That is true, but some years ago. Now, when you take money from bank (especially if it´s a high amount) you are likely to get robbed outside the bank. The tellers are connected with the robbers. Many people have been killed when robbed. Nowadays Mexico City (and the majority of country) is not safe!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey! As a mexican citizen I can recommend you places to visit that are much better than just staying in Polanco or La condesa: You must go to Santa Fé, especially a park called "La mexicana", other option is San Ángel, for eating there's a restaurant called San Ange inn, Coyoacán.

They served you "Cafe de olla", which is a variation of coffee here in México, usually made with Piloncillo (a form of raw pure cane sugar), cinnamon and sometimes people add other aromatic spices. Also is made in an "Olla", which is a typical cooking clay pot.

Mexico City is actually on par with major US cities for crime. I'd have been more concerned walking the streets of Vegas than CdMx (as a Phoenician). The one area you REALLY want to avoid is Tepito. This has historically always been a rough area, even before the Spanish arrived. New subscriber here, just found your channel this morning and watched all the Mexico vids, and Vegas. Love your energy!

You´ve been recording for days in the City and people still think is dangerous, not to offend anyone who is looking at your videos BUT, if they think that the city/country is dangerous, it is an stereotype that should change and they should not come, if the people looking at your videos know that they should not believe everything the TV or news say to them then, they are welcomed. People need to stop the hate and know every other country is not an extension of the US and things are different, México receives anyone who is respectful to our country, traditions, etc. Keep it up my man, I see you loved the city and you should, you will never get bored in CDMX, there is always something to do, a new place to go. RESPECT!

true but only to add on. is not the most expensive area of mexico at all. is not far though, like across the highway that borders that area. that place its called: "bosques de las lomas". but then again a super rich might think bosque de las lomas is old fashion and prefer a close community, that place could be "bosque real" if you google that and quicky go to images, youll see. glad you like it here, come back anytime bro.

There are tons of perfectly safe neighborhoods in Mexico City that are not Roma Norte, La Condesa or Polanco. Tourists stay in those neighborhoods because that's all they ever hear about or ever seem to visit, but much of the city is decently safe, even many of the areas that may not appear as nice. Juarez, which was mentioned in the video, is not dangerous. Tourists really should try leaving the bubble of those few neighborhoods and visit other parts of the city. Crime can happen anywhere, no matter how nice the neighborhood is, that's just a reality of large cities, but as long as you use common sense, you're going to be fine. I've personally been to Tepito many times, no problems. It certainly has a questionable reputation, but not like it used to. Also, you said Mexico City is not that cheap- that's for a reason. Those 3 neighborhoods are some of the most expensive in the city and mostly cater to tourists and upper-income residents, so prices will be higher there than almost anywhere else, even for street food. Another good reason to venture out. Also, for the love of god, I wish people would stop recommending Santa Fe. It's a suburban office district with one nice park. It's not walkable, there's nothing else to do there and it's far from everything else.

Hello, to begin with, it's not condensa, it's countess (condesa), kondeza, I inform you that Mexico City is one of the safest in the world of its kind, and it is among the ten safest in Mexico, and not only in Roma or Polanco, the entire city It is very safe, achievment from 5 years ago, obviously if the possibility of being robbed in some places increases by a percentage, but believe me, everything is well monitored and controlled, not just the "tourist" places as you believe, in fact CDMX is not already done nor was it thought of in tourists, everything you see has been thought of by local inhabitants, that city has only been exploited for tourism in the last 15 or 20 years ago, one fact: there are more than 80,000 cameras throughout the city connected to a large control center, bigbrother, and its police and organization is an example, greetings

Hi, my dear gringo friend. I am mexican and though I am originally from the nothern mexican border, I've been living in Mexico City (CDMX), for twelve years now. I regreat very much the fact that you found the "angel de la independencia" monument, surrounded by a metal barrier, which authorities set up when something like a popular manifestation of some kind is announced and they protect these monuments from being damaged. Should it have not been for that, you would've apreciated it in it's full splendorous glory. I also wanted to comment about your walk to la condesa and the park you encountered where you had chips and there whas an art display and in your video you showed a feline, it was the "bosque de Chapultepec." It is the largest park in Mexico City and I've heard itś even bigger that NY's central park. There is a zoo in there, several lakes an the magnificient "Castillo de Chapultepec" which is an impressive display of beauty and elegance from it's historic period. You very much need an interpreter or translator; an insider that allows you to take in the many things that you loose because of not understanding the language. I gather you will not come back very soon, but when you do, I will gladly accompany you and help you appreciate this great city better. No charge intended.

Im from NYC but i visit my family in CDMX, he gave a lot of good tips, i think another one i would definitely recommend. Leave the expensive jewlery and watches at home please. In the areas he mentioned nothing might happen. But if you go to other areas you might get attention so no flashy jewlery .

Literally common sense and just read the room... Would you go to Queens with a flashy cartier bracelet and a jaeger-lecoultre watch? lol

@@georgemonroeYou'd be surprised how little common sense kicks in. Especially because I've seen people go to other countries forgetting they're not home. Wearing these expensive ass watches and necklaces and getting robbed.

@@justice.01997 It can happen anywhere specially on big cities and as a tourist you spend a lot of time on the street/public transportation... I guess common sense is not that common anymore

I've visited Mex CD more times than I can remember. I've never had a problem and never felt in danger. Most people are nice, nicer than those in most big cities in the U.S. Please visit other Mexican cities as you'll find amazing regional differences. The food, customs, and sites are greatly varied.

There are parts of CDMX that are safe like Polanco and Santa Fe. Many areas are not safe at night.

I stayed in the historical district for a week. Two blocks from Zocalo. It was cool during the day but didn't feel safe after 10 pm with my 10 yr old. Yeah, the area where you stayed is much safer at night given that it is a upper middle class neighborhood.

Did you have any problem there or it was just your prejudice?

What about getting in cabs? Can you trust the cab drivers? Or bus stops? Also do you feel safe going to the ATMs?

Chapped lips could be in part because of the crazy high elevation. Less atmosphere means more UV.

5:57 the tent situation is so new, because of a president of a certain country allowing tons of migrants enter his country illegally while México is the last trajectory before arriving so they need to rest in between the travel so now Mexico city haves a lot of them because of that, normally that isn't a norm here

You definitely need to use Spanish words as a courtesy, like Gracias, Si, por favor. Try a translator on your smart phone. Your videos are enjoyable. 😊

What I do find intersting is that all the people who talk about never coming to Mexico because of danger, never watch these videos. They always are watching the crime videos and commenting how they'll never go.
