Issue is lot of “hardcore” gamers have this mindset they don’t like or want casual players in the game but they don’t understand having high numbers interested in a game matters.
It really does. If a game can’t get enough player support then the game shuts down. Devs and the company will stop making content, see the game as a failure feeling less likely to try make another game like it.
@@psyjinx "Already know everything about the game you just started playing and expect to get flamed by people who have been playing this game for years or kick rocks" lmao a terrible take from a terrible "git gud" spamming meanie You seriously felt like you were on to something typing that, right? If you want to reroll, reroll at the start of a new tier. You get a stronghold research to lower materials needed to upgrade gear for the previous tier.
That's exactly what I did. I first started playing Paladin, but I got to the Tytalos Guardian Raid and it sucked trying to do that boss with a group. I decided to reroll as a Gunlancer so I could just solo it. It's also nice to be able to reliably meet Stagger checks since Red Gunlancer does such crazy high Stagger damage.
@@adriansimmons814 Nope. I began by having a Paladin as my main. I got to tier 2 and was tired of not being able to solo Guardian Raids, so I changed to Gunlancer. Now my Gunlancer has reached Tier 3 today.

the pvp is actually really fun to do, it's jarring to join the first match cause you will get clapped but it's really rewarding when you start to get used to it.
Too bad there's no actual competitive ladder like wow where you meet people on the same or higher rating. Just random every game which is sad cause the pvp is like you said, really fun!
@@bl4nk451 they're just waiting for things to settle down before the first ranked season. you know how seasons work in mobas, competitive shooters etc it's the same way in lost ark, you get pretty neat rewards from it too
The pvp is incredibly boring imo, its just which team is full of monks and then you watch yourself just get stunned to death, did it once for the weekly quest then never touched it again.
I started playing this game when it launched in the US a month ago, I'm only level 48 right now. I kind of love how much there is to do when I'm able to play (which is extremely limited). I don't feel pressure to pay to win because even the low level end game stuff seems like it's really solid entertainment.
Beating alaric's sanctuary with a competent 8 man team of randoms last night was extremely rewarding, most of us went in blind, finished it in a little over an hour. Cooperative stategy making between 8 total randoms.
I agree so much. I originally wanted to go with a group who knew what they were doing just to get the rewards out of the way, but I waited until some of my friends reached Feitan and we used find party to find others who also wanted to go in blind. After 2-3 hours we figured out all the mechanics on our own and it felt so good.
@@ProdigaliNKGaming LMAO the story is the most boring and generic shit you can imagine. I enjoy the endgame but dont try to sell the game based on the story...
A casual would probly appreciate seeing all the other classes animations rather than having visual clarity so it's fine as it. And it's only really an issue in a few areas that don't represent 99% of the game.
The weird thing about LA is pre-50 is super easy, presumably so paladins and bards can do it solo, but that’s makes dps feel overtuned until endgame. It was super nice to get to endgame and finally have monster hordes and boss heathbars worthy of the damage you can put out.
I don’t usually do the pvp side of most mmos, but I have been enjoying lost ark’s pvp. It’s quick and everyone is on a level playing field as far as stats go.
Gets boring very fast tho imo. Every class has their "combos" and its all about dodging their cc and landing your to combo. And its not really a even playing field if you compare Deathblade to like Scrapper or something
Gets very old with no progression or open world PvP. Which is a huge reason the game is hemorrhaging players and not going to last very long with most of the end game being reserved for wallet warriors.
@@garpten7772 Bro what lol 1. it has open world pvp on islands and GVG, 2. its holding most its players 3. youre going to have to spend 70k USD + to even get base t3 gear from t1

The most toxic thing with hardcore gamers mainly in mmo and rpgs. They think they know it all. So when they meet a new player they treat them like shit. Like oh you don't know haha I'm better. And I'm always right. They do this in PoE, WoW, daiblo 3.. it's bad. People quite playing. The company loses money. But the HC guys are happy I guess.
I swear I hate seeing when a newer player asks questions in the area chart and people are toxic, like do you want to drive off the player base and make the game obsolete?
It's not really about the game being boring, it's more like the very weird characters in the little less weird world, with mostly stupid/repetitive dialogue and much more of said dialogue, than combat. Separating the party for story fights doesn't help either. To put it simply, people who mainly enjoy blowing up shit do get a lot more of that past 30, and they get used to the unusual (for western audience) details.
20:23 bro go to option gameplay and set it only to show foe then it only show your skills affect and the boss first things always to do is go messing up with options see whats what and there is so many option dat there isn't there by default you have to go check them or uncheck them for example you need to see their attacks in pvp so you have make it back to default and set it to all players foe by yeah totally worth doing it it's 10 sec but help you a ton
No, this game isn't worth grinding towards end game. The gameplay for the game is good by itself, it's really fun, but the systems in the game and everything else are just incredibly garbage. Shit is like BDO but not as bad because it has worthwhile PvP and PvE content, but otherwise another Korean MMO that hinders progression to be sped up behind a paywall.
@@imreallynothappy Yeah, I agree, saying it was “just” another Korean MMO was stupid. However, that doesn’t mean that it’s worth my time to grind. Especially when it takes months of grinding to do it the proper way. If you just wanted to do simple PvP it would not be that bad, but all the extra currency stuff, the Stronghold, the item level restrictions higher on, etc. I think it’s fun. These systems still exist though, which end up ruining it. It’s better than other Korean MMOs but just one of those games where you have to be bored of everything other game in existence to play.
@@shockpoo “Not p2w”. Please. We don’t even have to go through this. If they can pay with real money to advance their gear and progression, it’s pay to win. BDO clearly was famous in Korea years ago or they would not have had the money to bring it over to the west.
Wrote this for Planetside 2 forums, after quitting Lost Ark. While I'm still taking a PS2 break or somewhat gaming break overall. I still tried Lost Ark. Now quit it. Had 8 lvl 50's. & As a Planetside general on vacation, of course I stirred the pot. Example; this 1st minute segment of Asmons video, my forum post got mentioned here: * had link posted to angriest forum asmon feedback LA p2w thread (500+ replies vid) * That's not the point of this thread & that video is old now. The P2W debate is outddated too, over that debate. Still glad PS2 isn't p2w. The point is simply to say that Lost Ark has only 1 month of pvp progression. Meaning all the pvp'ers are going to quit soon & have nothing to play. Fantasy mmorpg wise. Most won't return to WoW. Most won't return to GW2. & Final Fantasy has bad pvp. So there's nothing for mmorpg pvp'ers to play. Maybe nothing for 1 to 2 years, till Ashes of Creation. Then with BF 2042 trashed, there's nothing for fps'ers to play either, besides Warzone for the millionth time. If the fps'er even likes BR games. Or has space to install such a large game file, for Warzone. Never got into it. Lost Ark has worst pvp progression, zero. Worst than a Halo Infinite battle pass. 8 skills only. Not enough skill customization, not enough skills overall, & no pvp maps worth a damn. : ) Later it's getting some updates to these, tho not enough. As even if they add new dungeons / pvp maps / or new classes, they still don't have enough skills for the original classes. Now today, I made a feedback post about how the pvp isn't up to par & only has 1 month worth of content. That forum account got banned for 1 year. Such weird mods working for Amazon. So I made a post about how I got 1 year banned for saying pvp is limited. This morning. Anyhow another reason to quit Lost Ark. 1 of many. Limited pvp experience, p2w whales, now stingy forum mods. I mean the take away of all this is the usual. Just keep promoting PS2, hope for the best. & Sponsor some popular YT channels, these next 2 years. PS2 really need a popular comedy channel, someone who plays with friends. Who usually attains like 1 mill views per video. Plus maybe add some more quests, so that some rpg players find that amusing. I don't know. Tho I do know their isn't anything for pvp'ers to play, & ye we know the state of fps new games as well. Heck I'm sure even a ton of people quit Halo Infinite, these past 2 months. Obviously its still hard to market PS2, since its a 2011 game, tho I guess this thread is just a healthy reminder. That their isn't going to be much going on these next 2 years. & lots of gamer's overall, be it rpg or fps, simply aren't returning to other games, & may be playing nothing at all.
20:30 Asmon talking about turning off the effects xD it's one of the first options they have when you create a character for the first time "Less effects" "All the effects"
Berserker? Most powerful class? No. Easiest to do assloads of damage? Yes. Yea, Abys is far harder than Guardian and Chaos... I absolutely love it all though, except the two teams I had yesterday that refused to listen to what I was saying (how to do the fight) and then got mad at me because I was annoyed with them being trash.
Lets all take a step back and realize why this game is good, 1 its low quality graphics wise allowing many people to be able to play it, its technically free to play even tho its not, also its basically a runescape type game, jt has the same sort of controls as runescape and i think thats why its awesome because of the runescape reminiscense
The whole addicted thing peon was talking about. The exact same thing happened to shroud where he said it wasn't for him and it's boring and then later on after getting to end game he retracted that statement and said he is addicted
@@Ecliptor. yeah everyone on my steam list isplaying it, someone finally convinced me to try it and i couldnt make it through 2 hours without the shitty art/graphics and for some reason off putting isometric angle just made it not enjoyable.
Asmon, I’m really enjoying the positive open mindedness you have going on. I’m the same age as you, I’m guilty of my own toxicness in the past, I’ve gotten tired of seeing it online myself and try to do better. Nowadays I don’t play online as much because I know how people can be, but seeing a big streamer standing for positive gaming experiences gives me hope that gaming communities will be impacted by that.
i love how his chat called every single class op lmao. Every class in this game is rly fking good, just play what you want, there is no bad choice. There will always be butthurt ppl who are crying that their main class is bad or not as good as x or y class, while the real problem is themself and that they arent as good as they think they are.
not really, berserker is the only real choice, and I don't even like the game. The rest look either boring, dogshit, underpowered (like paladin). I'm not even a warrior kinda guy, either.
@@Ecliptor. paladin is a support class... if he would compete with pure damage classes in terms of damage, nobody would play another class, so its logical that he has to be below a berserker or sorc in terms of pure damage
imo once it gets stale to you just ignore everything and bumrush the main quest while skipping cutscenes(you can review cutscenes later on with the memory thing). it won't take you more than 3-4 hours tops to complete anikka, aldetine and vern from that point
Most of my friends quit around Lv.35 to 45 - the other half quit, after they saw that besides island, all you do is being gatekept by 2/2 entries as if It's a mobile game. @@Krogdalo Most about your friends, Have you seen those videos "how I reached gearscore 1302 in 2 weeks without p2w" there are tons of them. You need to actually play the game to enjoy, you can't blame it if you don't know what you're doing
The amount of guardian raids I do depends on how many I can get my stronghold to do for me. Fuck that shit. My friend and I tried to do the 960 ghost ship for the first time and realized they want you to have the eiburn's ghost ship for that takes 12 weeks of playing to grind the rep for if you don't use cash shop items to instant finish the daily you can otherwise only do weekly. If you don't have that ship, with the legendary crew member, you get perma 40% slow fighting the boss.
Yeaah, he’s not really mentioning that part. He had to indulge in the P2W aspects to achieve his power rating. Lazypeon is going into everything fresh with little to no prep or tips. Completely different styles on how the game is being played.
The reason why Guardian Raids are tedious for us on EU and NA is, that AGS thought it was a good idea to increase the health of all guardians by 50% because some Q&A testers felt like they died too quickly...They testet the first Guardian with slightly higher Ilvl, of course that beast is gonna drop dead in like 5 min, its the first guardian you have to farm daily and thats what they missed, that guardian raids are daily content that you need to go through quickly
I'm done with it.The boring grind is too much and I've better things to do with my time. Was pretty decent if a bit weird up till 50,after 50 nah not for me.
I have the same feeling Asmongold has for the Zerk class. I only have 1 char and I went with Sorc and I'm pushing over 500 ilvl and I don't feel like wanting to play any other class from current roster. I'm a bit interesting in the Artist but not sure will I play another class. I'm just so happy with the one I chose. Her T1 armor is garbo dou, feels like they forgot to add texture to it xD
As cool as the berserker is, artillerist drops a nuke on the enemy, and if anyone survives they go straight Madara and say "oh, well what will you do about the second one?"
I actually love the pvp in this game, could see myself playing pvp alone for hundreds of hours if they add in a ranking system. Didn't take long to get to tier 1 so now pvp feels like it has no meaning
Apparently when they start adding more content to the game around a month or so from now (maybe shorter), they are going to update our version's pvp to match the KR version's current pvp system- which means competitive game modes will be added, and the ladder of tiers/grades to climb will be significantly higher
I'm so sad because my computer is a little old.. and it just cant keep up. Every time I load into pvp it's fine but as soon as people start using abilities the entire screen freezes for - no exaggeration- 20 to 30 seconds which means I cant put out damage and the entire match lags too much for me to do anything... it sucks. I've tried everything I can try but it just doesnt wanna comply - really sad, pvp seems fun af

Been playing since launch, switched from euc to euw and finally hit endgame a couple days ago. But now the hype goggles have come off I really see the flaws in this game. Everything is just such a massive chore with so many systems and currencies, island quests waste your time and send you on fetch quests to more islands/continents which send you on even more fetch quests, adventure tomes aren't easily farmible as you have to deal with maxxing every rapport and collecting or buying every single drop to hit 100%, amazon censorship and blackwashing is awful etc. etc. etc.
@@BrienAhern Yup me and my friends are still enjoying It In later tiers and we've played since the 3 days early launch, some like it some don't that's how games work. Hopefully you find your game soon Kobe. :)
I think the worst part of the main quest is that you can't just skip all the shitty story and get back to fighting stuff. Might need a new G key soon, should be able to hold it to jump to the end of dialogue. Not to mention the unskippable cutscenes.... the weird thing is they are holding players up from seeing reasons to give them money because they are stuck listening to some NPC drone on lol.
the man literaly calls out the main issue with beserk players and then says the biggest issue he has is because he dies alot because he thinks his class will face tank everything. Thats what we mean by a "bot class" u literally have to do nothing but attack. Zero skill is required for the class and its made for newbies because its a low risk high reward class. Ppl that like to be technical and not smash they faces on the keyboard obviously perfer something different.
It feels like this game was released to us on a "catch up patch" and all of the things that people talk about being the reasons the game is fun for them are the catch up mechanics. None of what is shown in the video is "end game" it's just the phase of the game after the leveling process. I love it too but whenever the grind becomes a slog I'm out (If it feels necessary to complete). Maybe new content should be released in "catch up mode" in mmos more often and they would all be more fun.
@Krioque Half of the islands are catchup mechanics, they were added much later to get alts into tier 3. Why do you think people reached tier 3 in the first week on NA/EU? KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER is a catchup mechanic. POWERPASS is a catchup mechanic. You are braindead.
ive been playing tier 1 for the past 2 days and im about to quit i dont get the appeal. yeah the boss fights are pretty fun but that is the literal only thing to the game.
Are you saying people need to play till tier 3 to have real fun? ;D I myself really like the game and fighting boss and only do daily when I feel like doing it though I just play it for chill and not thinking of getting too deep in game , just having fun till I got bored of it
@@StaminatorBlader I can understand that , it just a thing for me when I play lost ark is that I just don't care about the game and just having fun while I can because I see myself not going to stick around for long because I already feel the game play loop and I'm sure going to get bored eventually. The combat is nice and graphic is good but the game play loop of farming and doing it on alt again and again and upgrading and failing and back to farming just not a thing for me before and its sure not going to be a thing for me now. 1055 and only like 61 mokoko...feels bad. But tbh mokoko just not high on my list. Abyssal Dungeons are like real mmo raids. Especially starting tier 4
only downsides are the leveling and EUC 10k + Queues... the other parts of the game are really cool, but the 10k queue everytime u want to log on killed it for me and I since refunded the 100€ on steam. Planning my entire day/week on when I will be able to play a video game is just not something I want to do.
i hope they do fix that. amazon and smilegate are focusing on finding solutions for that exact problem right now and it seems like its not going swimmingly well. sad thing is that to a game company the fact that they're trying doesnt really matter to people until they put out results, wish they could just communicate more about their progress with it
Bro I would have bought the mount off of you for 60 euros 😔 and if you really like the game u could have kept playing on another server maybe? The only servers with queue are Kadan, Asta and the 4 other og servers. The others are fine honestly. But your money your choices ofcourse, I hope you don't regret it later bro
"devs dont want people quitting the game" judging by how they handle EU region, this statement is false. and its a good thing that people are quitting in droves! :D only 10k more people need to quit in my server, to get rid of that daily 4 hours queue. and maybe matchmaking gonna start working too.
Ashmongold is right as a Hardcore-gamer, we expect cusual-gamer to have the nearly same mindset as we do. For example to figure fast out how changing UI, Quest, Timelines and more works. But we did learn it too, back time. Its the same as when you raise kids, you have to teach them, how for an example, you open a door. People saying "they should quit, if its too hard", make me feel sad.. just2words..
It doesn't make sense to have visual effects to be turned off as default. Why even have effects in the first place, it would make more sense to have it turn off if you zone into plcaes where there are like 30 ppl fighting one boss.
I think for the majority of th population that will try Lost Ark, the casual content is amazing for a f2p game, an MMO thrives due to its casual playerbase (Look at Classic WoW for example). The fact that there is close to 1M people after 2 weeks despite the terrible lag and potato servers, shows that the game has amazing content, endgame included. If few whales want to speedrun the fun out of the game by buying all the store etc they are free to do so but they are the very small minority.
Couldn't have said It better myself, either way some people fixate way too much on numbers. It's like they sit and spam the refresh button 24/7 just to go on a rant about how much they don't enjoy the game, the game Isn't for everyone and It's not supposed to be just like any other game. Just play whatever you find fun and respect others decision to use their free time on this, we're all here to have fun In the end. I don't play Lost Ark as my only game I hop on Elden Ring too sometimes Including some super old games still like timesplitter and Duke Nukem, I honestly don't get the fixation some people have nowdays on what others spend their time on. Don't like It then move on and play something you do like, If nothing else then revisit older games you already own until set game comes around that's what I do. All In all I just wish for everyone that Isn't Into Lost Ark to hopefully find their next game to enjoy, the gaming community as a whole could use some more positivity nowdays.
the devs are focusing on horizontal and casual content in the near future, they even said that legion raids were a mistake, as they made people focus too much on the vertical progression. this game has a good future.
Asmon, I love you, but you going on about the graphics and being able to turn them on and off just looks bad, lol. They literally ask you when you start if you want to turn them down. You clearly didn't understand what your chat was trying to tell you.
I hope you try pvp and give it a fair go . Pick a build, do a bit of practice combos on the dummy . Then jump in 1v1 / 3v3 / battle royale free for all 6 ppl / 6v6 co op battle capture the point on 3 lanes . It is very balanced, simple, and fun . You can play as a tank /dps /support ish class. Lots of builds to test and all are free with equal/fair gear for all. 0 p2w < only this is worth my money for someone who loves to play vs people. perfect for competitive and rankings as well . Also perfect for people who do not desire to do anything PVE and just stay forever PVP .
Then fight a boss that's a lower tier so you can hard carry it? Honestly dumbest thing I've ever heard. Sounds like you just don't like playing the game if you dislike guardian raids on principle. Quit now.
The problem he will now face is that he finished the current content and now the game is over. The T3 grind is so slow, because there is nothing beyond it currently. He can stop playing and wait for the next batch of content. There is nothing left, except maybe pay the Gold Sellers for their farmed materials on the Auction House to complete the Adventurer Tome and grind Mokoko seeds for pointless rewards and titles.
