Boy, I did not believe librium could do anything for the hell I was going through. A while back in a little town in Arizona Gila County, I was in an edtox center after I got out of the hospital with librium. The day staff would not let me take any of the medications. Long story short come midnight, I was very close to having a seizure. Guys, I wanted to die. It was a living nightmare. I thank God that a very young lady who was also a nurse realized what these older men during the day shif I had done keeping the librium and not providing me with any dosage. She was furious when she found me shaking and drowning in my own vomit. She administered only 2 25mg of ibrium, and in less than five minutes, I felt so much relieved. I cried and thanked her for saving me
Started this pill today, I hate it. Basically bad tremors and nausea. At first I just felt drunk, then I felt like I was going to die. Not fun. I’m just glad I’m sober again, alcohol withdrawal is completely horrendous. Hope you’re well too if you are an alcoholic or know someone who is.
Librium only works if you can keep it down during my alcohol detox they kept giving me Librium but I kept on puking it back up. Thank God those days are behind me now alcohol insidious and disgusting.
i always say understanding the brain chemistry and the pharmacology of both alcohol and in particular benzodiazepines in this case is crucial because then you get why they help. Neurotransmitter GABA etc

Very sad that people suffering from alcohol addiction are given this to help but end up going through worse withdrawal for not taking there next pill. This med should be given and ween off in a controlled environment. Not sending someone home with a script. Then back to emergency room because someone abused there meds. Just stay sober.
Having gone through alcohol withdrawals myself, they usually give you a small script that you only use for 4 or 5 days and you're not allowed to refill. 4-5 days of daily benzodiazepine usage is not enough to develop a physical addiction. They use librium just to get you through the worst symptoms of alcohol withdrawal which are the first 5 or so days. Also, librium stays in the body for a long time so the effects don't wear off for a while. It saved my life when I was detoxing back in early January. Sure it might not work for some people but if you truly want to quit it is a godsend.
@@jclicht6149I was just prescribed 30 10mg pills and was told to take 1-2 a day. I go get my script filled after work. I finally just told my doctor who I been seeing for the past 5 years that I just can’t do another raw withdrawal from alcohol. I’ve battled with it so much I just handle another withdrawal episode and I need help. One time I couldn’t sleep for almost 3 days. Last night I “slept” like 1 hour before work. I really hope these pills help and I can walk away from alcohol forever
