I've started to feel that way myself. They are just over saturating the series to the point I want to see something else. Let Zelda breath for a moment.
Please Andre. No more Metroid 4 news. I'm a 45yr old man who's been waiting so patiently for this game that I'll risk running naked around my backyard, (blurrs included) if this game is shown during the next Direct.
@@zanok7796 I'm in the boat that gaming has evolved with Us. Even if it's not on Switch '2' , just going off re Masters visuals it will look amazing. However , I think We won't be seeing it this Direct for some reason. We'll see but I think it would follow too much in the "reveal pattern" of Breath of the Wild. I'd love that of course but I just don't think Nintendo would do it. Just a hunch but I hope I'm wrong. If they do, it will say a lot about Mr Furukawa operates.
@@netweed09 I bought 2 copies of the Metroid Prime Remastered. I wanted to keep one with the plastic on it as I really think this is gonna be worth some $ later on down the line! Cheers to a good week coming for us, irr reguardless of what happens!
The Pokemon franchise is the best example that quality doesn't necessarely correlates to sells. It's much more complex than that and it's a major oversimplification. Marketing plays a huge role in how a game sells. This is why sometimes we discover hidden gems after years that didn't have the chance to shine when it came out. Critical acclaim is usually a more accurate indicator of quality.
I grew up with metroid, back to nes. The way it stands now. Im not expecting anything. If we get a reveal its unlikely to be released by years end. … looking forward to the switch 2 version. There is a chance Nintendo just outright reveals an gives an October release date. I think we would have a screenshot by now though.
Honestly, considering we’re at the turning point of the console generation, and Nintendo still has MP4 listed as a Switch title - it’d be nice if Nintendo at least acknowledged it, if nothing else than to say ‘yes, this game exists, it was pushed to the successor model for a joint release, please wait just a little longer’
If sales were the only metric to go off to judge popularity then a lot of well known franchises wouldn't be as popular and vice versa. Metroid has a massive name in games history so I hope Prime 4 can raise it to new heights 🙏🏽
I don't think it will be cross gen. I've heard that the team was given more time because it was unlikely that they would meet the 2024 deadline. A Switch 2 port with enhancements would take like 6 months on top of just finishing the base game.
Nintendo has to update the fanbase at this point because we're at the Switch's eleventh hour. But I think we're getting some Metroid _for sure_ this direct. If it's not a total Prime 4 blow-out, then we'll get Prime 2 and 3 remaster/port with an update or teaser on what to expect for Prime 4.
I think it would be a reasonable response by fans to be worried if they don’t at least say something during this presentation. Hopefully Nintendo agrees 😅
@@AndresRestart Honestly, I'm tempering my expectations, trying to be patient, reasonable, but... DAMN I WANT THAT PRIME 4 BLOWOUT. Full trailer, release date, developer interviews, Treehouse live, THE WORKS, NINTENDO! lol
With that comparison of Luigi’s mansion/Prime sales, you gotta remember the GameCube didn’t sell well compared to the switch. GameCube only sold 21 million in its life span, and Mansion was a launch title.
I wonder if Prime 4 will be throttle back graphically, and fps max on the current gen switch and will have Switch 2 settings that are activated when played on that system? DLSS, higher fps, etc...
I’m 17 now when it could be announced. That’s crazy 💀 if it’s an October 2024 release , Nintendo is getting game of the year with 9 year hardware with a console in its late life that’s wilder.
@@OfficialBry713 same here lol. I'll be 18 this October so if prime 4 gets released before then it'd make a good birthday gift, if not maybe Christmas.
I was expecting to hear Metroid rumors but all I’ve been hearing is new Zelda, Mario, and even a switch sports sequel? I just want to know something about Metroid Prime 4 😅
Personally can't wait for MP4. I'm anticipating it as much as I was Breath of the Wild, if not more so, since it wasn't until after BoTW was down that I got excited about it. Metroid Prime is up there in my top 3 games of all time.
I’m fully expecting this to be Metriod’s big moment. Also regarding Metriod’s sale potential here’s how I see it, I think if they just keep franchise how it’s been, it’s gonna cap around 3-4 million however, if they expand upon what Prime 3 did and give us multple planets to explor and or epecially add an equal or slightly greater focus on multiplayer, THEN the franchise will be elevated to that 10+ Million seller realm tho at that point I can see some fans say “This isn’t Metriod anymore”.
Y'all are setting yourselves up for disappointment. My advice is to go into this direct under the assumption that absolutely no Prime 4 news will be unveiled. You won't be as disappointed that way.
8:52 this is just a refreshing taking on series like metroid. Its really annoying having people just not willing to give it a try purely based on sales numbers. Its just not a good way to look at if the series is good because its not telling the full story. Take Star Fox series which is just the textbook definition of bad data. You can't really judge the series potential with Star Fox Zero because there were obviously bad decision made for it. The motion controls, the forced use of the gamepad, it being a reimagining of the first game not long after a remake came out on the 3ds. The branching paths not being as good as 64, the button mapping being weird, the artstyle being a hit or miss for some people, and it coming out at the end of the worst performing system. All these elements add up to Zero being an obvious failure even for starfox fans. Its also hard to say on rail shooters like 64 are dead when the series declined literally the moment they tried to make it be something else. Thats not mentioning that these follow up games lack the polish of a nintendo game like mario or zelda. You might as well say that the zelda series is bad because of tge CDI games.
You can't make the guarantee that improving quality of something increases sales of it. You could make a perfect master piece but if people don't care for that genre they aren't buying it. Metroid doesn't need 10-20 million in sales. It has it's dedicated fans and that's all it needs. You get a bigger sales number by watering down your game and making it more accessible and changing it to pander to those who never wanted the original game to begin with, which is not a good thing. That's selling out.
I think Nintendo has something big planned for Metroid Prime 4 hence why it's taking so long. For all we know, maybe the game might have a multiplayer feature Metroid Prime 2, Hunters and Federation Force all had.
I had a dream last night where two retro devs were talked about, one was a diversity hire who was a guy from India, I was like Oh noo...a tech support guy is the lead developer....and the other was apparently a former Valve developer lol. You can tell Metroid was on my mind.
I think the sells are as low as they are because Metroid is more loved by Americans then any other region and Nintendo has a bigger Japan and Europe customer base but I don't care if it's on Switch 1 or Switch 2 I'm picking it up day one for sure! 👍
If MP4 is a Switch 2 title then they cannot show it without showing the hardware (or at least giving it a name). But If switch 2 is coming next year then Nintendo needs something to sell in the next 9 months -so it has to be a Donkey Kong or Metroid and not a re-master either. The Game Cube sold just over 20 million units so the original Metroid Prime was purchased by over 10% of owners; if they can do that on the switch then that is going to be at least 12 million in sales, maybe more. Nintendo is a business with share holders they will not pass up chances to make money.
Metroid is a childhood game I have always enjoyed. Great soundtrack and great content. Zelda is better but metroid is superior than Mario in my opinion
Unlikely as Nintendo said Switch 2 won't be shown off on the 18th August Nintendo Direct! Metroid Prime 4 is coming to the Switch 2 (maybe also Switch) so it will be saved for the Switch 2 reveal trailers in 2025!
lol but yeah, Metroid 6 is at least halfway through development already, all things considered. Prime 4 will deliver, that's for sure. The question I ask is just how good will it be... could it be their next masterpiece? If it's as good a firecracker as I hope it is, then Nintendo is going to have to decide how to maximize its success as much as possible by revealing and releasing it at the most opportune time possible.
@@eljuli1003 Oh, wow, awesome. Samus Returns remaster with graphical and gameplay improvements would be a dream come for me, but I don't feel like it's happening atm or I just won't hope till I have some news or credible insider leak. Sakamoto already said he was working on the next Metroid after Dread released, anyway, hence my comment.
@@eljuli1003Compared to Dread that game looks and runs like crap. It would need a makeover, and that money is better well spent on Other M 2: The Baby Returns: Remember Me?
