My maternal grandfather tested his ketones with urine strips. His daughter, my mom was always diligent in her diabetes care failed to have any on hand, when she went into DKA due to a stomach flu; and, I had to rush her to the ER. She was in a coma for two days.

Yes, testing for keytones is vital. Especially when using an insulin pump but still, everyone (even those not on a pump) should test for keytones at least once a week. Blood is so much more reliable. People who use urine test strips always ask us, with a photo, what the "guessed" result is🙈🙈

Test mine when I need too especially as I'm on a pump it is vital to do this to prevent any serious problems

This feels unnecessary in my own personal experience of the type one diabetic. Hence I had DKA in a blood sugar of 1086 when I was diagnosed at 15. On top of that, the solution to make ketones go down is to get blood sugar down. So insulin. Not sure about this
