I've had so many issues with these Guardian 4 sensors, that I'm looking at switching to Tandem. If Medtronic Comes out with the Simplera for the 780 before I make the switch I will give them a second chance, but honestly with how bad the tech support has been with these Guardian 4 sensors, I'm not holding out hope.
They're going to have a hard time winning over pumpers until they add the ability to calibrate. Sometimes CGMs are inaccurate and need a little help. It's a fatal flaw for me.
I will not be switching to a tube, I feel the Omnipod is simpler. There are way to many features on this pump. All I do is type in my carbs on my Omnipod and push go and also all I have to do is push "use sensor " to put in the bloodsugar reading, so technically I don't have to enter in my bg. I'm not seeing this as something to run to 🤷🏾♀️
Just found out this morning that the sensor won't be replaced just because you are bleeding. No sensor error=no replacement. I was disturbed by this and didn't ask some relevant questions like how to deal with the bleeding without removing the sensor? It will eventually clot-right?...How does this affect the sensor reading? Also, not impressed with how it "works" with the Tandem pump.
The new policy is utter bs. I am personally someone whose skin has a hard time trying to grip onto the adhesive, even with products such as over patches, skin tac, etc. I had often sensors falling off, especially at times where I was sweating. Now, I either can’t get all of the replacements I need to be able to use the cgm, or I have to lie to technical support about why it fell off 🫤. I get wanting to make your business have bigger profits, but it should not be at the expense of your customers life-saving equipment.
Omni pod five isn’t available in Australia yet but I’m hoping that the iPhone app will be usable for blind people who use VoiceOver as currently their device is completely in accessible to people with Vision impairments.
You do realize Android is the most used phone but everyone does apple 1st....stupid but then again apple is easier to break into in is known. As a type 1 32 years I am so over this stuff not allowed to us Android users.
This new policy sucks. Of course there should not be "unlimited" sensors, but Dexcom should replace them at the same rate at which they fall off. I understand if people are abusing it and getting nonstop free sensors, that should be stopped, you should require account login when requesting product support and it should be easy to verify if it's being abused. Insurance companies expect the product to last 10 days, and only provide payment for that many devices, so either Dexcom needs to provide replacements if they fall short of that, or insurance needs to pay more.
I would be interested in it, but I’m wondering is the current pump that they sell upgradable does it have a second cylinder area where you can actually update the software and then use it as a buy hormonal pump or do you have to buy a whole new pump after it’s been approved?
That‘s such a cool find. I literally ran to the App Store to download the app on my iPhone 13 mini and subscribed to be able to get my readings in CarPlay. Gonna test it tomorrow. Thanks for your work guys! Greetings from Germany!
Wow! Excellent work! I would love something like this on Android/Android based watches. I think a lot of Diabetics feel like they are forces to switch to apple because we have very little in the way of compatible apps on Android, and the support for our devices on Android from the parent companies like Dexcom is also very hit or miss. There are a LOT of Android phones that can not connect to Dexcom at all.
