The hardest part in any controller development cycle is the software in the CPU. KO copying, stealing or simply contracting with someone else that has already been doing this for a good while is highly probable!
Are you really surprised that KO wouldn't answer this question? They HATE exposure and will never volunteer information if they can hide something! Transparency and honesty are words that they don't know and can't EVER tolerate!
You got me wanting an ebmx and I already got the nano from ko. Be nice if this thing wasn’t working just fine right now and the app and installation such a breeze.. I would immediately go for the one I could run a camping stove off of while riding at 25kw down a dirt track that only needs 11.
There isn't a "big deal" other than the fact that KO lies about it and many times over claims they do their own development! The thing is, KO Moto IS Far Driver and KO lies about it! They turned something so easy to confirm into a shit show by lying about it. Just be honest and transparent and they NEVER EVER ARE! This is such a simple thing. No one would fault them for using Far Driver development! But they have lied and lied and lied about it! It's just stupid! Anyway, all I did was expose one more KO Moto lie!
Ill run some testing tonight to see if I can get the KO moto app to see my 96530, it seems itd be a cleaner alternative to the fardriver app as long as all of the settings are in there.
You will need a USB to FTDI adapter so you can plug into the BT connector on your controller. The BT modules have some small changes in them that stop the KO app from recognizing the FD BT module. I think with a bit of bluino terminal connection and comparison that whatever is different can be discovered and then the KO app will recognize the FD bluetooth module as its own.
@@de-bodgery I think I have both BLE and old school bluetooth(non-le) FTDIs at home. I appreciate the backend info on this so we can further decipher the comms protocols. Do you happen to have a link to the fb post? Ultimate goal would be to sniff the commands out via arduino and log them, then create a bluetooth app from scratch, similar to VBMS.
@@loveandwar828 ya mines doing fine for what power I need 10kw or 12kw street riding I guess I’ll use it till it goes lol I only got 500 in it lol after selling stock controller
So your saying in the video that K.O. is another knock off product. For me, unless there is a clear case of patent violation, I have to honestly ask why I should care. As far as honesty, I get your point, and in any case, the product needs to perform as advertised. The video puts some doubt on that, but honestly, few people would think to try running the claimed 45kw peak that is claimed for the Factory spec. Controller. Most do not exceed 15kw, which is a lot. Said my peace. Thanks for listening.
This is a case of just being transparent and honest and KO Moto is rarely either of those! They have claimed that they are a fully independent development from day one. It says so on their web site! And yet, in the KO support forums, Far Driver is brought up all the time. There's many public references to KO/Far Driver over and over again. The same glitches in KO exist in FD controllers, etc. Despite all of this, KO still claims they totally independent of any other source developed their own controllers. The evidence is mounting that this is another KO lie! So that's why it matters...JUST BE HONEST KO!!! No one really cares that they didn't develop their own software, jsut that they lie about it!!! *** Did you watch my KO Pro tear down videos? I was quite mild about "casting doubt" in this video! Go watch those ones! If you own a KO controller, it's pretty terrible! Quite a lot of people try to run these controllers at their advertised maximums. I know of several people that race and they are always pushing the maximum limits they can achieve. Some of them use KO products. They should be able to utilize the specifications that KO advertises! If they can't, then KO is misleading their customers and this isn't an "if", it's a fact!
Do the point a fan at the controller when on dyno ? Because you got peeps like electric is better racing these with giant tires and not mentioning overheating. Running 11kw races he says.
The X-9000 didn't have a fan on it, but the Pro did and it still over heated despite maxing out at 600 phase amps and NOT 800 amps like is advertised. This was pretty damning for the Pro!!! BTW, 11kw is just 134 battery amps at 82v. The advertised specs for the Pro are 400 battery amps. So this is LESS than 50% of the controllers supposed capabilities! Of course it doesn't get warm.
