It's about time the reptile brands caught up to some aquarium brands. This sort of gear has been out for like 10 years in the aquarium trade. Awesome stuff. Makes me consider stripping my DIY version of this out of my herp room.

Absolutely! The Aquarium Hobby has way more of this stuff and i am happy we can now de clutter all the micro controllers and cables with this solution.

Only had my jungle dawn led for around 6months but guess what....its getting sold. I'm replacing all my light systems with the Lumenize. Thanks for the review!

Love the content i have turtles and think this could be a light for me i do however have a question or two first do they get hot being t5 tubes or are they cool like led second would you think they would be ok for turtles e.g. water protection also thinking of African frogs again whats your take ,,any info would be good and keep up the good work

So all light will produce heat, the T5’s do get hot yeah but not like a basking lamp, the LED also gets hot but not like a basking The new IP protection will be more than fine for any species no matter the humidity :) For me all reptiles/amphibians should get some uvb so yeah!

Hello Paul! I'm nervous and excited to get my first reptile, a leopard gecko. I'll be building my own 3x2x2 vivarium from scratch and have been struggling with understanding which combination of lighting to go with. LumenIZE is quite pricey, but I'm willing to spend the money as this gecko will be my only reptile for the long haul. Could you provide recommendations on how to start? To note, the only plants I'll have in the enclosure are succulents and air plants. Thanks in advance!!

Hey! A channel on here called leopard gecko will be your go too! But the shade dweller or shade dweller max will be where you want to start! People are finding LumenIZE for geckos much more beneficial as that dawn and dusk period is when some geckos really come alive so to speak! Led wise a smaller jungle dawn never hurts! I’m a massive fan of visible light so always nice!

I'm looking for a bit of info. Im upgrading my cone headed iguana to a 90x45x90 exoterra or equivalent and was wondering if I need to get the lumenize uvb and LED lights the same length as the tank or is it not necessary?

With them being a forest species UVi will be consist and under the canopy and higher in pockets of sun I personally aim for a uvb tube the length of my lizard for tropical species The uvb ideally will be placed on one side The led across the whole set up And the halogen in the middle of the I’ve or at the least not at an edge as the Uvi is between the closer to the middle d the tube Arcadia have a species recommendation list on their website But in short it doesn’t have to cover the Viv, just the lizard

can any UVB bulb of the size and wattage work with this system? or do you need to buy specialized bulbs for it?

@@biohazardousbacon as long as the lamp fits it should work, Arcadia lamps 100% I’m not sure on other brands

Are you still keeping the halogen as an on/off system? How is that looking time wise?

It comes on 30 mins before and goes off 30 mins after I don’t dim my halogens, as it throws the colour and reduces the IR levels

So did kermit physically brighten up ? Or is it the brightness of the lights that makes his color be better appreciated ?

He doesn’t fire up fire down like say a gecko would, but the lights have helped either me see his true colours or brighten his natural colours

Ive been using this type of lumenize system for 2 yrs now with my scorpions and leopard gecko. I use an led bar from nicrew that mimics dusk til dawn lighting with all the timing just like lumenize and i have a separate dome for a uvb connected to a timer...all for the price of less than $150 CAD. Lumenize is around $350 CAD. What its got going is that its an all-in-one and is sleek. Too pricey for me, il just use that extra $200 Cad to buy another leopard gecko😉

I agree. I really like the planted aquarium light by finnex. They do the same thing, but not with the same precision as in the luminize app. But I look at those, around $100 to $150, as expensive. So tack on another hundred or so and that’s a lot. I’ve wanted to switch over my entire reptile room to finnex lights and that’s going to be quite a bit. If I switched over the entire room to lumenize, it would be a ridiculous amount of money.

They didn't build the ramp on/off into the device itself? I ramp mine on/off already and don't use any wifi/smart outlets. I guess I am at a loss but would love some more information.

@@DomesticDinos the ramp on and off technology is inside the unit controlled via Bluetooth via app They don’t need smart plugs, they plug straight in I answered your question by directing you to a video where the literal creator of this talks in depth I review using it, not how and why it’s built this way, thus not qualified to answer your question Soooooo I answered it by directing you to a video that could… If that’s not good enough then I can’t help that as it’s the best I can do… 🤷🏼‍♀️

My only concern is for animals with light heat, they need to be paired with a system to cause a rise/fall effect during the day

@@paulsmonitors so in their video they mention how it’s dark and then you turn in your lights and get full exposure to mid day UVB and then at the end of the day turn it off into complete darkness. But it’s light that for your basking bulbs too. They fixed this for LED and UVB with luminize but there’s still the issue with basking bulbs. You can’t fix circadian rhythms with just luminize alone without addressing having the basking bulbs come straight on/off. I get there’s dimmers but it would be more beneficial to have another Arcadia product that you can use WITH luminize for the heat or basking bulbs

@@SotasExotics when you dim a halogen it moves the wave length and colour spectrum so becomes unnatural anyways, John goes over it in the podcast on animals at home
