Is mulberry firewood good for campfire wood? In this firewood video I test burn some mulberry to see how it burns and if I should sell it as campfire wood.
I love mulberry. It’s related to hedge. Not as hot and not as many sparks. For the fire pit I’ll burn just about anything. Hedge and mulberry are for the stove.
Agreed Brian. I am going to try to save it for people who heat with it or smoke meat with it. Might add some as ''filler wood'' with my standard summer campfire wood stock.
Best thing for stoking a fire is a hand held kitchen blow torch. $10 and $1 per can of butane which lasts months. It puts heat, flame and air into the fire with 20 times the effectiveness of a straw or bellows and you don’t have to put your face anywhere near the fire.
Mulburry wood is very simular to oak wood. It burns well, and has BTUs like oak. But it takes a while to season and ready to go. Around here, it's a weed so easy to get and cut.
only problems I can see is seasoning time and for camp wood would only worry about a spark starting a fire. I have burned some Mulberry in pit that looked like a miniature fireworks show lol. congrates on 5k thought this channel was temp until you got orig returned to you so didn't sub until now
Thanks to you, I started using the straw method back when I used to watch your videos & wasn’t signed on to RU-vid so I never commented.😔 Then finally last fall, after hearing like & comment etc, I did show up to be an active member!! I’ve upgraded my straw to an ivoec straw which is 18” long & heavier plastic. It works well!!
Weeping Willow burns nice with only 4wks drying from green fresh cut if you mix it with ready to burn oak. I love pine for campfires, any hardwood for cooking fires.
I don't think we have much this way. Can't say I've used it. Hey it was finally dry today. Have a great night. I'm sure it is good for meat. Nice video 👍
I definitely do maple for my outside campfires, good flame, nice to watch . And when cut , split and staged , It doesn’t take long to dry. This is Richys Believe it or not . AH , HAH
My favorite is whatever I get for free! Which is usually a mix of silver maple, spruce, poplar, and basswood. White Birch works well, too. The poplar and basswood have the advantage of drying super fast when split- even when totally green. They give me the bright flames. Cottonwood is also very plentiful where I go to get wood. It burns well for campfires- but you have to make sure it's DRY dry- or it smells unpleasantly of urine. I save the locust and more maple for grilling.
Congrats on 5k. Focus more on your business!! “Joe’s premium firewood”. The videos are fun and all but you need to build your business to get to the next step. RU-vid videos don’t pay the bills. If they do, your not doing something right!! Get after the wood joe!!
If Joe’s Premium Firewood could expand… then it would pay all your bills and give you lots of spending cash. And freedom to do whatever you wanted. You wouldn’t need to produce the videos for money. Although the videos are very entertaining. 🍻
Favorite campfire woods are what I try to sell. Silver maple, ash for cooking. Pine for drinking around. Oak is crap campfire wood. Takes too long to coal for cooking and flames are too small for drinking around
@@JoesFirewoodVideosII I wish more people did... I'm sitting on 6 cords that I haven't sold anything of in a month. Only gets better in time. Except for the pine... It's gotta go this year. White pine does not keep well over a year dry
