This is quite interesting! I found that I had extreme anxiety and uncomfortable feelings in my own skin a month back. I have never experienced that before. Horrible feeling of claustrophobia as well. My BP usually hangs out 130/80 but when I was picking up a medication to help with my new found problem I took my blood pressure. It was 91 over 60 and this was after an embarrassing event. I had accidentally lowered my blood pressure with L-citrulline. After I quit it I felt normal again and BP was my normal area again.
My GP, General Practitioner noticed that I had low blood pressure readings on my bi-annual physicals. No white coast syndrome here. She believed it was the weight loss that might have brought this on. Going to speak with a local Chiropractor that is also Certified in the diagnosis and treatment of dysfunctional neurological conditions
Definitely worth looking into Scott, the weight loss could've contributed to it, especially if there's decrease in muscle tone and down-regulation of cardiac reflexes. Hoping this Chiropractor brings you some good news! - It's also worth reaching out to Chiropractors that have the 'American Chiropractic Neurology Board (ACNB)' credentials, as they'll have knowledge/training in functional neurology
Maybe in the very short term Breno, but the body would probably revert back to how it was previously. My view is that we need to look towards optimising the systems in the body/brain that regulate blood pressure mechanisms; one of the main ones being the vestibular system.
@@ChrisGascoigne1 my bp went to 74/61. I just learned i have crohns a week ago. And yes, no sooner have you eaten extra salt on day or two, the bp drops again. I am not an anxious person but calm but i can feel my bp drop as soon as i stand. I am 58yrs old. Am sick of it. Had low bp all my life n fatigue gallore. But i am not fearful of it as panic only makes a bad situation worse. I have a bit of medical training but one day i had to ring a friend for help as i knew i would collapse if i got out of armchair. I needed water n couldnt get it.
It was interesting you said anxiety and hypotension go hand in hand… my heart rate has remained in the 82 range, oxogen 98-100 but my BP has dropped year over year from 112/75, to 104/70 to recently 96/66… My only symptom has been anxiety… over these past 4 years So I truly believe anxiety can also lower blood pressure especially over time, unfortunately I’ve only found a few scientific studies that confirm this In the short term acute stress seems to raise BP but chronic stress seems to lower it… Like I said, I’ve only found a few studies, but one of those studies was a 22 year study… What are your thoughts?
